I was delivered beautiful roses late the evening of 3/25 for my birthday (on Sunday the 29th) By Saturday, they were already dying. Sunday morning, the day of my birthday they were all dead. Obviously, this did not bring me joy on my birthday! My sister is a florist, I know how to care for flowers to make them last as long as possible. She told me to call them because they should replace them, free of charge. I called the location and they said they'd call me back - never did, so I called again and they said they'd get back to me. To congratulate her milestone, I decided to send a surprise bouquet of flowers to her work address. I wanted to support a local flower shop that was able to provide same day delivery. When reviewing various flower shops that were in close proximity to the delivery address, I came across Showcase Flowers. After reviewing the available bouquets, I chose the "Your Light Shines" bouquet (priced at $99.95). My sister's favorite flowers are hydrangeas, along with her favorite color as pink. The advertised photo seemed to fulfill both these requests, while including beautiful accent flowers and leaves to complement the bigger statement pieces. The total price for the bouquet, delivery fee, taxes and tip was $130. Needless to say, I am EXTREMELY disappointed in the bouquet that was delivered. Bright white hydrangeas (not the advertised mauve hued ones) took the majority of the arrangement that should have been filled with an abundance of roses. There were hardly any large roses included, with the smaller roses substituted with flimsy tulips. There is a surplus of eucalyptus flowers. No sign of money cassino asters. Hardly any salal leaves and the ones in the arrangement were ripped. The pictures included is apparent that an advertised long stemmed, well versed bouquet resulted in a poorly crafted, cheaply substituted and stumpy short stemmed disappointment. The only thing that was good was a fast delivery of under 3 hours from the initial order placement. However, I had to contact Showcase Flowers directly via telephone and ask for updates. I am awaiting an email reply from Showcase Flowers customer support summarizing this disappointing experience and a refund request. This was a terrible first, and most importantly, last experience with Showcase Flowers. read more

I ordered flowers from Avasflowers.com. I googled flowers for Morris Illinois, Avas popped up and had a beautiful arrangement. I did not know that this was not a local florist but an online business until the order was placed. The arrangement was white and purple roses. The flowers were ordered to be delivered May 24th before 2pm. The order was placed May 16th. Friday the 17th I received a email that saying the arrangement I paid $122 for was not available. Three days and multiple calls they asked if they could send a dozen roses. I asked for a total refund which they kept putting me on hold and wasting my time and patience. I finally agreed to the roses in a nice arrangement vase included. Only because I was exasperated with this company. They said I would receive a 50% refund. I was given a refund of $44. The flowers were not delivered on Friday the 24th before 2pm. The flowers were delivered Tuesday May 28th after sitting in a UPS facility for the holiday weekend. This company completely misrepresented itself and it's ability to do the job they said they would be able to do. The arrangement was just a dozen roses in a plain vase nothing nice or special about it at all. For $78 they couldn't deliver the product advertised and ordered, they were not a local business and they delivered the product very late. This was my first time ordering flowers in remembrance of a friend's family member passing away. Obviously I have a lot to learn and this company took advantage of my naivety. By 11:45 they didn't arrive so we called 1-800 flowers to get a late delivery estimate. We were advised it was on a truck 30 min away. Our service was at 2pm. It never arrived. Our service ended by 4pm, it still didn't arrive. Every hour we called (3 times), they said it was 45 min away. Can you imagine trying to celebrate the death of your loved one and having to deal with phone calls during the service every hour to see what the where your flowers are? No refund either. I am appalled and speechless. I received this damaged bouquet of roses that my boyfriend ordered from Showcase Flowers for Valentine's Day. I am utterly devastated and infuriated with what I have received. First of all, the flowers aren't even slightly arranged. They simply shoved the flowers into a vase without even organizing them. Secondly, the flowers are on the verge of dying....some stems are bent and damaged. Lastly, how can you possibly charge someone almost $300 for such horrible quality. tl;dr Beautiful bouquets but no fresh flowers, which you can only enjoy for 2-3 days for way too much money. Got two bouquets that we picked up ourselves, one for ourselves and one to give away, they were beautiful, but already had minor damage to leaves that we noticed when we came home (and that where not caused by transport). We got them on Thursday and even though they came in a vase with enough water they showed signs of wilting on Saturday and were literally rotten by Wednesday. We felt bad that the bouquet that we gave away probably had the same fate. I have a bouquet from Whole Foods for a fraction of the price which after 3 weeks still has some nice flowers in it. I'd expect that flowers from a florist perform better than super market flowers. read more

I believe local florists care more and put more effort into customer service. It was great that I found this place. From my experience of ordering flowers online, they always state the arrangement may vary depending on what the florist has in stock and they don't usually look as good as picture posted. I finally go a hold of the owner of Showcase flowers at about 9:00 PM Saturday night. He told me the shop was closed and he was walking out the door. I explained my situation and the owner offered to come early the next morning the next day and open the shop for me so that I could pick up my order at 6:00 AM the next day! Ever felt like crawling under a rock? Hiding down the basement? Or maybe just move out of town? This was the sheer embarrassment I felt when I had flowers delivered for my wife on her special day - her Birthday... Apparently, she was not the only one in the building to notice the rude delivery driver along with the odd looking floral arrangement on-hand. This "thing" was wilting away and looked like it was brought back from a mortuary or a mausoleum after sitting there for several days. It was suppose to be a beautiful floral arrangement called a "Pure Inspiration Bouquet" complete with a bird's nest and all. Well so much for that number... I ended up with this outfit when I placed my order through an online service. What was delivered was far from what I had ordered. It did not even remotely resemble the picture and description of what the floral arrangement should have been. So I called the service, explained the situation and they were kind and courteous enough to have the flowers re-delivered free of charge of course. Now I'm a firm believer in giving second and sometimes third chances in almost every situation. I know we're not perfect and can use a little break once in a while. So I thought maybe they just had a bad day. I was so totally wrong on this one! Lightning struck twice in the same area. What are the odds? To make matters worst my wife (already emotionally charged from the previous delivery) called the shop to complain and to make pickup arrangements and the guy that answered the phone had the audacity to argue with her then asked her "Have you ever received flowers before?" I said to myself WTF? This is the kind of customer service I'd expect not even from a liquor store. Two bad days in a row nah too much of a coincidence... Unfortunately from this experience the only thing "showcased" for me was all around failure with an added insult to injury. One star is so generous for this review! Lesson learned... read more

I am the private event coordinator for a well established venue in downtown San Francisco and I have never once been disappointed by the customer service, quality, or timeliness of the staff at Showcase Flowers. They are ALWAYS willing to give me good deals, deliver (although I am just 1 block away), and provide me with helpful ideas when my coffee hasn't kicked in an my brain is lacking creativity. Although they do not have a huge variety on hand in the shop, as long as you place your order ahead of time, your flowers will be on time, they will be fresh, and they will look gorgeous. We were visiting from out of town and my bf had flowers sent to our room during our stay. It ended up being a bittersweet gesture, since we didn't really know what we were going to do with them for our flight back. Of course we waited until the last hour to figure it all out haha.
