ABSOLUTELY FRUSTRATING--Oh, where to begin--first, you should know that you cannot call the office directly--there is a central booking department that books appointments for the several locations they have. You are placed on hold then when they finally pick up you better hope that you are not disconnected (as I was) because you will have to go through the process again. I made an appointment at the Sayville office for my 86 year old mother who is in assisted living. On the morning of the appointment I received a call that the doctor on duty had to clear her schedule because of an emergency--while not ideal, it happens--I was lucky enough to reschedule her appointment for the very next day, although I couldn't call the office directly, I had to deal with the ridiculous central booking center and was once again disconnected. When I finally got through, I was given a choice of times and decided to take the 10:30 am as that was the time she was originally scheduled for the day before. When we got there (at 10:15) there were already three people waiting in the waiting room--at around 10:45 the doctor came out and said that because she is the only one in the office, there is going to be a wait--which I really couldn't understand because it was still relatively early in the day and wondered how she could be so behind. A woman who had been there before us absolutely lost it because she had been waiting about 2 hours for an EMERGENCY--her son had a contact stuck in his eye--they told her to come in and they would take care of it, rather they let her wait for 2 hours...when she made a fuss, they finally took her (as they should have). We finally got in at about 11:30 a full hour after we arrived--my mother is slightly frail and it was a lot for her to deal with--the doctor was OK but the experience was awful--bad planning all around and why only one doctor in the office? Never again, I'd rather go to a smaller office with someone who answers the phone directly and puts patients first, not one that boasts they are tops on Long Island--the way they treat their patients is INSULTING--oh, and here is the best part--they have a sign posted in the office--if you don't cancel or show up for your appointment, you will be charged a $25 fee--however, they can let you sit in the waiting room for however long they want you to and you have no recourse...AWFUL....IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD. read more
