Looks like there are some good hiking and mountain bike trails there. There is also an outfitter nearby where they do guided horseback rides. We had been here a couple years ago after having lunch at the Black Bird Cafe in town, a good spot for burgers and a beer. The trading post has lots of turquoise and copper related rocks and more glass pin electric wire insulators than you could ever imagine. Glass pin insulators were used to insulate electric line and telegraph line wires from support structures that hold them off the ground. The period from 1875 to 1930 might generally be thought of as the "heyday" of the glass insulator. Hundreds of millions of these glass "bells" were produced during this time. Thay also have a small animal pen at the Trading Post that has a llama, goats, and various birds. You can buy feed in the store for $4 to feed to the animals. There is a viewing area just outside the Trading Post where you can check out the nearby riverbed an a few rock formations in the distance.

Cowboy Red is in a lovely old cottage with a garden in the front and they sell jewelry and other cute things, but the big draw is ***VINTAGE COWBOY BOOTS*** for really great prices. I have been wanting a pair of cool looking, worn boots for more than a decade -- and this shop had literally hundreds of pairs of boots to try on. I ended up with two pair of boots, my decade long search is over! I'll be back!
