The 10,000 square foot space operated as The Madden Museum of Art from 2008 to 2013. It was then operated by the University of Denver from 2016 to 2025 as part of a donation of artworks by the Madden family. It is now the Madden Gallery of The Museum of Outdoor Arts as of October 21, 2025. The space is expansive with very high ceilings and is ideal for the display of large-scale contemporary art. The MOA inaugural show takes full advantage of this with Todd Siler's Metaphorming TIME, showcasing a substantial selection of the largest works by this internationally-acclaimed artist, author, educator, and innovation facilitator. This gallery will remain free to the public and provides a new home for the "indoor" collection of The Museum of Outdoor Arts since the closure of their previous gallery space at the Englewood City Hall.

To be fair, it is located within the Palazzo Verdi. The Madden Museum exists to inspire and make art accessible to the Denver Tech Center and Greenwood Village community through exhibitions, education and through learning about art-- according to their website!! Look @ this as well, it is also heavily inspired by couple own exhibitions of the Madden Family:: "THE MADDEN'S "Hanging on a wall in our home are several paintings by artists all but one of whom are critics choices. Who is the artist?" As proud as a parent seeing an all-A report card, I responded over the unsigned work, "My wife Marjorie." And as you see, there is really no true relationship between money and the value of art. - John W. Madden, Jr. Through his business ventures, John Madden never lost his passion for the arts. Often incorporating unique aspects and creative architecture in his real estate developments, Madden and his wife Marjorie sough to infuse art into all they encountered. The Maddens began collecting art early on, and have showcased many sculptures from their private collection throughout Greenwood Village. Madden's notion that art should be part of everyday life led him to develop a museum of mostly sculpture. In 1981, Madden founded the Museum of Outdoor Arts. Close to 30 years after the doors opened to MOA, Madden designed a new museum. The MADDEN Museum of Art is the manifestation of a dream. Madden was unwavering - "The MADDEN should be a space for study and the arts, a place filled with notable artwork, an institution that will inspire great thought." Omg my goodness, I thought to myself how amazing and inspiring that a gala of inspiration was created here!! All done by the sake of love and art!! You can find Victorian, renaissance, old vintage, and many chic and posh ladies painted on daring portraits !!

I recently visited to view the Roland Bernier retrospective which included a substantial selection of his work from the 1980s/1990s. The expansive lobby provided an excellent setting for his large-scale works. Additional art display space is available in the long hallway that leads from the lobby to the administration offices. The Arts Center has a busy schedule of theatrical and musical events that are presented in the Main Stage and Terrace theaters. There is also a regular schedule of art exhibits. This is a well-designed complex that offers many reasons to visit for those with an interest in many areas of the arts.

I have attended a number of gallery events, most recently one with artist Alexandra Nechita earlier this month. Gallery owner Aaron LePedis is extremely personal and knowledgeable and has surrounded himself with a magnificent support staff. I have been particularly impressed by my interaction with Alice Crandall, Gallery Director. Alice has not only supported my selection and purchase of a number of pieces from diverse artists such as Michael Godard, Fabio Napoleoni and Bone Daddy, but assisted me in getting a statue with great sentimental value repaired and also found a resource for me to assist with determining the value of an antique oil painting. Her great personality and focus on customer service typifies the attitude and vision of Aaron and his gallery. If you are looking for art that fits their genre, or just want to attend a gallery event to learn and experience art with a staff that finds joy in service, you must visit Fascination St. Fine Art.

They have now moved to a massive, new location at the Denver Design Center, more than doubling their showroom space. The general category is modern art, but Fascination Street shows a wide range of artists and styles from pop art to expressionism, abstract to realism, not to forget figurative works, impressionisn, surrealism, and even whimsical works that don't fit into other categories. Media ranges from oils and other paintings of many types to sculpture, drawing, prints, and mixed media. The new space is a huge warehouse that's almost overwhelming, but it's broken up into sections with moveable walls that provide a large amount of display space. Lighting is excellent with very little glare. There's lots of helpful, friendly staff to address any questions. Many of the artists represented are mid to late career. The price point is moderately high for original, contemporary art. The Web site provides a good cross-section of the artists/works represented, so this might be a good place to start. The gallery has a large selection of frames and an in-house frame shop.

The best part is that it has FREE Admission!! I parked out in the lot just off E. Alameda Pkwy near the front of the Aurora Municipal Center. I was kind of stumped as to where to enter the museum. I walked past the cool sculpture called "Light Of Dawn" by Rafe Ropek. If you keep walking on that sidewalk, you will find the entrance is at the far end of the building right near the gate/fence. I really wanted to see the 1913 Street Car Trolley! It is in a room all by itself. It has been immaculately restored! I like the vintage ads inside! There's lots of information about transportation, too! You can learn how Aurora started out and grew! There was a Buckingham Square Mall that opened in 1971. It had two Palace Guard mascots named Buck and Ham. It was demolished in 2007. It was rebuilt into what is now Gardens On Havana shopping center. I was fascinated to learn that there in a Mission Viejo neighborhood in Aurora. It was modeled after the Mission Viejo in Orange County, CA! In the exhibit of "Growing Home Aurora", there's an extensive collection of memorabilia! I found out that Niagara Bottling, LLC has a plant in Aurora! I wandered through the "Mosaic of Cultures: Aurora's Mexican Community" area. For history's sake, I should have eaten at La Cueva. It is featured in this area. The founders of the restaurant immigrated to the U.S. in the 1950's. There's an exhibit called "Tatanka: The Spirit of the Land" that has lots of beautiful Bison paintings by Arturo Garcia. On my way out, I picked up A Guide to Aurora, too! It lists landmarks and historic sites with pictures. It was great to learn about Aurora!

It gets such a bad rep and is most well known for tragedies. I never knew there was such history about this city. The hit of the museum and a must see is the trolley.
