The sprinkler system repair technician, Houston, never made an appointment on time. there was always some reason that he would be late. He must have made multiple, tightly scheduled appointments that invariable had to be adjusted, After 2-3 postponements, we finally set one for 10 AM, the following day. Houston never showed up and didn't call. A couple of hours latet, I saved a text or email from his office manager, perhaps partner, stating that I misunderstood what was supposed to happen. This appears to be a small operation, a husband and wife team. He makes the business arraignments and they both perform the work. The owner/operator is a lovely man who is soft spoken. But he is a master of the weed-eater. They make short work for my 1/4 acre. And it's good work too. I started small, had them do just a portion of my yard. I didn't know if I could afford to have the whole thing done, but their rates are very fair. Recently, I had them rehab my entire yard. This was mowing, including a steep hill, weeding the flower beds and cleaning up all the debris from the trees getting ready to hibernate from the heat and lack of water. It took them a bit, 2 1/2 hours, but man that was a lot of work, done well. It would have taken me a week. If you are in the Salem Oregon area and are looking for a regular care team, or just need to catch up, call these folks up. They will definitely be worth the call.

This guy is not only good at what he does, but he provides excellent service on top of it. I had a property that needed immediate help in clearing items out. Since I don't live in the area, time is of the essence for me when trying to get things done. I had looked up Junk Busters on Yelp and they were my first phone call. Within 15 minutes, Lucas called me back to get an assessment of the situation. After texting and emailing some initial photos, he was able to give me an immediate quote. It wasn't the cheapest quote but certainly not the most expensive either. The other services who charged less, also told me it would take them longer (several days) to do the job that he noted he could do in a day. For a per hour job, it was $45 + $15 day for gas. Dump fees would be paid by me but the hourly rate included his truck, tools, and his labor, all of which is accompanied by an 8 hour minimum. What's more impressive is that he was in the middle of a haul when he was consulting with me; talk about multi-tasking. He came over the next day and like a New Yorker, he kept it super real with me. He gave me advice on getting rid of certain items and was extremely kind throughout the process. I wouldn't hesitate to hit up Lucas again to clear out a place and would recommend his services to anyone.

We needed some help with landscaping our front yard and doing the landscaping version of CPR on our…read morebackyard, which was overgrown with weeds, dog poop (ew), and actual junk that we didn't have a car big enough to remove (pallets and such). We moved into the house a year ago and had pretty much done nothing to maintain the landscaping that had been done prior to the sale, so you can imagine the state it was in. We were pretty overwhelmed by it all so reached out to Junk Busters because of their amazing reviews. Lucas offered to come the next day and give us a free estimate, walking through everything we'd want done and giving us a very fair price estimate right away. It took us a few weeks to sort out the right time to do it but Lucas was always willing to answer any questions that came up (like: "how much would it be if we did this and didn't do this" type questions all of us non-millionaires end up having). Long story short, we hired him and we are SO glad we did! He communicated professionally and clearly, always arrived on time, and his work was phenomenal - thorough and with obvious attention to detail. We love our home and we could see he knew and respected that, treating our property like he would his own. In the end, Junk Busters helped us with: weeding, landscaping front and back yards, laying bark/land leveling, junk hauling, and ultimately restoring our sanity. We highly recommend Junk Busters! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. I'm all for supporting the little guys, especially when it comes to…read morelandscaping services considering the bigger companies tend to nickel and dime services. However, we had a number of issues but the topping on the cake was when they argued with us that they couldn't pick up our yard debris. Our yard has several trees but nothing unmanageable or like we live in a forest of trees. They repeatedly used and compacted down our own yard debris bin rather than hauling (most or even HALF of it) away in their trailer, left MULTIPLE large piles of leaves all over our yard (many visible to our neighbors and quite unsightly to look at, and one time blocked our walking path from our backyard), and have proceeded to blow leaves into more/new piles OR the same piles, making them bigger instead of making progress by picking them up. When my husband confronted them about it, they proceeded to argue very angrily that its fall, they have multiple other contracts to follow doing ours, and that we have alot of debris and it cant be picked up every time- yet zero explanation and too many excuses for the fact that they're creating MORE piles or not picking up said piles or making them bigger, making our yard look terrible and us look lazy. Other issues: -Communication- we repeatedly had to get on them about pruning one of our trees that was hitting us in the face when walking up our hill with our kiddo. It wasnt until about 3 mths into the service that it was finally done. There here are still multiple areas (trees, bushes) that are unpruned, such as our rhododendrons that are overgrown now. - Punctuality- we started our services to be done every other Friday, but there were times where they wouldnt show up or our service would be moved to a different day without communicating this with us. One time, my son and grandma were playing in the backyard and got freaked out when one of them suddenly showed up. -Incomplete/poor work quality- we dont feel like there work was high quality at ALL. In addition to the lack of debris pick up as mentioned, we now have some very muddy, swampy areas to our yard where there was minimal grass (and sunk down from all the water) that were disregarded as well. My husband asked them on multiple occasions to please treat this, such as lay top soil, fertilize, seed etc or whatever was needed (at their own expertise) to get the grass to grow back and get thicker so we could walk the yard without sinking. Lastly, my husband had asked them at the beginning of the summer when we started services to focus on weed control, which they did do a good job with. HOWEVER, my (2 year old) son's caregiver found them spraying weed control in my son's play structure area (which is just rubber mulch anyway!) instead of asking first or hand pulling any small weeds coming through. When my husband asked them what was used, we got a very generic answer that it was "organic" and the name of the product, which upon review is still not safe around kids/pets and was still a carcinogen. NOT OK! Needless to say, we fired these landscapers and won't be burned again. I'll be putting my money into a bigger, well reviewed landscaping maintenance company this time, even if it is at a higher cost.
