First of all, I didn't use the family restroom and got to explore the regular women's room. Which much to my surprise was super clean and nice. Next time I'm here I'm taking my daughter into this restroom and avoiding the family restroom all together. This really set the tone for me and then we tried the fried pies! I looked them up on our way home (while I was enjoying my pie) and it turns out it's a family run business out of Oklahoma that has a few shops in independently run gas stations around the midwest and great plains. I loved their story, and the pies were so fun. Very tasty. I won't say it's the best pie I've ever had, but the novelty of it and the freshness of getting it right there made for a super fun roadside stop. Key takeaway: avoid the family restroom and take your child into the regular one - it's gonna be better.

While traveling I don't like to feel like I've gotten off on an exit straight into the twilight zone. So, this was bookmarked for me on my I-70 road trip so I'd know (hopefully) where clean bathrooms could be found. This gas station looks a bit dumpy from the exterior and I almost bailed on it. But we gave it a shot. The bathrooms are clean and perfectly serviceable. Cleanest ever? Homey? No. Just a typical utilitarian gas station bathroom, which was thankfully clean and stocked with TP, soap and paper towels. The convenience store offered a cheap fountain drink special which was nice; I needed something to perk me up. The lady at the counter was friendly. Hardly anyone else was there so getting gas and checking out was quick and easy. Selection at small convenience store very basic. Bottom line- if all u want is gas and a clean pit stop, come on by. But don't go out of your way if you need more options or expect more than the basics.

I was surprised by the amount of items in this seemingly small store. The aisles were packed with stuff. This is not a very large store but there is a terrific selection. I was able to get my drink and was happy they used Styrofoam which I LOVE. I know it's bad for the environment but it keeps the drinks cooler so much longer. Bad on me. Yes, this is a convenience store but it's not your typical convenience store. They had the regular fare of chips and candies. There was just more to this quaint little store. It has a different energy. You got the feeling they weren't rushing you out of the store like so many other places. They had all sorts of tobacco choices, as well. A clerk even offered to help me which never happens in other stores. The staff was friendly and attentive. They were helpful and nice. A smile goes a long way in customer service.
