We learned the basics of improv and all its fun acronyms (yes and, CREW, etc.) and applied to to our scenes. Keith did an amazing job at making everyone feel welcomed and not scared to be vulnerable, and was an attentive teacher. I can tell he truly loves what he does because he genuinely laughs at every scene. Through this class, I also learned many life lessons: everyone is faking it till they make it, always ask more questions, embrace the silliness and absurdity of life, never stop playing, and just show up. A lot of local parking spots and good food spots. Personally, I wish they cleaned up the Blvd cause on a bad day it can still look as ugly as the 90's. But it's improving and getting slowly better. The characters walking around the event had on amazing costumes, not too scary, but just scary enough! I love the glow of some of the rooms, very cool and really set the mood! The costumes ~ the singing and acting are superb! Everyone here is so cool .. it's a fun community of very artistic people showing off their art ! I will also mention there is not a bad seat the house ... it's a circular .. U shaped staging .. where the audience surrounds the performance on all sides! Come one .. come all and check them out !! This particular show is part of the annual Fringe Festival, which is a mixed bag of shows, never knowing quite what you're going to get. I thought Ben brought a lot of energy to the show, told us fun stories, and dabbled in some magic here and there. Not your typical magic shows with card tricks and bunnies in hats, more of a storytelling show with moments of illusion. Obviously, Ben and his team put a lot of work into the show. It was my first time at the inconspicuous Skiptown Playhouse, but it worked for the show. A nice little black box theatre for quaint intimate productions here in LA.
