Horrible customer service. I made an appointment because I have something in my eye that's been bothering me for over a week. When I call in the lady was very nice and gave me an appointment for certain time, then the office calls me saying you need to be here before your scheduled appointment I said I'm sorry I can't I working. She said "well is not an emergency this appointment we gave you are for emergency only and you're fine, I have to save this spots for real emergencies" and then she stay quiet I said what do you want me to do! She said again this spots are for emergencies only and your situation is not an emergency. So Rude, so disrespectful. The riverhead office stuff are so much better! read more

The unfriendly, attitude from front desk staff makes You want to turn around and walk out the door. They are more interested in gossiping, talking about their work day and week outside of the office. People sitting in the waiting room waiting over an hour for their appointment should not have to be subjected to their gossip. But I deal with it because I really like Dr. Victor Giaimo , and his assistant. Otherwise I would not be back. read more

The doctors in this group are horrible the ones you need to avoid or Dr. Edward Marcus Dr. Nichols and Dr. Avni. I have had more damage done to my eyes by these people than any doctors ever done damage to me. I am now seeing a retina specialist in Manhattan just to get away from Long Island and these asses stay away so many complaints by patient while you sit in the waiting room talking to them. 3 to 4 hour waiting time just because they wanna overbook an office for one. read more

I am a longtime patient of Dr. Avni and SightMD in Port Jefferson, and am very satisfied with their care. I was surprised to see this global review against 3 doctors. I couldn't help but notice the reviewer has 5 inflammatory 1-star reviews and zero positive reviews. I hope he/she understands the responsibility one has when making such public statements. I had to change Doctors because I moved out east. This location is near by my new home. I have been going to eye doctors for the last 20 years related to diabetes. On my initial visit as part of the intake process you are asked to sign a electronic signature pad, but you are not shown given the documents you are signing. I have to trust they are not shady. After my first visit I was billed $50 for (refraction?) a non covered service by insurance company. My old Dr's did not charge me, they were happy with Ins payment and copay. On my next visit I asked that I be told if anything is not going to be covered before it is done so I can decide. They could not do that. "We don't know what your insurance will cover" I asked if they could forgo refraction but examine for diabetes damage. They said they have to but will not give me a prescription and not charge. After eye test by Tech, the Doctor checked my eyes through a microscope type device and said you are fine. I said is that it? He replied yes. My old Drs used several devices tied to computers showing images of insides of my eyes and actually compared from images from previous years. I felt short changed, not sure if I got a complete eye exam. Will find another or drive 70 miles to old Dr. read more
