I stayed at the Silken for a work conference because it was recommended by the conference organizers, and because I had a good experience with Silken in Barcelona.
This place was fine, but in no way outstanding. It is clean and comfortable, without the fancy see-through bathroom they have in Barcelona. The main downsides are that the Wifi is quite slow and the hotel is basically not near any place I wanted or needed to go, even the conference venue! I am still wondering to this day why they would recommend such a remote location and I will do more research before trusting conference organizers again! You basically need 30 minutes by foot or metro to get anywhere, and the metro stops running rather early, especially for Spain (around 10:30pm). If you're driving or using cabs this might be a lesser inconvenience.
If I ever go back to Valencia, I will stay in the old city, where most of the restaurants, night life and sights are located. read more
