We had a confirmed appointment to see a home and arrived with our realtor. He then said only two adults could enter and that no children were allowed. Our realtor was told the same thing, even though the listing agent had already informed Todd that we were coming. We immediately contacted the listing agent, who confirmed that the home was not under contract at that time. This experience was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. Misrepresenting a property's status, refusing access to a confirmed showing, and denying entry to families with children are all actions that go against California's Department of Real Estate (DRE) regulations, Realtor® Code of Ethics, and Fair Housing standards. We will be reporting this incident to the DRE. Buyers deserve honesty and fair treatment -- not misleading or exclusionary behavior from a licensed broker.
