This used to be a fairly priced golf course, but after the recent price hikes I must post a review…read more They charge $52 to play and the course is in terrible condition, there is no water or any kind of beverage cart anywhere in the course. To add to it the pro shop workers are always disrespectful and rude. I had a good score here today but the condition of the course is unacceptable for the price. There a many other reasonable golf courses in the area.

It would have been a nice touch to have a drink menu on the table so we were able to decide on that before they arrived. Drinks were received, and it tasted like they topped off a third of their Tom Gore Cab with water. I know what a red wine tastes like, and this one tasted like a 33.3% profit margin. We kicked it off with an ant-size, overpriced portion of Bacon Wrapped Scallops. While the scallops were tender, the heat level on the chili sauce was kicked up to such a level that it would have been nice to at least have a glass of water on the table presented with our drinks. The appetizer was followed up with a Lobster Ravioli (again, overpriced) that was akin to something you'd find on the shelf at Pet Smart. It had *that* kind of seafood smell- the kind that makes you wonder if they're ever looking at the expiration dates on their products before throwing them on a plate and slopping a heavy cream sauce on top. No relief there whatsoever. In addition, we had the ribeye and requested a medium rare. The steak we received was not only completely flavorless, but WAY overdone. It took a solid minute to chew a single piece. And somehow, the steak was cold? I don't blame our server one bit, she was lovely and eager to please. She was very attentive once she was told she had guests. I did however see several instances of unprofessionalism with the front of house staff. Leaning over guests and kissing them on the back while you have your serving uniform on? Someone needs to communicate how to behave on the clock. It just was an overall uncomfortable experience, and I expect more from Mayapple- which was a previous mainstay of mine and always one of the first places in the area I recommended to work colleagues. I'd say, our meal was worth maybe $20 bucks as a whole- but we ended up with a whopping $90 check for two Entrees and an app. Never again. Get it together, management.

I came here back in July with my father and brother for a round of disc golf. In my opinion, this…read moreis a challenging course; but I have only been disc golfing for one year now. Course Layout: The course is situated inside of a pretty heavily wooded area and features a wide variety of challenging shots from vast changes in elevation, to blind shots, to hard dog legs, to a combination of all of the above. Add to that some water hazards, some dense vegetation, and some challenging pin positions and you have a heck of a course. That said, I played extremely well on this course for hittin' it up for the first time. It tested all of my skills, and also challenged me intellectually as well. For me, I seriously had to consider all of my shot options before venturing forth. Just because a particular shot looked easy, didn't mean that it was. With some holes having a water hazard as a back drop, some with massive elevation changes, and some with sloped hills where the baskets were -- nothing was ever as simple as just walking up and throwing your disc. This is a well crafted course Course Layout: 5 / 5 Venue: This course is situated within the Middlesex Township Park in Carlisle. It was hard to find for us the first time because it was our first time in the area, but you want to turn into your first turn, if your coming from the direction where the park is on your left. For us, the venue was very peaceful, and seemingly in the middle of nowhere. There was nobody else on the course, and it was pretty well marked. Each tee box had a pretty detailed sign and each basket had an arrow or some indicator to guide you to the next hole. Be wary though, the bugs here are ANNOYING and brutal in the summer. They will fly in your eyes, your hair, your mouth, your nose, your ear, and any other exposed orifice that they can find. They are the small little eff'ers too, that swarm your face every chance they get. Sun glasses are a must here, even on overcast days. Venue: 4 / 5 Tee Pads / Baskets: These are a big pro of the course. The tee boxes / pads are perfect. Very well laid, long enough for someone with several steps in their mechanics, and they are slightly grooved so you don't have to worry about falling on your butt, even in wet conditions. The baskets are equally as perfect. They are in excellent condition and are the standard for disc golf catchers in the disc golf world. Tee Pads & Baskets: 5 / 5 Signature Holes, etc: This course has a lot of brutally awesome holes. I think it was hole four-ish that featured a hard dog leg left at the bottom of a steep decline, then the tee basket was across a small bridge. Throw your drive too far ( like me), end up down in a giant ditch / creek. There are several other holes on this course that are definitively unique as well. There is a hole with a unique pie wedge-shaped tee pad that gives you the distinct option to play the hole to the right or the left. I played it to the left, and highly recommend that as your course of action -- even if you don't have a 'flick'. Then there is hole 16 or 17. It is a beautiful and scenic shot that has you firing a drive through a picturesque fairway, then crossing a ditch/creek, to then go up a sharp elevation change. Signature Holes, etc.: 5 / 5 Final Thoughts: This may be my favorite local course as it presents such a wide variety of different shots and situations. You will come away from playing here feeling exhausted, both mentally and physically because this course challenges you. Also, it is quite a hike inside these woods. With all the changes in elevation and all of the rough terrain, you will most definitely be getting a work-out. This course is almost perfect, it just suffers from what some other courses suffer from -- angry, little bugs that like to fly in your face...constantly. Despite that, I highly recommend this course.

It's a full 18 hole course, with several long tee boxes for an additional challenge! Local volunteers keep the course well maintained and I've never had a bad experience here (except the occasional lost disc!) Coyote Hills hosts several major disc golf events each year, including an ice bowl in the winter, a tag league from spring through the fall, an ace race in the fall, as well as local and state championship competitions. Players of all ages and skill levels come and enjoy a great time of fellowship together and I've always felt welcome, no matter who's playing. As a park, it's a beautiful hike through the woods too! They also have basketball courts, a splash pad, and equipment for the kids. There's also a nice pavilion and township building that can be rented for events!

Midway Bowl had been advertising a "$2 Tuesday Mardi Gras Edition" on social media and honestly…read more.. cheap bowling plus themed fun sounded like the perfect way to celebrate Mardi Gras, unwind after work, and laugh my way through a Tuesday night with my adventure buddy. Say less. I was READY. Being the responsible planner that I am, I tried to reserve a lane ahead of time online...only to be prompted to pay $70 to reserve one bowling lane. On $2 Tuesday. My brain immediately went, "Ma'am, something is not mathing here." So instead of rage-clicking checkout, I messaged Midway Bowl for clarification. To their credit, they responded quickly and explained that daily specials are first-come, first-served only and can only be redeemed in person. Slightly annoying if you're driving any distance, but, we decided to roll the dice and show up anyway. We walked in and I was fully hyped for Mardi Gras bowling. I had been talking about this for DAYS. And then... Front desk guy: "No clue what you're talking about. Maybe the bar." Me, internally: Sir. The Facebook post. The graphics. The vibes. The expectations. None of this was a fever dream. Because literally, HOURS before I walked in the door, they posted on Facebook: "Today is the day! Come join us from 6-10 pm for our Mardi Gras themed $2 Tuesday!" I did not dream this up! But okay. It's fine. I'll throw my own Mardi Gras party in my head. No problem. There were Mardi Gras-themed drink names at the Sparetime Lounge bar, but it was packed thanks to trivia night, so we pivoted to snacks and bowling -- which ended up being the real MVP move anyway. Let me tell you about the snack bar because WOW. Two orders of tacos (four tacos total at $1 each), six boneless wings in garlic parmesan sauce ($2), a 12" pepperoni flatbread pizza ($8), and two fountain sodas ($3 each) came to a grand total of $20.84. And the food? Actually GOOD. Not "this is acceptable for a bowling alley" good -- legitimately good. Also shoutout to the snack bar staff member who immediately understood what I meant when I mentioned the $2 specials, because for a minute I thought I had collectively imagined the entire promotion. Bowling itself was an absolute steal -- two games plus shoe rentals for $12 total. And I have to say, Midway Bowl is probably the cleanest, most modern bowling alley I've ever stepped into. Bright, welcoming, lively -- none of that sad, dusty bowling alley energy. Someone clearly cares about this place. So here's the deal: the marketing got me excited for a full-on Mardi Gras themed experience, but in reality, it was just regular $2 Tuesday bowling with some festive drink names floating around. Which is totally fine -- just not quite the "Mardi Gras Edition" I had built up in my head. Would I go back? Absolutely -- just with adjusted expectations and maybe my own beads next time. They're celebrating their 70th anniversary, and it shows in how well they maintain the space. And honestly? Cheap bowling, good food, and a night full of laughs is never a bad time.

It comes close to inedible. First, breakfast....over cooked eggs, and I know that they have to be liquid pasteurized eggs, but they are so over cooked, held too long in a steam table are hard and awful. Saturday lunch, some they called grilled chicken - NO sign of grill marks, but a steamed half breast, in some sort of fluid, covered with dry herbs that made the chicken looked grey. The other option, heavily breaded chicken "tenders" and cold french fries. NO vegetarian options are EVER offered. Saturday dinner, something called roast beef. As an experience food service professional again, this product is not roasted, it is a frozen pre cooked "pot roast" it was "painted black:" with some sort food coloring. Served in a pool of think brown sauce. Inedible. The other option? Fried fish triangles. Fried food offered two times in the same day. Side dishes? Instant mashed potatoes and woody frozen asparagus. I ate asparagus. The potato was unseasoned and tasteless This is about the 10th time I have attended weekend events for 10 years and the food gets worse every year, with the possible exception of a few years ago when it seemed they actually hired a cook. On the other side of business management, there is SO MUCH WASTE, large bowls of condiment packages - financial waste as well as trash. AND after years of attending - they sTILL USE STYROFOAM ! WHY! They have a dishwasher! Plates and real flatware - but use gross styrofoam cups and bowls for salad WHY! AND I have addressed my issues with management many times in the past, I have offered my services to create a plan to save money and offer better quality food. One more thing, this place is in the HEART of farm county in PA. THERE is NO reason the food sound be this bad
