It was wonderful to meet him in person and express my appreciation. The restaurant features a contemporary design with indoor and outdoor seating. The open kitchen is directly behind the counter seating. We started with the Pumpkin Soup that our server suggested we split. It was amazing. My daughter ordered the Panzerotti pasta with blue cheese, plum and oyster mushroom. My choice was the Veal Fillet which was a substantial serving and incredibly tasteful and tender. The Pear Strudel was a perfect desert to end our meal. Excellent service, pricing and presentation. This restaurant deserves it own Michelin star.

We tried the Conchiglie pasta with scallops, asparagus, and bufallo cheese and the duck breast with carrots, cherries and feta cheese. Both came with deliciously creamy sauces. The buffalo and feta chesses gave the dishses a rich flavor. Total damage was EUR 40 for two entrees and two non-alcoholic drinks. That's not cheap, but not overly pricey for Frankfurt either. The interior decor was so-so. They have some kind of chair-theme going on, and you can even buy the chairs that are listed on their menu. Ironically, I didn't find their seating very comfortable. We also didn't like that they don't have an English menu on hand. That would be an easy thing to fix, if they wanted to... Reservations for this place are recommended as it gets quite packed on weekends and eve of public holidays.

This review covers the Bistro…read more Kronenschlößchen has two eateries, the top rated restaurant, and the somewhat less expensive "Bistro" downstairs which serves very high level cooking in its own right. This review covers the Bistro. Atmosphere is, as the Germans say, "Schlicht" and not quite as stuffy as the restaurant. Relatively small menu with big taste. We both had the braised pork cheeks as a starter and they were luxurious. For mains we had Pumkin raviolis and I had grilled Cod with sauteed boudin noir and apples. All dishes were excellent. The bistro has a limited wine offering compared to the restaurant but the available wines were lovely and the mark-up not extreme. Caveat: we had two glasses of Sekt in the lobby before the meal which cost €10 apiece. Service was impeccable. Two starters, two mains, a shared dessert, four glasses of wine, two glasses of sekt, and two bottles of water came to €151. As mentioned the Sekt was a bit high at €20. Probably rates 4.5 stars as we have had somewhat more impressive meals for that amount of money.
