    Thy are out of business but when they did shutters they were wonderful . Very sad for all small businesses during the COVID lockdowns

    On February 19, 2025 I sent DoctorBlinds (aka: Window Covering Wizards) $1,038.60 through PayPal as…read morea 60% downpayment on an order to purchase and instal Graber fabric vertical blind vanes and matching valances. On March 21, Brian Baker, the owner of DoctorBlinds informed me via email that DoctorBlinds could not fulfill the order as the manufacture (Graber) had discontinued the fabric I had selected. Accordingly, the order should have been cancelled by DoctorBlinds at that time and my payment refunded promptly thereafter. In lieu of such, Mr. Baker unilaterally decided to attempt to find potential replacements for the discontinued items. He initially promised to bring such potential replacements to my home the following week for my consideration. The promised home visit never occurred however. In fact, over the course of the next two months Mr. Baker repeatedly reneged on promises to either bring or send replacement samples to my home. Frustrated with his lack of responsiveness, I requested a refund several times in followup emails to Mr. Baker. Finally on Saturday, May 3, 2025 I received a small batch of potential replacement samples by USPS mail. Finding none of them to my liking, I so advised Mr. Baker, requested that he abandon continuing efforts to find replacements, and again requested a refund in an email to him on May 5, 2025. Receiving no reply to such, I sent a subsequent email to Mr. Baker on May 12, 2025 reiterating my lack of interest in continuing efforts to find replacements and insisting that I receive a refund by May 23 otherwise I would seek redress through PayPal and other lawful means if necessary As I did not receive a refund by the May 23 deadline I had imposed, I submitted a complaint to PayPall requesting a refund of my February 19, 2025 payment of $1,038.60 through that service to DoctorBlinds. On May 30, 2025 I received an email from PayPal indicating that I was receiving a refund of $1,038.60 as the complaint had been resolved in my favor. It is very disconcerting that it took over three months (February 19 - May 30) and the intervention of PayPal to receive a refund from DoctorBlinds for an order they could not fulfill.

The only time I heard from you is when I called and left a message inquiring about the status of my blinds. No one ever picked up the phone and always left messages. I was told that the valences would be installed with in a week and I was never called to let me know when they would be installed. I was told that the owner himself was going to install them and they should only be a few days. Turns out I had to call again to find out the status of the valence installation. I paid you in full at the time of my order. No one ever told me that the valences would have an extra charge. Had you done so we could have worked the charge. I have my texts and other correspondence info if you would like to look at it and see how bad our communication with each other is and how I initiated the phone/text conversations all along. I hope to pass on better Karma than you have sent to me. A business owner should never be rude and ignore a customer. I worked for a family business for many years and customer service was something we took pride in. We never would have responded the way you did to me. This order was placed in mid December and when the valences finally came in they were the wrong size. This job was not fully completed until April 12.

    DO NOT FALL FOR IT - THIS COMPANY IS A NIGHTMARE! RUN!!…read more I am writing this review to warn others about the absolute disaster that is World of Blinds & Shutters under its new ownership. If I could give zero stars, I would. I originally chose this company because my boss had a great experience with Steve & Laurie, the previous owners. Their work was excellent--high-quality products, outstanding customer service, and a commitment to standing by their warranty. Because of that, I decided to order 15 custom blinds, including 7 motorized ones, for a total cost of $11,050.00. The installation was perfect, and I was initially very happy with my purchase. THE NIGHTMARE BEGAN AFTER THE COMPANY WAS SOLD A few months after installation, one of my motorized blinds stopped working. Thankfully, under Steve and Laurie's ownership, this was never an issue. two of my motors stopped working (between 2021 and 2023), Steve personally showed up in a timely manner and resolved it, no hassle, no excuses. That's what I expected after spending this kind of money and knowing I had a warranty, come November 2024, my living room blind motor stopped working I as well called Steve to find out the company had been sold to a new owner, however, Steve says no worries is an easy fix you are cover, it will be the same process as before just call them and they should be able to take care of this which it could take 2-3 weeks max. I was, perfect will do. When I first contacted the new owner, she assured me that it was a simple fix--just a matter of filing a claim with the manufacturer. Great, right? WRONG! here is where my nightmare starts, countless messages, calls, bunch excuses and now solution. 5 MONTHS LATER... STILL NO RESOLUTION November 2024: I contacted the new owner. She took forever to respond, and when she finally did, she promised to take care of it. Nothing happened. December 2024: I followed up again. More excuses, no action. January 2025: I asked for the claim number so I could handle it myself. She tells me don't worry I am working on, I did not realize I was calling the wrong manufactory etc. so claim number was not provide it, instead giving me more empty promises. February 2025: Still no claim number, no replacement, no solution. At this point, I have a completely non-functional blind in my living room for four months, which is beyond frustrating. I can't open or close this blind. March 2025: I finally got her on the phone. She claimed she would call me back with an update. She never did. I texted and called multiple times afterward--no response. I called last week and today no response, so I decided is best to share my story and save you some time for you not to deal with this BS. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE & LIES This woman does not care about her customers. She has ignored my calls, texts, and emails for months. When she does respond, it's nothing but excuses, delays, and outright lies. How hard is it to process a simple warranty claim? Her incompetence is beyond belief. If you are thinking about ordering blinds from World of Blinds & Shutters, DON'T DO IT! You will be throwing your money away. Buy from literally anywhere else--Amazon, Home Depot, a random street vendor--you'll get better service than this joke of a company. I will attached screenshots in google reviews of some of our conversations so you can see for yourself and below how utterly unprofessional, dishonest, and unreliable this company is. Save yourself the headache. Run far, far away from this company! Needless to say, all good reviews are thanks to the previous ownership Steve and Laurie, if you pay attention the bad reviews are all new reviews to the new ownership lack of service, massive red flags. don't walk, RUN!!

Reviews on this website that show Outstanding were when Steve & Laurie were owners. New Owner Does Not provide Product which has been Paid for since November 9, 2024. She does not respond to customers who have problems with products already installed and in our case still waiting for wind treatments (Shutter) that were paid for November 9, 2024 and NOT Received.. There are Many other Professional Window Treatment Companies in Bradenton & Lakewood Ranch of which provide quality and outstanding service. Most Importantly they respond and provide product which you pay for.
