Course overall was in decent shape. Fairways weren't as good as I'd expect and a number of the greens were littered with balls marks, etc. For $85 in this area, was hoping for much better. Great layout, but not in the condition I'd expect for the price. read more

The course is in great shape koodoos to the ground crew, but they need a starter an or ranger. The course is always back up , sometimes as much as 3 foursome on a tee and people waiting in the fairway. If you play there be prepared for a 5 to 5 1/2 hour round. Watching a great course go down the drain. Nickel and dime policies to give the customer a less than warm and fuzzy feeling. 2.5% upcharge for credit card. Pay for lesson, charge you $6.50 to warm up w a bucket of balls. Prices have increased constantly since great life and brown golf have taken charge. Restaurant and bar seldom open. If the goal is less play and charging more to reduce the number of golfers, they're successfully turning this into a pedestrian course. In mho. M read more

A good addition to the rota of courses in the midstate. Have played here since it opened about five years ago. I used to call it the poor man's Hershey Links (now closed). The course has a nice links setup with good course conditions - fairways, rough, and greens (huge) are good and the bunkers have nice soft sand. Pro shop has a nice selection of stuff and the restaurant is pretty decent. Golf wise, several of the holes are pretty challenging with a few blind tee shots. I know this course gets its fair share of out of state players evidenced by the number of MD license plates. Practice facility is top notch with full range and short game practice area. Affordable rates for what you get. Course is walkable for those inclined. Play here - you won't be disappointed!! read more

This review is only for the clubhouse; we had an event there for a birthday party there. Nobody golfed. The place is very pretty on the outside, though the smokestack from PG&E in the background is really something from an environmentalist documentary. It's a bit disconcerting and just looks like a bad idea. Inside, the venue is "fine", but it has the typical "ugly conference room" carpets. Nothing really special about the interior appointments. Not modern enough to be modern, not classic enough to be classy. The service was just okay. No problems of any kind, but nothing noteworthy or special. The food that was provided was decent. People loved the crab dip. The meatballs were pretty much IKEA meatballs, they just tasted "retail". The grilled vegetables were cold and the charcuterie tray was fine, but nothing that unique. All-in-all, you could do worse. But I can't say that this was a particularly impressive event space. Attention to detail was just lacking. read more

Love this course Recently left my range finder in the golf cart and low and behold the next day they called and said they had it. How they knew it was mine is beyond me but I'm grateful! First time here. Beautiful course. Clubhouse was nice. Food at the pub was delicious. All of the employees I encountered were so incredibly nice and helpful. The course is challenging but fun to play. Really was a great experience. Will definitely visit when I'm in town again. read more

The course here is beautiful! I love the driving range as well. However the food/service at he clubhouse/ restaurant does not live up to the rest of the place. Despite having a country club feel the menu is far from something from a country club. The menu is small, which is not always a bad thing, but here it isn't anything to write home about. The food they do serve isn't great. The best thing they have is the all you can eat fish and chips on Fridays. Which has gone from one Friday a month to every Friday to some Fridays. Service unless you sit at the bar is very very slow for how small the place is and having 3 waitresses on. read more

Stopped here for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised by the food. I had the Cuban on sourdough with house smoked pulled pork and it was delicious! My friends had the fish tacos and a burger with the soup of the day which they both said were great! Wasn't crowded and the service was perfect. Didn't have room for dessert but our waitress said they make their own so that will be a must-do for the next time. read more

What a difficult course... sheesh. My boyfriend brought me here because the twilight price is right: $19/pp after 4pm. Not bad.. not bad. The greens are well maintained and kept but they are super fast. Be careful in putting too much umph behind your shot though. But if your not a very great golfer, if you hit it low and hard enough on the greens, it will roll for another 20 feet or so. Overall, its a pretty nice place in the small town of Manchester. Royal Manchester is a fine new golf course that opened one year ago. The bent grass greens and fairways make this challenging course a real delight. Plan on taking a few extra balls as the long grass off the rough will swallow an errant shot. There is a very nice clubhouse that can handle groups up to 180 or so. Green fees during the week are reasonable and high on weekend mornings. A driving range has opened and golf lessons are available. It should be on your list to play a couple times a year. read more

This review is regarding response of the pro shop in getting a gift card I purchased as a birthday gift. Ordered on a Wednesday, said they'd get in the mail that day (figured it wouldn't go out until Thursday which means I should have received it Saturday or Monday at the latest (Friday was a holiday)). Hadn't received it by Tuesday, called and said they'd have the person who handled it give me a call the next day. Received gift card 1 week after ordering it; received phone call on Thursday - found out the gift card didn't get into the mail until Monday (boo). Staff very pleasant on the phone but just not happy with how long it took them to actually take care of my purchase. read more

Without a doubt, my favorite area course. Always in great shape, challenging but not overly so for most. Great greens, normally fairly fast & roll very well. Nice practice area with mats & grass. Definitely play there if possible. read more

Played with some high school friends on a weekday and was looking forward to a fun and relaxed round, but this was not to be. At the 9the hole, the "Ranger" came around and told us that we needed to pick up the pace, which we had no problem with, and in fact tried to do. In fact one member had to leave and we became a threesome and noted that at no time after that did we see anyone on the hole behind us. By the 16th hole the "Ranger" showed up, and once again told us to pick it up, to which we replied that we were watching and there was no one on either of the two holes behind us, and asked him to please check and to explain how we were holding anyone up. His response was that didn't matter that no one was behind us because the group in front of us was a full hole ahead. By the time we got to the 18th hole, we had to wait for our second shot because the group ahead was still on the green. When we left, I asked the "Ranger" again to explain how we were holding anyone up and asked what the expected rate of play was and he said 4 1/2 hours so I noted that we had played in slightly under 4 1/4 hours, and had to wait on the 18th. Nice course, but expensive with a terrible customer service attitude. I won't go again and would not suggest it to anyone just out to enjoy a round with friends. read more

Started with searching the website and seeing an Easter special stating $59.95 before 10:00 am and $49.95 after 10:00 on Easter Sunday. So I booked our 4some 2 weeks out and never checked the website again. When we got there they charged us $62 dollars and when we checked on the website of course the special wasn't there. They wouldn't honor my request and charged us the full $62 bucks. So keeping in mind I feel like we already overpayed, the rest of the day wasn't much better. Anything off the fairway is a lost ball. Grass is so high. If you are a very good golfer (low 80's) it is probably a decent course to play, but if you shoot 90's or don't break 100, plan on 20 stroke higher scores and an a half dozen or more lost balls. Also the pictures on the website are misleading as there is only 1 pond that you see for 2 holes, the rest of the course is dry. I was very disappointed and could have played 2 courses much closer to where I live for that price. read more
