    Dirt everywhere

    We rented Sunset Island 44, 44 Canal Walk Lane from Shoreline. Renter beware - the rental agency as well as the property are terrible! We rented it to attend a softball tournament mid-July. We had 4 adults and 5 kids. Refrigerator: Since we didn't know what our schedule would be (running to games), we packed 3 coolers of food, drinks, snacks, and frozen food. When we arrived, the refrigerator was set at 1. We turned it up to 5 and put the cold stuff in. During the night we noticed it was back at 1 and then put it back up again. Early in the morning, it was beeping and at 1 again with an error. Everything that was originally ice cold was warm. I called the after-hour number for service and the maintenance guy said they had notes about the refrigerator issues, and they sent someone out. The temp was 54 degrees in the refrigerator! Late Friday afternoon a rental refrig was delivered. From Wednesday morning until Friday afternoon (we were checking out Saturday morning) we were without a refrigerator. Our coolers couldn't accommodate everything that needed to be cold; most of our food and drinks spoiled. Cleanliness: The floors were dirty, overall cleaning was nonexistent. Bed quilts didn't look clean. Ants were everywhere - even coming out of the bottom wood molding. Got ant traps - didn't help. Air filters were filthy - weren't changed for a long time. Door locks were broken - two of the doors didn't lock (using only a chain above to keep them closed). Silverware was dirty with food remnants and pots and pans were thrown along with a ton of other stuff under a cabinet. The coffee pot had to be replaced - looks like it wasn't cleaned in years. The outside shower - was broken off. Half of the lights didn't work - one out of 4 above the table worked. The agents were useless (we called several times to get someone to even respond about the refrigerator) - they said only the owners of the agency could make decisions. While we argued and got a small (and I mean small) amount back, staying at a hotel would have been a better decision. The use of a kitchen was meaningless with all the issues. I honestly believe the majority of people would not be accustomed to this filth.

    Stayed at Sea Lodge #101 on 86th Street horrible as well as Shorline Properties customer service. We get a call the day before we leave the central air is broken but put a window air conditioner in the front of the unit. We had no other choice it was the day before checking in, it took two weeks of searching to find a place this because of senior week. We walk inside the front half of the unit smells like roach spray that was under the kitchen sink. So the first two days were strong and no windows to open. We get there go inside and see notes all over; take trash out, wash and put away dishes and rise out sink and tub. Well, the first day the WiFi info given by Shoreline did not exist, the WiFi password in the unit did not work. The master bathroom had black hair all on ledge of toilet and hair in the tubs. I had to buy cleaner and clean the bathroom it was disturbing. The dish's/utensils were dirty in the drawers, the dishwasher was full. We bought our own paper plates and etc because it was gross. They only supply one roll of paper towel and two rolls of tp, one for each bathroom you supply your own. They want to charge you $140 for pillows and blankets when they are in the closet. We did not pay we brought our own thank goodness. There was a pair of men's underwear between to wall and mattress in the master bedroom and a dirt wash cloth hanging on the back of the bathroom door. When we went to bed we noticed the cable did not work in the second bedroom. It the become hot in the bedroom because the window air conditioned was in the front room, tried to open the window in master bedroom the knob fell off (easy to put back on) the second bedroom had a old faded sign that the window is broken can't open it. There is a picture to the right of the sink in the master bathroom with specks of toothpaste spit from who knows how many people before us. The second morning we wake up to shower and the hot water lasted five minutes for one person there were four of us. The fart fan in the hall bathroom sounds like a garbage disposal it is loud. We later notice that the no hot water issue is a known issue to turn breaker on and off, they typed a note on the envelope. The water did not drain in the master bathroom there was a foot of water sllloooowwwly draining then stopped leaving about two inches. I called the office to let them know about the cable not working and the water in the tub. I have my phone number to call me back. I call them two hours later the tub finally drained but no cable. Lady says oh the person who deals with this is out, I said wait you said you were sending someone to fix it, she says no I mean the person who does paperwork mind you this is Friday. She says I will check with Maintenance guy and call you back I said Do you have my phone number she blurts out some random phone number that doesn't belong to anyone in the unit. So I began to give her my number which I did not give her the entire thing. By the end of the conversation she said I'll call you back thank you bye. Well how would she call me back if she never had my phone number. Anyway needless to say we never got any response to any repairs that I called about such as the tub and the cable. The next day the top and bottom Hydraulic on the front door are so rusted the bottom one ended up breaking off. We used it to prop the door open because it was only 60° one evening to get some air in since none of the windows open, and it broke. The table and chairs in the porch are rusty and breaking, rusty pieces are sticking out of the chairs you may need s tetanus shot after you sit on them. So basically at this point whenever there's an issue with this unit they do not perform any repairs they brush it under the rug and leave notes. They also do not have a cleaning company come in to clean because they say they will charge you to have someone come in and clean if you don't take the trash out and rinse out the sinks and tubs. This is gross they do not clean in between renters and they don't even look inside to see what's going on with the unit plus there is no communication when there is an issue they don't care. So I hope others see this review before they decide to rent this unit or you will be scrubbing it with bleach and have nothing but issues after you pay a fortune to rent it. Dirty and poor customer service. This information will also be forwarded to the owners of the unit who knows if they even know how Shoreline Properties is running the show and they may not even know that Shoreline Properties is allowing their property to be ran down and dirty. They make enough money on rent they should fix and repair the unit. I sure hope the owners don't get a surprise when they see their unit has went to the shit.

    78th street Ocean Village unit #13 is completely out of date and in need of a deep cleaning. Very disappointed that we had to pay thousands of dollars for this kind of unit. Thankful we are able to spend time at the beach instead of this dirty townhouse.

    I stayed in 801 in June of 2017…read more Great location! Just above the boardwalk, everything you want to do or see is with in walking distance. The balcony was incredible, a great view of the sunrise every morning. The unit: Although the listing states fully equipped gourmet kitchen, I would call it a functional kitchen. Manual can opener, well worn pots, pans were new. For a location known for its crabs, not a pot that you can cook them in. It sleeps 10, but the flatware and place settings were for 8. I purchased my own knives because the head knife that was there was slightly duller than a butter knife. The Realtor: I had to mop the floors when I arrived because the cleaning company contracted did not do a satisfactory job by my standards. The linen company did not pick up the prior parties dirty linen for a week. When they came to pick up the linens, the just walked in at 815am, glad I was caught in my underwear. Lee Yung (I think that is correct) was wonderful, very good with the guests, very polite, greeted every time with a smile and a cordial greeting, he also kept the common areas immaculate. John the building manager, well an ignoramous. Rude, arrogant. For a building that leases to a high number of guests you would think that they would have someone more personable, or at least smiles and says hello. I passed John at least 20 times and just received a stare..... horrible. Lastly the guy with the beard from advantage arrived 30 minutes late on the day of checkout. If you are 10 minutes late it is a $50 fee but I guess they can keep the guest waiting. In the end, great location, nice unit but could use a few additional items. The realtor and contract personnel need to step up thier standard and John should find a career he is happy at. Believe it or not, it will be a strong prospect for our next beach vacation. It would have been a 5 star if it weren't for those few items

Worst of all was paying for an ocean front room and not being able to enjoy the view because the window seal is broken, so the glass is fogged. The socket covers and lights were replaced during our stay. I emailed Vacasa and sent them photos. So far, the only response I have received is "we know about the windows" and the "socket cover/lightbulbs were replaced during your stay".If they are aware of the windows, it should be mentioned in the listing. Something along the lines of ocean view, through SOME WINDOWS.

I am emailing to let you know the multitude of issues we are having with our rental property of 39668 Seaside Dr. We have tried calling and resolving these issues several times over the last 3 days but nothing has been done to resolve the issues. I am now emailing to document the communication (or lack there of). Issue 1: The house has not been properly cleaned for a very long time. As the photos show there is massive amount of dirt, dust, and hairs coming out of every vent in the home. This appears to be several months of accumulation and when the air conditioning kicks on it blows this material all over the house. Issue 2: As the photos show, The bathroom showers have black mold in them. We have 3 young children including a new born so this is very concerning Issue 3: The internet has not worked our entire stay and everyday we are being told that we have to wait for for the company to send a rep that never show up. We were just told for the third time to wait for several hours instead of the management company handling this issue. On top of the fact we had to spend the first three days of our vacation waiting for your technicians, we also don't feel comfortable taking on the liability of third party contractors working on the home on the owners behalf. When we shared this with management they told us we signed a contract that internet may not be available so they are not responsible. After reviewing the general state of the home I wouldn't be surprised if there was never internet at all and the contract is used to protect management from having to pay for any internet service at all. Issue 4: As seen in the photo attached there are electrical outlets sticking out of the wall with sharp screws dangling out of them. Issue 5: The carpets are very dirty and covered with both dirt and stains. It appears the carpets have been even vacuumed or cleaned for a very long time. Issue 6: Not a serious issue but for a $1000 night rental the place is in general disarray. For example the tv has random wires and cords just hanging off the mantle. I'm just including as generally it appears zero effort has been made to prepare this home for renters. As some that has been renting dozens of properties on VRBO & Airbnb for 10+ years I just couldn't imagine thinking this is an acceptable state.

    I tried booking one of this company's properties on Vrbo and I got charged the Vrbo fee ($320) but…read morenot the rental fees. They emailed me separately and wanted payment through their own online portal. The whole point of using platforms like Vrbo is to have your payments protected in case of fraud or scams, which this was not but very shady nonetheless. We called to request payment through VRbo and they said they only accept through their own website. So you are basically being charged a Vrbo fee without the peace of mind of going through their platform. I refused to pay and asked for a cancellation and had to get my Vrbo charge refunded separately. I don't know about their properties but definitely shady business, listing on Vrbo, and then violating their policies by communicating outside the service so they can avoid their fees.
