The staff are super kind and helpful. You can also reserve books using the online platform and then just get them off the reserved shelf and check them out. This feature is so helpful if you want an in/out experience. The library is what makes this City right. They are doing an excellent job!! The books are super awesome - you can find so many great ones, and they pull from other Oregon libraries so you really aren't limited to the books at this location. A fat thumbs up to this library and everything it has to offer. Also - don't forget the cultural pass you can reserve. It was a great way to take your children to local attractions without paying an entry fee. What a great educational opportunity!!!!

The printing is a great deal as well. My favorite thing about this library though is the Friends of the library store to the right when you first walk in. You can donate books there and they sell them for very cheap as well. I just got two books on my wish list for $3 each and they appeared to be brand new! My mom said they used to have a cafe and she misses that part- but I wasn't here during that time.

The attractiveness and ergonomics of the interior made a very favorable impression on me. There seem to be plenty of places for plugging in laptops, including some one-person rooms with doors. Very quiet, even the children's section. The thought-provoking titles on the new nonfiction shelves were of a caliber I would have expected in a Midwestern college town. The new building is connected by interior corridors to the old Carnegie building to the north. The architectural millwork in Carnegie libraries is normally pretty utilitarian and there was not much in evidence, other than a very fine balustrade of iron scrollwork topped with a polished brass tube. The entire facility is two stories, with an elevator and rest rooms on both floors. Parking is on nearby streets or in a rather small dedicated lot.

There are always odd looking people walking around. So I ventured into the library to find a nice quiet and clean place. The first thing you notice is that the building is old and it shows it. From the looks it has a ton of books but once you start looking you find out that isn't true. The books are all dated and hard to find, most of the good book must be ordered. Woodburn in a Hispanic town so it's not a surprise that a lot of the books are in Spanish. The children section is missing many classic kids' books. Overall I was a little disappointed but it is a small city library. They do have free Wi-Fi and the employees are nice.

I wish I knew her name! She is just fantastic with all the children. We have only been about 5-6 times so far, but my daughter that is 1.5 years old just loves it! Motion Monday's are so cool! It's music and dancing! It gets pretty hot in that room so wear layers so you can peel off as it warms up. Story times seem like they always include a craft at the end, which my daughter is just barely old enough to start enjoying. This is such a great thing our community library puts on. I am so thankful for it. It's awesome to see the amount of kids and active parents that show up! Our little library is truly a gem. They also have a great children's section in the library. My daughter loves to go over there and play and read books. Another perk to the library is their free wifi and computers they have. It's just an all around neat place. If you haven't utilized our great community resource, I highly suggest you do!!

The staff members were uniformly knowledgeable, patient and helpful. The building and furniture is comfortable and pleasant. A number of the work tables are near electrical outlets. The library appears to have a good collection of books although that was not the purpose of my visit.

Even inside this small city library there are wood carvings on the shelves and a distinctly cozy feel. But being a small community library, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles I'm used to seeing in the surrounding areas. The hours vary daily and the library is closed on Sunday and Monday. And unfortunately for me, they do not participate in the Oregon Library Passport Program. So no lending materials to those that don't live in the community. I am sure city residents will give it a higher rating, but for a visitor the services are a bit limited. Visiting on a quiet day, I had a nice interaction with the librarian and there are materials about Mt. Angel available in the vestibule.

On a return visit I was not as impressed with staff civility. The building itself was handsome and well-designed, with exposed hammer beams and excellent ergonomics, a tribute to city management. Dead quiet when I was there. The fiction holdings seem conventional, newish. For fine journals they have "The Economist" and "The New Yorker". The nonfiction holdings looked strong for a small library and the new nonfiction books demonstrated a remarkable breadth of intellectual interests, and my admiration was only increased by a return visit. Many people nationwide have dreams of moving to Oregon towns and they might well entertain thoughts about what the neighbors will be like. What I have seen on the nonfiction shelves would indicate there are penetrating thinkers in this community. In the foyer there is a small bulletin board and shelving for a wide range of brochures explaining local services, attractions, etc. Would give five stars, but for it being a smallish library and a staff I don't have the measure of yet.
