They're open daily 7:30am - 11pm. All-day family ticket (families with children up to 14 years old) is 31.60 euro. Relax in the whirlpool, steam room and open-plan sauna area with its Finnish sauna, sanarium and steam bath and open-air cool-down area with plunge pool. Everything is included in the admission price. The Westbad offers the ideal combination of facilities - enjoy stamina training in the 25-meter sports pool or tone up with aqua-gymnastics in the non-swimmers' pool in a way that is easy on the joints. Dive into the large adventure pool, brave the 60-meter water slide, get carried along by the flowing water torrent or simply enjoy the waterfall. Take it easy in the whirlpool, the steam room or open-plan sauna area which are all included in the pool admission price. The center's large outdoor pool has the warm water which is enriched with Bad Reichenhall salt water. We had a great time relaxing in the open-air with the Jacuzzi seats and massage jets. The pool also has a lawn area for sunbathing in summer with a naturist zone. The cafeteria offers a wide range of food and drinks for a snack. To anyone who complains that it gets busy during peak times I say, yes, but where DOESN'T it get busy during peak times? That's just the nature of peak times, and this place doesn't seem to be any worse. There are enough cardio and weights machines for everyone. The dumbbell situation is no worse than at any other gym, but they just got nice new ones, so that's a bonus. They have a nice warm-up/calisthenics area off to the side, and I've even noticed (though obviously not gone into) a hidden women's corner, I guess where the ladies can work with the lighter free weights without guys around. The only place where they really need improvement is the squatting racks. They only have three, and for a gym this size, they really should have at least one more. It would also be nice if the squat racks were in front of the mirrors instead of the Smith machines. That just makes no sense. I can't speak to the showers because I live close enough that I can just shower at home, but I understand that you need to pay 50 cents for a towel and something similar for shower use. Hey, at €16 per month, this place is still a steal. I'm a fan.

And here I was thinking that Sunday was supposed to be the "day of rest" ;). In any event, the gym space was adequate, the machines looked well maintained, and the area was not too crowded. If I could give them one suggestion, it would be to alternate TVs with actual TV shows and the other TVs with whatever McFit thing they were playing today. I did not use the shower facilities this time, but I'm sure if they are anything like the rest of the gym, they are equally as adequate. I'm looking forward to get my beach bod on!

A few highlights... Claudia the General Manager was fantastic. Our first night got pushed due to downed trees on the train tracks one city away, and she went above and beyond in helping us adjust our booking and fees. Vielen Dank Claudia!! The whole place was clean, quiet, and well styled. Very nice looking gym and sauna. Room was very clean, nice bedding and towels, and some helpful brochures and flyers for local eats (many choices within easy walking distance). They have a washer/dryer!! After a week of traveling around, it was time. And no coins required, which made this a wonderful perk. We grabbed some dinner in the onsite restaurant. Very nice and a super friendly staff. Try the oxtail soup.

The pool itself is very nice but not exactly what I was expecting. They have only three lanes marked for "sports swimmers", ie people who want to swim laps. Actually three lanes is supposedly a lot for Germany although it's pretty surprising to an American swimmer. Thus, it gets a bit crowded in the lanes during the summer, around noon and after work. Early mornings and 1pm are good times to go to get the pool more to yourself. They also do not have flags for backstrokers and their lane lines aren't colored so as to indicate where the wall is. They also have a sauna and a great diving pool, although I haven't tried either. The hours are very generous, to accommodate any schedule and they have a swim shop in the building in case you forget anything.

Can you imagine that they want to style your hair without washing your hair first? Without any clarification. And then ok, lets wash the hair but that was supposed to be done at the regular washing basin and also after they're done with the make up. And that they left you waiting for a half an hour between the make up and hair styling part. Overall, I thought that must have been a joke but that is what happened. In addition, they were searching for a hair dryer which turned out to be one of poor quality. And not to mention that they didn't even comb my hair before drying and that the stylist kept holding hair clips with her teeth. It also took some effort to do a few waves with the curling iron. In addition, each hair wave was sprayed (too) intensively. I left this salon speechless. Also, I needed to redo my make up, because the dark eye shadows were not blended enough. I don't want this to be understood as complaining about two stylists involved. I believe they did the best they could. I wanted to emphasize the low quality of these pricey services. It's hard to believe this is going on in Munich. Who sets the standards in this studio?I've tried many blow hair and wellness studios in different countries but this one I would not really recommend.
