The wines are among the best in the Blue Ridge Mountain area, plus the views are superb and exceeded only by the graciousness of the hosts.

We stopped by on a foggy/ rainy December Friday. We opted for the flight and were able to pick out our 4 wines- they only had reds and roses to choose from though. It was a bit pricey but the wine was good. The views were amazing! They had a nice porch and patio with seating that overlooked the vineyard and the mountains. They also had blankets that we could borrow to use during our stay which was nice since it was cold! There was also a fire pit but it wasn't lit while we were there. They had seating inside as well. There was a good selection of Ashe county cheese and crackers for purchase to snack on. Would go back! read more

We used to stay at a nearby BnB that has since closed and they told us about this place and near Morganton this is our favorite place to stay. Could it be better? For wine and view, NO WAY! Less than a 2 hour run from Charlotte and fire pits and covered seating make it the place to go year round. Relax, Leave the kids and Pets at home and just go relax. Place to romance the love in your life and music, games etc. I highly recommend this place and not far a drive to Morganton to catch lunch or Dinner or have charcuterie at Silver Fork. Just FYI they do not prepare it for you (Which I think is a little lame) but pick a meat, cheese, crackers and they will give you a loaner cutting board and Knife. Have fun and look at that view. If you go on the weekend, EXPECT it to be busy. read more

Very tasty wines & a beautiful location. Good selection & they have a few non-alcoholic drinks & beers for anyone in your group who doesn't like wine. Overflow parking lot has tons of space, but is a bit of an uphill walk, so if you have anyone with trouble walking drop them off before going to park. Inside has a few seats, but there are plenty of outside seats. We are looking forward to returning to Silver Fork next time we are in that area. read more

This is a great vineyard to come, relax, enjoy the view while tasting their excellent estate wines. The pictures say more than my words could ever convey. We drove an hour and a half, and it was worth the time invested to get there. Lots of comfortable seating. Shade provided for sunny days and the long range views are incredible. read more

Fantastic views!! Plenty of seating outside around the tasting room and also a cabana and a nice fire pit. We are not dry wine drinkers so we only had the Rose' but we liked it . Tasting area is kind of small so we sat under the huge shade trees. Came here on a Saturday to check it out. There was a music festival going on and that made it very busy. Parking was a challenge but besides that, everything was great. This is one of my favorite wineries in North Carolina. I like every single wine they carry, including their whites. This is a huge deal for me as I'm not a big white wine drinker. Their Rosé is fantastic. The reds are to die for, most especially the Cabernet Franc. The facility is lovely. Outdoor seating with a fire pit for cool evenings. Stunning mountain views, seating overlooking the vineyards. They also have a separate large event space for weddings, parties, anniversary celebrations, etc. We try to stop here every time we go to Asheville. It is only a few minutes drive off of Interstate 40. Trust me, it is well worth your time to stop. You will not regret it. The wine might be great. I'd love to be able to report on that, but unfortunately on the day we tried to visit, they chose to close at least a full hour before their actual closing time. We arrived comfortably an hour before closing, and it looked deserted. We checked their Facebook page and confirmed that they weren't supposed to be closed yet. We checked their website and confirmed that they weren't supposed to be closed yet. We sat in our car in the parking lot and called their phone number. The voicemail greeting confirmed that they were still supposed to be open. Yet the door was locked, and the lights were out. There was no sign indicating an unexpected early closing. So maybe they have good wine? I don't know. The staff apparently can't be bothered to keep their advertised hours. Maybe you'll have better luck. I recommend calling ahead to be sure that they'll actually, you know, be open when you get there. read more

What a GORGEOUS place. The minute you pull up you feel like you're somewhere else. The stunning views make you feel like you're almost in Italy. The tasting room is pretty big and had a variety of local cheeses and crackers to enjoy with wine. They also have a food truck and while we didn't get anything the food we saw coming out looked sooooooo delicious. Service was friendly and we enjoyed learning a bit about the local wine scene. Weekend trip to the mountains with a bunch of girlfriends and this place was on the to do list. I was a little apprehensive as other wineries I have visited in NC have honestly been a disappointment, but not this place. Located outside of Morgonton, the Silver Fork Winery is adorably situated on a hill overlooking rolling hills of vineyards. Very well manicured the place is amazing for an afternoon get away. Even better was the wine which was predominately done in a Bordeaux styling meaning everything was on the drier side. Would definitely stop back in if I were in the general vicinity. read more

We went here to celebrate their 2-yr anniversary. They had live music - classic rock - and a nice crowd. Before the music, we did a wine tasting. There were a couple that I didn't like, but I really enjoyed the two chardonnays and the merlot. The venue is amazing - lovely inside & out. We were able to enjoy our own food on the patio and sit at a high-top table. There are also patio tables and picnic tables, so you have your pick. We loved the place. The brunch they offer is also amazing. I really enjoyed the wines. The only part I did not like is we have been there twice. The Owner, a male is a great pour and give you info. The first time we go (the other owner) who was also washing dishes while doing our tasting. I will tell you if you are doing a tasting, do a tasting and leave the dishes for someone else. We stood there while the man on our right was give bigger tasting and got info. We had to start listening to the speech on his tastings as we just got the pour. When you pay for a tasting that is not a good taste to leave in someones mouth. We did have a better experience the second time though. I wish the tasting room was larger but it was fine. Great wine, music, and weekend food and music. Tastings are $7.00, and worth it. I left with three bottles (Cabernet, Merlot, Chambourcin). The Cab was my favorite. Their Merlot is good enough for me to like, a lot, and I'm not normally a Merlot drinker! The Chambourcin is really unusual, and flavorful. I need to come back when they have their best Chardonnay in stock. The Farm to Fork food truck fare is awesome! Grab some and relax with a glass. read more

You would expect to pay these prices at a high end establishment that offered many amenities. The views are nice if you also enjoy looking at outhouses and the owners home near by. This place is a let down. Silverfork also wants you the wear a mask and the owner came in and did not have one on while he used his phone. Do as I say not as I do. read more

The service came with a great sense of humor and they accepted our praise and criticism (not all palates are alike) with grace... Tastings are $7 each, and you get to taste ALL of their wines... I really enjoyed the Chardonnay (drinks more like a Sauv Blanc), the Chambourcin, and the Cabernet. We brought our own picnic (encouraged!)... there was live music (the Alligators... decent watered down classic rock... do not request the Doors... they don't know it.)... the sun was shining, the location and grounds are beautiful and clean with gorgeous views... We also love bringing our pup in the summer months and listening to live music. They often have fun events, one of my favorites is an outdoor movie series in the summer. The view and tasting room are definitely 5 star. We were able to try one rosé and three reds. My favorite was the Cab Franc. Loved the Chardonnay and my husband loved Four Dogs blend. We all enjoyed our wine tasting so much, we went back on Friday for desserts made with olive pile and balsamic vinegars, by Noel. Everyone was so gracious and warm- hearted. We felt among friends. Looking forward to visiting again next year and having the Chardonnay with the stream trout we caught. read more
