Came on Monday. They were an hour late and I had to vome back Wednesday. It went relatively smooth Wednesday, but it got me when I had my mask beneath my nose, at the very end, they said they couldn't help me unless I put it over my nose. That causes respiratory problems, so I said I can get my face shield. I got my shield and they said it has to be a mask. I told them the cec mandate says face shields are also ok. They said yes. That is the guidance, but we need it over your nose. If there is a viral load. It comes from your mouth. I did not have to cover my nose at all. Thats for me. It was annoying and overkill. I DO NOT suggest this place. my appointment was scheduled for 11:45 and at 12:30 I'm still waiting to be seen. I have a very busy schedule and these people gave me the impression that they didn't care or respect my time. lord only knows how much longer I would have waited if I didn't get up and walk out. what really bugs me is that they sent me 3 reminders about my appointment and time and then said in their text and emails that there is a no cancellation policy and if I cancel theirs a 50 dollar fee. I talked to the receptionist when I left and explained that I was selling one of my houses and the closing was scheduled for 1:30 in norfolk so I had to leave. Let's just say she wasn't real happy and until this day they haven't followed up with me about my eye that was inquired while driving my tractor. So I think their actions only prove they don't give a shit about their patients. No problem I scheduled with another optometrist in Norfolk and was seen the same day and on time. One other issue how professional is it that they put a sign in the restroom that says if you sprinkle when you tinkle wipe the seat. I strongly suggest that you DO NOT use these people. read more

Two weeks ago I called sight to see For an exam , gave them insurance information over the phone they said fine set up an appointment and I arrive on Tuesday only for them to tell me that they don't cover me with United dual complete coverage. I'm sure they knew this when they made the appointment hoping that I was desperate enough to pay No stars for these people and from past experiences with them they have the most inferior of all frames I've ever owned I was simply there for an exam better get your stuff straight before you experience something like this because it really pissed me off read more

Add my review to the 1 star or less list. My prescription sunglasses broke and my regular eye dr of many years had retired and it was months before I could get an appt with another dr. I decided to go to the Hampton office to get an exam and new Rx. I have VSP vision insurance which they accept, in addition to my health insurance. a month later I am informed that I have a balance of $200, asked them why and they told me my medical insurance denied the claim. why was it not submitted to VSP..... because dr smith noted a medical condition ( one I have had for years, one he cannot treat since he is not an ophthalmologist) and not the reason why I made the appt. I requested they resubmit the claim to VSP for payment. They would not and instead sent it to a collection agency trying to ruin my excellent credit. I called them again requesting the claim be submitted to VSP (the exam is covered). They refuse to let me speak to their "billing" person. Very rude person on the phone to say the least. should have read all the reviews first as I now see I am not the only one with this similar problem. Considering on contacting WAVY to help address the situation. Pass by this practice as fast as you can. read more

Deserves ZERO stars. My eyesight changed over night, Dr. Smith in Hampton was the only Optometrist available on short notice. I was told over the phone the appointment would be around $125. Everything was blurry in my left eye & I'm seeing spots. Dr. Smith found a blood clot behind my eye. He was not concerned, made a few jokes, "if I was a betting man you will be fine", "go home and don't worry.." "We call those floaters and you can name them as your new friends now, haha". I saw my PA asap. My eyesight was alarming to her, she made a referral with a Retina Specialist ASAP. 1 week after seeing Dr. Smith, I had Emergency Retina Laser Surgery. My Retina was weakening & I had a TEAR in 3 Places!!! Good thing I sought out professional health care or I would be too blind to write this review!! Sight 2 See did not care and are extremely defensive. They will not refund my visit. Alicia the office admin called to give me Legal Advice on how I will be charged the Bill, Collections, & Court fees due to my bank refunding my CC. Alicia also calls to let me know my emails are going to an email they don't use, but she can answer by phone? So greatful I did not trust Dr. Smith & Sight 2 See, if this happen to you do not be intimidated by their uncaring office Admin. Run and seek better Vision care. Dr. Smith is great, the staff is wonderful, they saw me right on my appointment time. Dr. Smith explained everything in a way I could understand and was very thorough. I definitely will continue to go there for my glasses and contact exams. read more

Dr. Smith at the Hampton location is kind of a dickhead and I have been to more eye docs than I can count. I've never been happy about getting new vision tests every time I need glasses or contacts, my script hasn't changed in 30 years. He asked how I was feeling so I told him what was ailing me and he just wanted to make me feel small and argue about it and ask rhetorical questions like, ' what do you want me to do about it?' Nothing dude, let me vent and just say you will do better than those other guys. If you dont really want to know what is on someone's mind, DONT ASK, ASSHOLE! The staff was fine but he mentioned something about me yelling at the staff? I was far from yelling at anyone Dicktor Smith and If I was yelling at you, your soft little ass would be cowering in a corner for the rest of the day, maybe even the rest of the week. I will do everything I can to not recommend this place to anyone, ever. You set up shop in the wrong area If that's how you want to act towards people. This is Hampton, not some Bougie ass part of town where everybody wears fake smiles, stinking up the room with false airs. if you ask me something I'm going to give it you straight but I didn't go there to go round and round with you. To you it may just be a routine thing, for me it isn't. I normally sleep during this time, I work nights, All I needed was new glasses, same strength same everything, just new, I didn't need a vision test but $$$, I guess, I didn't want to meet new people, I didn't need to fill out 3 pages of personal info for what I NEEDED. I am new to Virginia so I searched for an optometrist. I read reviews and decided to try Sight 2 See. I told the doctor and staff numerous times that I needed glasses for computer work. I work all day on a computer. He kept say, yes, you need reading glasses. No, I need glasses for the computer. I got my glasses and guess what? I can't use them to see the computer, I can however, read a book easily. I called them immediately and was told to come in any morning. I called again asking for an actual appointment and have never been called back. I called a third time and again had to leave a message. No call back. Terrible customer service. read more

It's great that they have glasses for families w/Medicade.. But it's sad as hell that they don't Automatically show the Medicade glasses that are covered for FREE. Family's that are of low income deserve to give their children the oppt to see clearly, without being hoodwinked into only shown expensive glasses that are slighty discounted with medicade. I ordered prescription sunglasses over a month ago and in the last few weeks I have been told at least 5 different stories about why my glasses were STILL not here on the 5 different days they were supposed to be here. Not once did I get a call from anyone letting me know anything was wrong UNTIL I called them first. Completion date #1 - was told they are a couple days late and they will be here in 2 days. Two days later - we have to check with the lab but they will be here next wednesday. Date #3 - Still not here let me check and call back in a couple minutes. over an hour later was told that the lab did not even start making my glasses because they dont do that type of lens anymore but dont worry, another lab is making another pair and we'll give you a $50 credit because we dont want to lose you! They will be ready next friday. Date #4 Friday is here and they are still working on them. Check back Monday!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am done with the BS and the stories about how much they care. I am reporting to my insurance company and my employer about the pathetic runaround I have received. read more

My experience at the new Carrollton, VA office was the best. My entire family are patients.

You are wasting your time going to Sight 2 See unless you need a VERY BASIC exam and prescription, they may be able get it right after 2 or 3 tries. If you have anything more than that, you might as well do it yourself!! As soon as I picked up my glasses, I knew they were not right but "oh need to try them for a few days". Been wearing glasses/bifocals longer than they have been in practice and I can tell you, when you wear glasses, you know right off unless a very big difference in prescription, mine was slight and just needed new glasses. After one reorder and not fixed, I am still months trying to get money back, never get a call back, OM always in mtg. Hard to imagine a fairly small business (employee wise) they have that many meetings that keeps from getting a call back. Of course this is after "we do not give refunds" the one time I did get to talk, does not matter I guess I cannot wear/use glasses, that's my problem not theirs......they have their money. So now, I just have to wait for insurance cycle so I can go to a real optometrist. My only other comment, if you need "normsl" glasses for reading or just something to help, the drug store and grogercy store across the street have glasses on those little bins......you will be better off. read more

This is the worst place to come for an eye appointment. This is the second year I have came my husband and I and before you are even seen they take copay. Okay fine then they will come with other reasons they need to collect additional fees from you medical history so they call you back up for that additional fee. Mind you we have now paid over $200 just to walk in door with insurance vsp and claimed had to bill medical Anthem as well. Will NEVER return. Hope they go out of business. Overall great experience. Answered all questions that I had. They were willing to work with me even though I did not have an appointment. I called and the receptionist was helpful on the phone and when I got there, the wait wasn't too long. Exam was professional and timely. Doctor answered any question I had about my eyes whether it was about the prescription or health of my eyes. Will continue to work with them. read more

Staff is super rude. Not sure the ladies name it was a white woman with blonde hair but she did not only embarrass me in front of my child but other customers as well about my insurance and financial issues. They were not willing to listen to me or see the insurance information I had. They tried to charge me for extra things that was COVERED with insurance. The lady was rolling her eyes and had a attitude the entire time. She also kept mentioning to me after I had explained my fear of contacts and hoping to try them again that I shouldn't even be trying to get contacts if I am afraid and the Dr could deny me contacts! What if I am more comfortable practicing at home then being pressured in a drs office? I walked away and will never go back there again. If you were more kind I would have happily tried to figure out a way to pay out of pocket if I had to. Please retrain your staff on customer service skills. read more
