Last year my PCP referred me to Dr. Signori's office (oncologist) due to seeing lesions on my femur…read morebone (leg) which a simple x-ray found. I googled lytic lesions and found nothing good in the findings, so I took my oldest son with me to the doctor - he's a nurse and knows medical terminology. I knew I was doomed and had cancer, I didn't want to know anything about it and that is why my son was with me. Dr. Signori looked at me and told me that this was secondary cancer (in the leg) and primary was somewhere else in my body. So, he sent me to get a Mammogram - I wasn't due for another until about 2 more months. Went for the Mammogram and yup - there it was. First thing is first. He sent me to a bone specialist and I had to have a titanium rod inserted into my Femur. Then I had to have radiation on my leg - I was in a lot of pain, I mean a lot. The Radiation Oncologist told me that radiation would help alleviate the pain. Initially I was in a wheel chair and by the time I was finished with the radiation I was walking with the assistance of a cane and no longer having excruciating pain in the leg! Now is the time to begin on the breast cancer. Dr. Signori began by giving me a cancer pill - this shrunk the tumor, but after about 4 weeks it slowed down. Okay, so now is chemo -ugh! Hate chemo!!!! I was on 3 different types of chemo and it made me very sick. Luckily my favorite sister was able to come over and spend nights at my house when I was not doing well. My white blood cell count spiraled down to a .03 - I had to stay in my house - no opening the door at all. No pets, no fresh flowers, no plants, no fresh fruit that I could not peel, no fresh vegetables, etc... I had to be extremely cautious about anything that could potentially give me any type of infection. As a matter of fact my son yelled at me because my brother and his wife came over during my low WBC count and I visited with them. I felt okay, but had to basically incubate myself from anything of the outside world. Not very much fun! Dr. Signori was very sensitive to my cancer and sickness. He reduced the chemo by one and added that one to the end - which extended my chemo - alright because this made it so I wasn't so sick. But, at one particular point my red blood cells were low and had to have 2 pints of blood - transfusion. I tell you I have been through the mill, but Dr. Signori and his office has made this horrendous experience a lot nicer. Having chemo I had it in his office - he makes it very comfortable for his cancer patients. The chemo nurses are just as outstanding as him. I went in earlier this week and he said he doesn't want to see me for 6-8 weeks - I told him I was going to miss him!!!! Of course, this is post tumor removal which he was able to reduce it by 1/2 the size, if not more. Love you Dr. Signori and his staff - they are beyond outstanding if you are looking for an Oncologist - which I hope you are not!

Years ago, I ended up in the hospital on a ventilator outside my net worth, and Dr. Ghani came personally to visit me and spoke directly with the doctors to ensure I received the best care possible.
