I wish I read these reviews before going. My dog had diarrhea, vomited and was lethargic. I'm new in area and I made a next day appointment (not an emergency appointment). Front desk staff was lovely, place was clean, tech was thorough. I did not expect a before treatment plan to be over $800.! They tried to upsell like I've never seen before. I agreed to bloodwork and fecal test but they were going to do X-rays, a pancreatic lipid test (I agreed to bloodwork) . Although I paid $73.65 fecal test they had nerve to charge extra $10 for medical disposal. They have a pet station outside with garbage for people to throw dog poop. I'm disappointed and angry. Final bill was $532.83. Please don't take advantage of pet owners. This is why many don't ever go to vet read more

I'm sitting in the parking lot as I'm writing this. I have to say I haven't even been into the office yet but I'm already super frustrated and looking for somewhere else. I had a wellness appointment set for March 5th. I had to cancel because I hurt my leg and couldn't drive. Got a new appointment for today. I have in my phone records that they called and I called back confirming my appointment yesterday. I showed up at my appointment time and they tell me I canceled my appointment. I never canceled. However, the woman on the phone kept saying "since you called and canceled you appointment." I told her I never canceled and she kept saying I did. They offered me an appointment in an hour. Not enough time to go home and come back so I'm sitting in my car with my dog waiting. Never once did the woman apologize or even remotely imply that it was anything other than my fault. All of the other negitive reviews warn about roud staff. I cant say she was rude but a mistake was made-- thats fine-- but dotn keep nlaming the client when they say they didnt do it. I took my puppy Benji here for his first round of vaccines! We love the doctors and most of the techs. They are very helpful and make the appointment quick. Due to covid, we are not allow inside the room while our babies are in the back m which sucks but also understandable. Yes, there are a bit expensive but there are not humane society shelter (cheaper to get vaccines and vet consults there) however you are paying for great vet services, they take new clients and have more available appointments if needed. I am traveling to Hawaii with my little one and have needed to get countless copies of his rabies vaccinations due to rabies free area. There was a lot of back and forth of what needed to be fixed but most of the tech and vet had no problem with helping me! Ashley and Debbie remember was very nice and as I moved out of state, they were more than happy to mail me the corrected rabies vaccinations! However one tech was quite rude (Peggy I believe), told me she would not mail out the copies, that I needed to go in person to pick it up and she was quite nasty and annoyed with me on the phone. I hope it was just because she had a bad day. Other than that, if I still lived in the area I would definitely continue my service there. read more

We had the BEST experience at Shore Veterinarians! Everyone was super friendly, caring, professional and knowledgeable! The veterinarian assistant was awesome, too. She was very informative and was great with our new cat. Dr. Miller was terrific. She kept Jax calm and comfortable while she gently examined him and gave us some great advice for his care. So glad we switched. Next week we'll be bringing in our older cat for his annual wellness visit. read more

Had my dog spayed and was left with remnants that they already knew about. Later want to do multiple further test even though my spayed dog went into heat. Called for help and was told by Peggy "well what do you want me to do about it". Usually when you call a vet for help you want help, I think that's obvious. The staff is nice but the prices are outrages. It cost me $160.00 for a antibiotic shot and a office visit. My cat is still having the same issue where she keeps licking the wound open so I called back to see what else I could do was told I had to bring her back so they could look at her again cost $75 just for visit cause I miss the two week suggestion of bring her back if she wasn't better I don't want nothing for free but I also don't want to be taking advantage cause I love my pet. read more

Can't I give a zero. Please, avoid this vet at all cost. I just now brought my dog here for a follow up to an emergency surgery. He hates them. He loves every person and previous vet but this one irks him. He is scared of them. So the tech decides too put a choker string around his neck in front of me and attempt to drag him out of my vehicle. And I mean choke him out of my vehicle. Well no way - I grabbed him and said how dare you. I brought him in myself. What do they do behind closed doors that gets him so terrified? He is a big happy berner. The customers next to my vehicle concern my asked what was happen and said, "I hope they treat my dog better back there". This should never be a thought, ever. Dr. Miller came out and preceded to tell me I made her vet tech cry. I'm sorry, but your tech was wrong. After a brief discussion, I asked her - What is his name? She replied, "what?". Please tell me my dogs name. She then flipped through her chart and tell me his name. I'll never go back and if it was not for the emergency we would have never gone. It's not about me it's the fact that you treat him like crap and his reactions to you tell it all. I don't think it's too much for the vet and their staff to provide an ounce of caring. I don't even care how much money it costs, please just care. To the vets at Shore Vet on Egg Harbor and your staff- I think it's time for a staff meeting to discuss how you treat your patients and by patients I mean animals. They have no voice and as customers we depend on you to provide the best quality care. Being over worked under staffed is not an excuse. read more

The veterinarian Dr Monaghan is good but her tech ( tall and blonde) needs more training, not a pet friendly person. One more downside is the cost, just way too expensive for this clinic. Why does this clinic btw check and exam my dog away from my view? The Vet would come in with the syringes but after that she will take the pet out of the room to perform the injection? They would just come back after few minutes saying all has been done! Something has to change! read more

This place has the worst customer service/communication. I showed up ten minutes before my appointment... and they had me and my puppy waiting an *hour* no exaggeration. We were actually the only ones in the waiting room. They kept saying "a few more minutes." If it was actually going to be more than a few more minutes, they should've told me upfront instead of wasting my time. Also, there was a miscommunication about whether my puppy would need more shots or if this was the last round. The way they handled the confusion was completely unacceptable. I refuse to bring my puppy back there. If you're okay with mediocre service then please feel free to use their services. read more

This place is horrible. I called to make an appointment for my dog because he had an ear infection which occurred over the holiday and the vets were closed. I called my original vets office when they reopened July 5 and they were completely booked and we could not been seen till the 6th at 2 pm. Due to the fact my dog scratching through the night and making his ear worse I ended up calling this veterinarian and they told me it was 54 to walk in and whatever else it may be due to the medication he will have to take. By the time I was walking out of there they tried to charge me close to 190 dollar's. That was for the ear wash, prednisone pills and an ointment. I told them I did not need the ear wash and they tried to convince me to get it even when I said I had one at home They were asking me what brand because it may not work with the ointment. Just trying to upsell me more products and I declined. My bill was still 157.45. They charged me 28 dollar's just for a vet tech to put the cleaning solution, wipe out his ear and put the ointment in it. They charged me 22 and change just for 6 pills of prednisone and 48 and change for the ointment. When I went home and got on the internet I saw that the same exact ointment that you can order online was 13 dollar's and they charged me 48 and change. Also the prednisone is 40 cents a pill yet they charged me 22 for 6 pills. When I called up there and spoke with the girl at the front desk and told her how disappointed I was and I understand how they upcharge for their meds but to the amount of 3 times the original price and to charge 28 dollar's for a tech to clean out my dog's ears with solution, wipe with gauze and put ointment in let alone send me home with a pamphlet to show me how. I could have did it myself when I got home . I also explained in this economy and with the casino's closing and people losing their jobs it makes it difficult for anyone to afford vet services especially vets who triple the amount for their meds and this is why people are not taking their pet's to the veterinarian and also surrendering their pet's to shelters. I told her that this office should be ashamed of charging triple the amount. I would never step foot in there and I would be writing a review on yelp as well. She hung up on me after I said that. MONEY HUNGRY. Let me start by saying the employees and doctors ive seen are all very nice (hence the extra star), the business however just charges for anything and everything. Boarding for example, if you arent on the doorstep at 8 am waiting for them to open up youre charged an extra half a day for and i quote "someone probably has already fed and let the dog out", WEIRD- i thought thats whats supposed to be done while boarding. Any time your pet goes in this place they add an "annual physical exam" to your bill because the doctor looks at your pet which will run you about $50. In order to board or be a part of their vet they require six month fecal tests which is definitely excessive and runs $40. Im in the military and have moved too many times and have had many vets, cant remember one that required this annually let alone semi annual. Also, just know everything they do to your pet will be behind closed doors, id like to trust that they're actually providing what their billing. read more

from our appt back in may my family is very devistated of the outcome of our visit my wife took our cat in to have them check her out why her weight was up and down (mind you before hand the cat was happy go lucky playing cuddeling no signs of sickness) from begining to end they weighed her took her tempeture and then came out with a itinerary or what they recommended bloodwork urine sample antibiotic shot (do to her ear issue) & the cost explained to them go ahead and proceed so they took the cat away from her loved ones behind a door did what they recommended and then brought her back out to us so at this time we were done so went to check out and pay the receptionist with cc she then expalined to me the steps to take on doing her urine test and to bring it back to them asap so they can send everything out together. (we should get a phone call from the dr the next day about her blood work) well not to long after the visit my cat was very stiff eyes open and twitching (tearful scarry thing to see) so called the office as soon as possible to explain the symptoms so they suggested bring her back in (on know another fee) the person on the phone said no because the same dr would look at her but if they have to give her antibiotics there will be a charge (i explained they already gave her antibiotics) so they said just bring her in so we did. was then explained that they can do a inhouse bloodtest. its the same price as if it were to be sent out !!! sounds fishy didnt sound right to me ok why wasnt this recommened in the beginning ( oh situations different now) i then told them to proceed and then the dr comes out with paperwork on thyroid!!! ( assuming they did the bloodwork on thyroid) and then said she may have psycological/head issues) again there was no reactions ones so ever when we first brought her she was a normal mobile happy go luck cat (despite her weight issue) . the dr then stated you can leave her in the hospital ( no gaurentee shed get better) and it would be at a price we know you cannot afford and recommended to put her down free of charge (complimentary) again complementary free of charge sounds fishy to me like the inhouse blood work) our family is emotionally mentally devistated because she was alive and being a normal cat before we brought her in and now the outcome of one day she ends up in kitty heaven we are all emotionally heartbroken we just still cant grasp this whole situation beyond shocked ! read more
