There is no need to spend time planning your workouts--the coaches take care of everything, a lot of preps and thinking goes behind every plan for each day. All you need to do is show up for the work out; the coaches ensure that you are motivated and every session is effective and enjoyable. I have been a member since June 2024, and the results have been incredible. I have lost 38 pounds, gained muscle, and significantly improved my overall fitness. Coaches Diogo, Doug, Jabdiel, Sofia, and Erica are all outstanding, bringing expertise, energy, and encouragement to every class. A special mention goes to Diogo's power training classes. They greatly improved my weightlifting technique and overall strength. Before joining, I mainly used weight machines and had no experience with free-weight lifting. Diogo helped me develop confidence and proper form in the squat, bench press, and deadlift (SBD), opening up a whole new level of strength training for me. Beyond fitness, this is a family-friendly gym with a welcoming community. The events organized throughout the year make it easy to connect with other members, friends, and family. I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for professional coaching, effective workouts, and a supportive environment.

I am not a gym person and I hate working out, or at least I thought I did until I found Cigar City…read more I work as a software developer so I spend most of my day sitting in front of a computer. Compound that with the fact that I am getting older (39), it was imperative that I started becoming more active before my health began to suffer. I heard about CrossFit in passing, but didn't know much about it, so when I found Cigar City near where I work, I decided to check it out. Ben and Michael sat down and talked to me about fitness, nutrition, and the CrossFit culture, but what sold me was the fact that it looked fun. It wasn't just the normal routine of come in, workout, go home and repeat. The members (athletes in a CrossFit gym) and the coaches have a stake in each other's success and it shows. Everyone wants to see everyone else succeed and that mentality is contagious. The social aspect of CrossFit was something I did not anticipate. The workouts can be brutal, but they are always varied and I come away feeling accomplished and more importantly that I learned something about myself (physically or otherwise). The combination of being challenging and enlightening is a winner for me. I highly encourage anyone even slightly interested to try it out. It is unlike any gym experience I have ever had and I continue to enjoy it.
