That they have survived is a testament to quality products and determination to overcome the economic difficulties of small towns in this part of mountain country Pennsylvania. Their chocolates are very good, if not the most creative you will find. They know their market and play to it consistently. This Christmas, my in-laws did not know what to get me, so they gave me a box of chocolates. Far better than a tie or scarf. Yes. Forrest Gump could have been sitting at the bus stop in the middle of town near the monument and he would have felt right at home. It was a funny moment. The old fashioned sampler is still sitting on the kitchen table. Every day I open it and take one piece to taste, and my son takes another. The milk chocolates are better than Hershey, Nestle and Cadbury, but not at the level of Lindt, nor Valrhona, or other Euro creamies. The fillings are nice, but not particularly memorable. It is certainly worth a visit if you are in the area and love chocolate that is local and made in fairly small batches. The walk through the shop is entertaining, and the Browns people are pleasant and willing to tell you their history. Too, anything we can do to keep small town America in business is worthwhile.

It's a institution that has been around longer then I have, with regular customers who have patronized the place since its inception. The old building once was a carpet store, and a couple bought it and turned what its now Candyland and Farmer's Market. The store is a wonder being split down the middle, one side is devoted to fresh fruits and vegetables, while the other is candy (in monstrous amounts) devided up to be sold by the mixed bag pound, and there are about 100 different other candies besides, so if you can't find it, it may not exist. The are cheeses that are some of the best I have ever had and great prices for block cheese. The people who work there are as awesome as the place is itself. Ask them about anything in store they will pretty much know it inside and out. If not, they will go out of their way to help you. Come here, pure and simple. It's a great place where people from all over world have come and shopped here. I couldn't believe in the time I had worked there, that people no matter the race or religion could bond over candy. Michael Phelps even shopped here and as well as the PR guy for the Ravens all in one summer. You won't regret spending money here and even though I now work somewhere else I come here often, to get a taste of home.

This is a nice little hidden gem if you are not from the area and in the know. I had been…read morepreparing for an event at work and my coworker told me about this place. I was looking for bulk candy and needed some specific types of candy. Before going to the actual location I went to the website beforehand and could browse what they have. Their physical location of this store sits in a small plaza below a car dealership along Route 30. Getting here is kind of easy depending on the direction on 30 you are coming. Eastbound, easy, pull onto the road. Westbound, may god have mercy on your soul, try crossing two lanes of downhill traffic while uphill traffic behind you is just zips by or backs up. When you exit, just don't go that way, go the opposite way as it will take you where you need to be and it is much easier on your stress for the day. I don't want to state the obvious here, but you become a kid in a candy shop when you enter. The front of the store is your basic candy store with items that are singular in nature and runs the gambit. Candies that you forgot about will show their faces. Then you move towards the back of the store and enter the holy grail of bulk candy. It is rather well organized and you can find what you want quite easily. If you cannot find what you are looking for, just ask the employee back here and they know exactly where it is. I was looking for something and it was literally right in front of my face, but I kept overlooking it. I spent a lot of money here, but it was bulk candy and for an event, it was well spent money. Definitely will be my spot to go for bulk candy for work.

I have driven past this on numerous occasions but never really had a reason to stop. My coworkers and I had had a very tenuous night at work the day prior and I decided that I would stop here to buy us all a treat. Walking in you are definitely in a candy store, you are hit in the face with that sweet smell that automatically makes you want to dive into a river of chocolate. It's one of the small pleasures in life. When I walked in it is quiet as hell, you could here a pin drop. I was greeted right away and asked if I needed any help. One thing for sure is that I needed some sugar free candy for one of my coworkers. They took me to the case that held this and let me be to make my choices. After a few minutes I was ready to make my selection. They packaged the sugar free separately so I would not mix it up with the other candies I was going to purchase. They kept those at the register while I browsed the store. Aside from the cases that hold the many different chocolate creations there are prepackaged chocolates to choose from. There is also a section of candies that you can buy by the pound. Some of the candies can be nostalgic for you. Once I made my selections I made my way to the register. Everything goes smoothly there and you are on your way out the door.

The service was fast and friendly. We tried the viral Dubai strawberry cups. They pack the cup with strawberries and then drizzle the ingredients on the top. The small was the perfect size for one!
