They gave me the worst customer service out of all the bridal shops I have been to. I will not be shopping from them, even though I saw the dress I am finally wearing at their shop and it is very close to home. Their dresses are by no means exclusive and I have bought my Maggie Sottero from another bridal shop where they actually care about their customers. If this the way they are planning to treat me before they actually have my money, I can't begin to imagine how awful their customer service will be once I have paid up.
Here is my experience with them:
My MIL and I arrived perfectly on time for my appointment, planning to buy my wedding dress within two days as I was getting close to the 6 months mark for my wedding. I introduced myself to Elaine, who had no clue who we were and needed to take all my details once again even though I had already provided them over the phone. Once she had figured out who we were and why we were there, I introduced my MIL who had come with me. MIL went entirely unacknowledged, Elaine didn't even bat an eyelid, or said hello to her, nor did she make eye contact.
We started to select some dresses to try on and when I came out of the dressing room, my MIL could barely see me, the shop i incredibly tiny and the only place to for her to sit was really far away from the mirror. I asked them to move the mirror closer to her several times and I think it was at that point when Elaine realised that my MIL was there.
We then tried another dress on and half way through lacing it up a bride walked in to collect her bridesmaids' dresses. Elaine decided to leave me there half naked while she took the payment. I'm quite easy going so I thought 'oh well, no biggie, just a quick card transaction'. She kept going back and forth, laced me up a little bit, then went back out to deal with the other bride, then back in to pin me up a bit more. 10 minutes later I still didn't have the dress on! Why not finish lacing me up so at least I can see the dress properly while I wait? Or do the card transaction quickly so the other bride doesn't have to wait? Other bride and I made eye contact and tried to stop ourselves from laughing.
She kept interrupting me every time I had a comment on a particular dress and I felt extremely patronised. My MIL's opinions went entirely unacknowledged. Every time MIL said something it was like she was part of the furniture. If I bring someone with me to my appointment I would expect them to at the very least be greeted.
The place was so small and narrow that at one point the attendant tripped over a dress, nearly crashed against a mirror and I had to catch her!
To top things up, I asked for a Particular Maggie dress that comes in silver. 'But Maggie Sottero doesn't do dresses in silver! What nonsense!'. Eeh, yes some dresses come in silver, silly woman, just look at the website!
Needless to say, I found the exact dress somewhere else. read more
