She greets me like I'm an old friend she hasn't seen and remembers everyone in my life and always asks about them. I never feel rushed with her, she always wants to hear, even if I'm complaining, explaining, or simply conversing about non- medical issues. And she remembers the conversations the next time I come and asks about them. I have never had a doctor like this before. I imagine this is how doctors used to be in the olden days. Granted, her old office with Dr. Deluca was cramped and scheduling was pretty terrible and I'm not sure why that was. Going to that office always had me disgruntled, but in the end, I couldn't give up on my doctor. I'm glad I didn't. She moved to a new location with her brother (also a doctor) and I have not witnessed any scheduling issues since. My advice Dr. Van? Don't change. You're perfect!

It took me several days of attempting to call and being placed on hold for 20-30 minutes before finally hanging up just to verify an appointment. Physicals are very quick and impersonal and it does not appear that records like past levels of cholesterol are kept. It's on the patient to monitor whether or not cholesterol levels are going up or down after getting them tested every year.

We were surprised to receive a notice from the stroke center asking us to make an appointment with Dr. Cutting, who is a vascular neurologist. Surprisingly, we were able to get a fairy quick appointment, which is remarkable considering some specialists have long wait times. The night before the appointment we were both nervous as to what we might find, but as it turned out, the trip was a big waste of time. While Dr. Cutting seemed like a nice enough lady, she didn't tell us anything more than what my wife's regular neurologist or primary care doctor could have. To me it seemed like a money grab from Lifespan,the parent company of the hospital. I'm willing to bet if we had Medicaid or no insurance, that letter would never have gone out. That's an hour and 25 dollars that we will never get back. To top it off, the RIH campus is tough to navigate due to lack of parking and lengthy walks for someone who is disabled. I would only recommend this practice if you had no other options.

Doing everything ahead of time made it so easier. Tony, the medical tech, brought me to an examining room and entered all my information (symptoms, etc.) into their system. Cory, the PA, came in shortly later and did an examination. I had X-rays done and that was done very professionally. The results were quick and they provided me with a CD with the X-rays. The experience was excellent. I highly recommend AFC in South Attleboro.
