Today I want to write a review about the Therme Erding. The world biggest water park|hot spring|spa and sauna. As there are international Yelpers reading my reviews I try to write in English today. The Therme Erding is divided into five different areas: - Tropical Spa - Waterpark with Wavepool - waterslide paradise Galaxy - Vitality Oasis (min. age 16) - Saunaworld (min. age 16, naked area) In addition you can choose about three different types of accommodations if needed: - Hotel Victory - Victory Guesthouse - Caravan Park If you enter the entrance you line up to pay the entrance fee. Here you have to decide how long you want to stay and what parts of the facility you want to use. If needed you can rent bathrobes and towels. After you paid (cash or with creditcard) you get an RFID-Tag for your wrist. Depending on what you booked you enter either the locker rooms for the Tropical Spa (including Galaxy, Wavepool, Vitality Oasis) or the locker rooms for the Saunaworld. Your RFID Tag locks and opens your locker (the number of the locker is printed on your tag). Here is one important note - especially for non European visitors. The Saunaworld (including the Saunaworld locker rooms) is a naked area. That means it is not allowed to wear clothes starting at a certain point (you will see the signs). This fact has already led to one or the other cultural shock. But that's part of European sauna culture. Of course you can wear a bathrobe or wrap a towel around your body. Furthermore over 90% of the Saunaworld is not separated according to gender (except a small ladies area with ladies only sauna). The minimum age to use the Saunaworld is 16 years. First I want to tell you what you get offered in the Tropical Spa with its Wavepool, Thermal springs water, Waterslides and the Vitality Oasis. On an area of about 27.500 square meters (9.000 inside - 18.500 outside) you find: - 27 slides with together more than 2700 meters (from very easy to super thrilling) - Wavepool with gentle waves - textile sauna - Whirlpools - Body treatments (like Massage etc. ) - and of course different types of restaurant where you get food & drinks The inner part of the Area is spanned by a big dome (56 meters in diameter) and can be opened halfway on warm weather conditions. All your consummations you can book onto your RFID-Tag and pay when you leave the Therme Erding. To prevent all visitors from drunk guests the stuff is only allowed to sell maximum three alcoholic drinks per person per day. That's a good decision if you ask me. Nevertheless you should try the Erding Weizenbeer! If you like a more private area you can book some private suites and lounges - please ask for it at the entrance where you pay your entrance fee. The second big area at Therme Erding is the Saunaworld. You can enter it directly at the entrance or you use the passage from the Tropical Spa to the Saunaworld (you get access with your RFID-tag) In the Saunaworld you find 30 different themed saunas and over 300 different beauty and spa offers. It is almost mpossible to tell you all the different amenities and styles of the saunas, steambaths, pools and relaxation rooms. You can choose from among "infusion sauna", "action sauna", "Roman sauna", or "steam bath". In 13 Infusion saunas infusion ceremonies with different fanning techniques take place several times each day. Masks, peelings, and other extras are available in nine action saunas. Three Roman saunas and two steam baths are waiting for you in the Roman Villa. After some of the infusion ceremonies you get for example a cold drink or an ice cream. There are body peelings with honey, salt or healing earth or masks with cocoa butter. You can bake bread rolls in one of the saunas - or - drink an Erdinger Weizenbeer in the men's only sauna (looks like an Bavarian pub). This all you find at an Areal about 13.600 square meters. The main building is covered under a glas roof that weights 260 tons and can be opened on good weather conditions. Of course there are a couple of restaurants for you to discover. (Thai, Steak, Italian) Like in the Tropical Spa you can rent some private lounges and suites in the Saunaworld too. How about a suite at the lake with a bottle of champagne included? Ask for it at the entrance. I can recommend the Therme Erding 100%. The stuff is friendly, everything is clean the prices are high but reasonable. If you ever plan a visit in Munich think about a day of fun in the Therme Erding. Despite the fact that this is the biggest Therme in the world it can get pretty crowded on special dates. So try to avoid the German holiday season, special Holidays (the time around Christmas) and be aware that on weekends there are of course much more visitors than on weekdays. So... if you're American, just know that swim suits are not only optional, they are prohibited in the saunas and adult pools. Anything relaxing you want to do will have to be done naked. That said. It was an awesome day, very relaxing. And helped me face my fears of being naked. Definitely use the body scrub when you go into the steam room, it left my skin very soft! read more

Just don't complain there are naked people. Because if that's not your thing, there are plenty of other areas at Therme Erding for you where you can keep your swimsuit on. Yelp is now urging me not to leave it hanging and show what I've got. This site brought to you in association with Therme Erding? Because if you head for the Thermenwelt ("spa world") then letting it all hang out is part of the program - for young and old, male and female, petite and portly. In fact, if you embrace the textilfrei concept and leave your hangups in the (co-ed) locker room, then you'll quickly forget your self-consciousness. In fact, you'll feel more uncomfortable wearing a pair of what the Brits call "budgie smugglers" (Speedos) - as the odd one out. Enjoy the FKK spirit but don't for a moment kid yourself that Therme Erding is focused on the principles of FKK. Especially the last five years, it has gone for the wallet's jugular vein. A suite? A mountain hut from Upper Bavaria with a DVD player and widescreen, for the day? Or a hotel for the night at twice the local rate? The pool bar is fun, especially if you're a little tipsy. It's an experience, propping up the bar in your birthday suit. My advice: don't go alone unless you're cruising - I can't give you any tips there but I've heard it's sometimes a thing. Recruit a friend if you're single; take your partner no matter how prudish they may be, and let the experience wash over you ... The on-site restaurants aren't all that great but you can get overpriced Thai street food or decent-ish Italian. There's a resto in the textile area that offers burgers, too. And please don't pee in the pool! read more

Went in late June 2019 with 5 friends and had loads of fun. Between pools and hot tubs and slides, there's plenty of choices for all ages. Staff onsite is friendly and saunas are great. A word of caution to non-European guests, sauna areas are clothing-free. Only downside for us: the pools were across the board not chilled enough - borderline warm. Otherwise this huge thermal spa is a go-to spot when you visit Munich. read more

This place is both expansive and expensive, but totally worth it (especially to make a day of it and pretend you're in the tropics instead of wintery Bavaria). The website advertises *36* acres of water park. There are also several sections that you can pay extra for. The general admission area is very large though, so you can easily enjoy yourself on that. You pay extra for: the nude sauna area (there are clothed saunas available in the general area) or the adult-only area (no kids splashing around!) which includes one pool, some mineral baths and a clothed sauna. The wristband keys given at the entrance are coded to what you've prepaid, and you pay for drinks or food by tagging the band and paying on your way out. I loved that they had a couple of bars poolside-- expensive, but nice not to have to leave the water. We went on a cold, rainy afternoon in November, so most of the outdoor features were closed, but the outdoor pools attached to the indoors were still available. I couldn't believe how far out one of them extended-- felt like a half mile! We had my young cousin with us, who wanted to play in both the wave pool (self-explanatory) and the Galaxy area (waterslides). I admit they packed a lot into a narrow and tall space! Seven stories to the top. There's varying minimum ages posted at the entry to each slide to indicate how terrifying/appropriate they may be for riders. Cousin's favorite was the Speed Racer, where you race down parallel slides to see who gets to the bottom first. Despite being indoors and fighting the sugared up teenagers up the stairs, this was quite fun, though hard on my aging knees after a few runs. Regulars buy season passes. Hotel guests appear to have free rein over much of the park. There's also a decently sized shopping area if you forgot swim trunks or want new flip-flops, and if you want to get some organized exercise in, we saw a couple aqua-aerobics classes in different pools lead by an instructor from the staff. Pro-tip: some slippery floors, so walk slowly. And don't bother drying off between pools (just get back in if you're cold!). You'll just soak your towel and by the end you won't be able to get fully dry. read more

Have been going to Therme Erding for years now - any and every time I have a chance to pass through Munich. We've been to perhaps 8 or 10 such establishments now, and this was is certainly among the largest with the most options for invigorating the senses! Have yet to try out ALL the saunas, but there are loads of them! Along with quite 'resting' rooms, various pools and jacuzzis, mineral baths, a lazy river, and a huge warm glass covered lagoon surrounded by palm trees! It's an all day event by the time find your lounge chairs, have a nice meal at the restaurant, schedule your massage, and settle up to the swim up bar with all the naked German hipsters! The point of a spa is to relax. But it was so overcrowded that it made relaxation impossible. There were lines to get into the saunas, no place to sit, and no available spots to lie down. It's a cool place, but just very, very over crowded. read more

I adored this place and spent an entire day there. I never left the textile free adults area so I cannot speak to the rest of the establishment, but this part was great. I booked a massage. It was overpriced a little bit, but it was nice. I did not try any food, but bought several drinks from the swim up bar. I never felt embarrassed about not wearing a swimsuit, everyone else is naked too. You just disrobe in the changing area and get going. The baths and saunas were great. I did not notice anything out of place going on, but couples did enjoy being together with kissing, etc. I only wish that someone visited with me. I will be back, but don't know when. read more

My naturalist friend told me about this place, and luckily it turned out I had a few hours to kill before my flight back to Chicago. This is massive! I didn't realize how massive and paid for the spa and the entire complex, which was a mistake since there was really only time for the spa/sauna. The nude section is bigger than any other spa you will see, and totally European discreet and pleasant, with a mix of themed rooms that are both traditional and fun (the best was the bakery that was decorated with pretzels, an open oven, and a bread basket with real bread to sample!). How fun is it to be totally free to go in and outside, go to a pool bar, a beach, all in the same space? The only think I regret is not bringing a towel and robe, for there went another chunk of money, it is quite expensive for that. The food is pricey but decent quality. It is amusing that the entire complex is in the middle of nowhere surrounded, quite literally, by cow pastures, nothing beats the scene of a bunch of naturalists on a porch eating break with the cows on the other side of the porch and local traffic going in between! read more

Wow, we were wowed by the park/spa, the scale of it, the facilities and the ambiance! We were in Vienna, Bavaria and Munich for 9 days prior to arriving at Thermal Erding and most families voted this as the best place for the entire visit! If you get to stay there at the Hotel Victory, stay there! It is totally worth it. The hotel price includes the entrance fees for all the guests and the towels and great breakfast. When you add it up, it is not much more than hotel nearby. With staying in the park, everyone can come and go and play as they like. They open till 11pm so no brainer for us. Kids enjoy the slides, we love the mineral bath and the face mask and different types of sauna rooms. Note the nude part costs extra 12 Euro but it was definitely an eye opening experiencve. There is an adult only clothed section, if you pay for the nude part, that covers the clothed part too. read more

Galaxy Erding - Great rainy day excursion for kids! - This was a family vacation. We did not visit the thermal baths, but we spent 7 1/2 hours at the indoor water park!!! Indoors, it doesn't look big since there are a lot of water slides crammed into a very small space, but it is amazing. There are also a series of slides outside as well. In addition to the slides, there is an indoor zero depth wave pool. There is an outdoor lazy river that is accessible from indoors that leads to an outdoor stage and a swim up pool bar. On weekends, the stage hosts concerts. There are a lot of outdoor lounge spaces for sun bathers. The temperature of the water was perfect. There is a hotel attached to the complex whose rooms overlook the wave pool. You can easily spend a day here. It was well worth the cost. I only wish there were more food options. They only had pizza. There is a restaurant next door, but it is only open to guests of the hotel. read more

Das "Thermenparadies" ist der absolute Reinfall, qualitativ wie auch preislich. Andererorts bekommt man für diesen Preis wesentlich abwechslungsreichere und differenzierter gestaltete Badeerlebnisse. Die Massenabfertigung und das mangelhafte Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis sowie fehlende Rabatte für Senioren, Studenten, Schüler, Zivis oder Familien wirken negativ. Um in das Saunaparadies zu gelangen, muss neben dem regulären Eintritt noch der Aufschlag für diesen Bereich bezahlt werden. Dadurch subventioniert man den Eintrittspreis für die reinen Badegäste, sodass diese mit einem niedrigeren, aber immernoch zu hohen Eintrittspreis gelockt werden können. Vermutlich würde dieser ohne diese Zwangssubventionierung weit über 40€ für die Tageskarte pro Person betragen. read more

Completly overcrowded, outpriced and unfriendly personnel! Because of the enormous amount of visitors they are sick of the guests and treat you like that. Especially the massage staff is very rude and ignore all complaints. In a nutshell: too expensive, too less service, too crowded as compared with the offer! read more

Pricey but worth it - We had an amazing time here at Therme Erding.It was the perfect spot for us - Mom and Dad could rest and relax and the kids could have fun. The place was huge and our 3 teenagers never got bored. If you have teens, you know that this is a feat in itself. The food was great, all 5 of us could find plenty to eat that we enjoyed and there were many healthy options. The kids enjoyed lots of the treats that were available as well. The water slides were fun - we even went on them with the kids. The staff here could not have been nicer or more helpful. All of them spoke english very well which made communication easy. My daughter even left a very nice necklace behind and they managed to return it to us in the US. In all, we had a wonderful time here. read more
