Here we are in Spain! Right at the heart of the charming city of Seville. Where historical flamenco dancing and gorges us historical castles are. We come to a cute hotel of the silken al Andalusia palace. Location- Avenue de la Palmera 41012 Sevilla Spain Interior- modern and chic. Nothing fancy but a decent stay. Lots of red and white with wooden flooring. The hotel is simple yet spacious. I was impressed on the cleanliness of the hotel. Everything looked polished and waxed. Rooms- the rooms were spacious and modern. Simple and clean. The window view we had overlooked the city. Though the city view was visible the streets were not noisy. The couches and bedding were plush and comfy. The wall art was Spanish abstract of flamenco dancers which I thought was beautiful. Service- always stocked with necessities, toiletries and you will always find clean towels and freshly made beds. Even outside the room the staff are always helpful and most of them speak English or another language besides Spanish. Always friendly faces smiling and willing to give advice on where to go, how and tips for travel. I suggest if you are going to Seville Spain silken andalous is the hotel to book. Viva Espana!!

    Hotel room fidge. No thanks.

This hotel offers the basics and comfortable for what is, a hotel of the beaten path, far enough away from the main tourist attractions. If you're out of shape or not very physically active then this is probably not the hotel for you, it might not even be the vacation for you if have limited mobility or can't walk very far. If you're not up for the physical demands it is recommend you find a hotel that is closer to the attractions. There are plenty of taxis stationed right outside of the hotel at the ready to take you to your destination, although reasonable it isn't the cheapest way to get around. We relied primarily on Tussam bus routes to get to the main attractions. Take note that the buses you'll most likely depend on are the #3 and the # 34. However, we used the #3 exclusively as it picks you up down the street from the hotel. As you step out of the hotel lobby walk left passed the taxi cabs for 2-3 minutes and the bus stop will be on the right. There is Tussam app available if you plan on using the bus to get around. A bus ride will cost you 1.40 euro. The hotel does offer a few restaurants. Although we chose to eat primarily at the city center and a few local spots, on our very last day we ate at the hotel's overrated and pricey buffet style breakfast. Let's just say for the money it wasn't all that. Behind the hotel take about a 10-15 minute walk and you'll find a super market and plenty of restaurants were you can dine with the locals. As for the hotel staff, most were pleasant and eager to help. There were a few dead beats but you'll find those anywhere you go. There is a tourist information booth across from the check in desk. We found them useful with basic questions about cuisine and other local customs. Overall great hotel , just too far from the main attractions. It's about a 59 minute walk to the city center at a brisk pace. Ask us how. We noticed the police was frequently hanging out in the lobby in the morning during our stay. We didn't notice any unruly guest or any signs criminal activity. As Americans, we kind of felt like we were being watched by the KGB. Regardless, we felt pretty safe in Spain.

Absolutely fantastic, beautiful and luxurious. I loved this place when I visited Seville with my parents. The hotel is super modern and the location is great. There's a bus stop less than a block from the hotel, yet if you wanted there always taxis around to get you into downtown. We stayed for three nights, but I would have been willing to stay much longer. I didn't use the spa facilities, but from what I heard other guest saying, they are to die for and worth every €. I would recommend enjoying the hotel for any time that you visit Seville. If and when I return, I will be sure to stay here. The only negative is that the breakfast is quite expensive, and they have a significant conference facility, so sometimes it can be quite crowded.

My husband and I spent…read moreone night in Sevilla in October and he picked the hotel because he had visited the city previously. Once we arrived in Sevilla, it was pretty easy to find. We dropped off our rental at the airport and hopped on the bus that took you into the city. We got off at the San Sebastian stop and walked with our suitcases a few blocks up to the hotel. I also liked that it was walking distance from many of the sights we wanted to check out. We were able to walk to a Flamenco show, the Real Alcazar and the Cathedral. We also took some scooters to Plaza España. The hotel itself was more so a blocks of rooms in a neighborhood square connected with a labyrinth of courtyards and gardens. The rooftop was really neat, too. There are different levels where you can lay out in the sun near people or more privately. There is a pool that looked neat but we didn't have enough time to get in before our show. The hotel itself is clearly very old (by American standards at least) but well preserved and beautiful. The hotel piano bar in the second floor is a must see, too. Don't miss it! The rooms were surprisingly modern. The bathroom was very spacious. The bed was a little firmer than I would have liked but it wasn't a deal breaker by any means. I would definitely stay at this hotel again!

I was grateful for the valet parking, not so much by the €25 a day charge. The building itself seems to be a collection of buildings spread around a number of internal and external courtyards. Our room was accessible via a long and twisty underground tunnel that stretched for at least 300m passing the spa, various bric a brac bits and pieces, statues, fountains, peculiar display areas that may, or may not, have been shops or small boutiques. I've no idea. It's almost impossible to describe how bizarre and yet how charming it all was. After a while, though, I have to confess it became a bit of a schlepp. Our room was small but the bed was extremely comfortable with a queen size bed and a decent sized, well provisioned, en-suite bathroom. A piano bar on the first floor was both elegant and comfortable and we repaired there each evening after dinner in one of the fabulous restaurants within walking distance. The hotel also opened out onto a small plaza with plenty of outdoor bar and coffee options throughout the day and into the night. A couple of minutes away was the Cathedral and Alcazar as were numerous shops, bars, restaurants and ice cream parlours (a must). I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for a stay in Seville but leave the car at home,

It was very convenient to take in the sights of the Espana Plaza. Other sites and restaurants are anywhere from a one to fifteen minutes walk away depending on what your interests are. The breakfast in the hotel is awesome as there are many options to choose from hot/cold options, various breads/pastries and various fruits/vegetables. The only disappointment we experienced at the Melia Sevilla Hotel was in the onsite restaurant, Quimera for dinner. Although the food is very good, their spontaneous appetizer option was offered in a forced payment manner. The first visit for dinner we were served croquettes by a waiter as a complimentary appetizer and we said we ordered croquettes, he stated these are complimentary. However, on the bill there was a $7.50 charge for 3 small croquettes that we did not request as we had placed an order of croquettes as part of our dinner option in which we received six in the dinner order. Ok, you thought we would have learned our lesson and we did. On our second visit for dinner, another friend joined us who accepted a piece of bread, but the three of us from the previous visit stated we didn't want bread as we ordered dinner options that included bread "chicken and waffles"...which are by the way very good. Again when the bill came, we were charged $10.00 as if each person received bread although only one person accepted "a" piece of bread from the waiter. We could understand if they placed a bread basket on the table with enough bread for each person to charge each person for bread "provided." But NO, they have a RIDICULOUS policy that if one person receives one piece of bread from the waiter, they charge the entire party for a piece of bread. We are so grateful that our fourth guest refused the "FORCED APPETIZER" due to the waiter literally plopping the appetizer onto the table without us asking for it and describing it as spicy which our guest does not like. Therefore, the waiter retrieved the appetizer from the table and no additional fee was charged this time as the rest of the party also refused the "FORCED APPETIZERS." Unfortunately, on our last evening in town, we declined to dine in the Quimera restaurant onsite which based on the lateness of the day would have been convenient and we dined elsewhere in the city.
