Panic stricken, not prepared for such a quick sale, I contacted Carmela (I met her a year prior at an open house, liked her style and did some research on her and her company) and asked if we could meet as soon as possible. Long story short, she recommended that we look into short term lease options while we took our time finding our dream home. We followed her advice and wound up renting at Park Lane in the Seaport District-great place that deserves two thumbs up- on a short term three month lease that could have been extended if needed. We didn't need to.... Carmela sat my wife and I down at our initial meeting and listened as we described to her our 'must have' list in our soon to be dream home. Fast forward, we waited until after Labor Day to start our search as we needed time to pack up the old house and move into Park Lane....Carmela wasted no time finding four properties that met our requirements...........we bought the first home we were shown. We new it was to be as soon as we walked into the front door. She nailed it! Amazing! I thought we'd be looking for months as our criteria was not going to be an easy task for her to accomplish. I went home and submitted an inquiry on their website. It was a Sunday night, so I wasn't expecting a response until at least Monday morning. To my delight, Carmela responded almost immediately and put us in touch with Chris Smith on the team. Chris scheduled an appointment with us to see our property of interest immediately. From there, we worked with Chris to see more properties in the North End. Chris was always very responsive and quick to set up appointments on our behalf. He was always very knowledgeable on all of the properties we viewed (and we ask a LOT of questions)! Although I was regularly searching Redfin and receiving daily alerts, Chris was a powerful 'secret weapon' proactively emailing us properties that fit our criteria. This extra research on our behalf was a real bonus, as the listings/photos don't always tell the full story. I must say that I was impressed with the designer with whom they work, Anna Orfanides. I told her what style I was looking for, and Anna knocked it out of the park. While it was merely a galley kitchen in a Brookline condo, Anna envisioned a design that made it much more functional, timeless, and chic. Hilary Farr would be impressed. Ryaan and team are highly detail oriented. There was one incident where there was a problem with some of the lighting materials. While some contractors would have taken a shortcut and simply have installed the lighting as is, Ryaan and his electrician Chris, who was a perfectionist, made sure that the vendor was held accountable, and they refused to install the product until the issue was resolved with the manufacturer. It should also be noted that Ryaan and team are in constant communication from the project inception until the very end. Kristina, the project manager, is unbelievably responsive. You really can get in touch with her around the clock. The workmanship is impeccable, and it's the first project I've done with a nonexistent punch list. Ryaan took care of small details before I even mentioned them. Finally, I want to add that they are just nice people. I really do think animals are the best judges of character. My dog is a Lhasa Apso, and there are some people he just doesn't like. I was worried that there would be lots of barking and growling throughout the project. However, that was not the case. My dog took a liking to the project team from the beginning. There was no barking and growling. If he can trust them, so can I. It was a wonderful experience, and they really have earned five stars. They were incredibly quick (responding within the first 45 mins of my Yelp request ) to respond when I discovered a water leak coming from outside. Since the source wasn't obvious (potentially an ice dam, roof issue, etc.), I really appreciated how quickly and thoroughly they assessed the situation. They were able to identify both how far the water had spread inside and pinpoint the exact source of entry from outside. Once the issue was identified, they moved fast to fix it properly. After repairing the exterior source, they took extra precautions inside, treating the affected area to prevent any potential mold, installing new insulation, replacing the ceiling and smoothing everything out, and finishing with a clean paint job. You'd never know there had been an issue as it was repaired well. Jean, in particular, was fantastic to work with. He was very accommodating to my schedule, acted with urgency throughout the entire process, and made a stressful situation feel manageable. He clearly explained the plan, the reasoning behind each step, and made sure I felt confident that the problem was fully resolved.
