Loads of problems with ShorecleanNJ and BEWARE. 1) They arrived 30 minutes after the scheduled arrival time (NOT A PROBLEM AT ALL) but owner insisted they were there on time. 1/2 doesn't really break the bank but just odd that he would insist and charge for that 1/2 hour for 2 workers. I tired showing him evidence that i had and he couldn't care less 2) They took their time, mostly chatted, a kitchen that was maybe 4ftx6ft at best - and were in there for 1:45 mins. 2 workers. Whole kitchen with 2 workers should of taken maybe 30 mins. 3) Real problem arrises when owner who is a large 6'4 muscle guy showed up. I'm a 70 year old women and he tried to bully me and say that I never agreed to a timeframe. True - I didn't but I also didn't think they would take their time and chit chat. He stood over me and tried to intimidate me. and say I was wrong about their arrival time. He wasn't here, I was. I tried to explain about that to him about how they really took their time - he barked back in an aggressive manor and wouldn't let me speak.. Hundreds of other cleaning services, no need to feel intimidated or overcharge. He charged tax but never showed me an invoice with the tax broken out. Simply horrible and scary to deal with. I paid him exactly what he requested then politely asked him to leave and he wouldn't. This became extremely scary and he continued to argue. Go elsewhere! read more

You know how when you're like 9 and a half months pregnant and you just bought a house and it's filthy and you feel overwhelmed at the prospect of cleaning it yourself so you think "throw some money at the problem and call it a day" and then you throw $700 at the problem and in the following days your mom is the one cleaning your oven and your standing at a wall scrubbing off dried boogers left from previous tenant's kids and your husband is wiping down super dusty light fixtures and cobwebs in cor and there's still random bug droppings in corners and kitchen drawers and you think "damn I threw all that money at this problem and it's still somehow my problem"!?!? I'm not saying the house wasn't 50-60% cleaner, because technically it was. I'm not saying I lied about how dirty it was to begin with, I specially said the word "filthy" when requesting a quote. What I am saying is I told everyone at the company I spoke to that I understand it's a big job and I am happy to pay more to have cleaners stay longer and get this job done so I don't have to stress it. Here I am stressing it. There is literally nothing in the house but walls and floors, no furniture and no carpet, yet somehow they didn't have time to clean the hardware on cabinet fronts or even clean inside the cabinets themselves. Or the light fixtures, or the face plates on half the light switches and electrical outlets or the big clumps of dust and dog hair hanging off the edges of the cabinet bases. In summation! Bill from Shore Clean has been such a tremendous help to me for a while. Unfortunately I will absolutely no longer use them as they have been doing a terrible job. Actually they have taking advantage of me not being there to watch them clean and basically barely cleaning. It seems they haven't been really cleaning at all. It's a real disappointment because they stayed off doing such a great job. Maybe they just need to hire a new team that is reliable and respectful of the money that they are being paid. It was extremely easy to book an appointment, and they had availability before almost all of the other places I called (which were at least a month out and some required an estimate visit before the actual clean). I am hoping to sell my home so I wanted it to be scrubbed before putting it on the market. The team that came in did a great job (especially Courtney)! The windows were done inside and out. Walls were wiped down, ceiling fans cleaned. They did an amazing job on the tile in the bathroom too. Each room had a crisp and clean feel. I will definitely consider them for future cleaning jobs. I asked for a same day service because I had a broker showing the house. The man said it would be more expensive than usual, which I understood. You would think if your charging $370 for 1000 sq ft house. (I told them he didn't have to do the bedrooms), you would get a deep clean. But instead they charged me an insane price for a half fast job. Lame. There was still toothpaste smudged on the bathroom counters, they apparently didn't even attempt to wipe. I complained and they gave me a lame $50 discount. Double the price of what I usually pay and less than half as good. read more

We recently bought a house in Asbury Park, NJ. We had the closing and mattresses delivered on the same day. I called Shore Clean and explained that I needed my house cleaned on that day and they said No problem. I had no idea what to expect as the house was a rental for two years. Sarah and Kurt arrived with cleaning supplies in hand when everything was chaotic and could not have been more professional and accommodating. They did everything I asked them to and more. Our house was filthy. Sarah and Kurt did such a thorough deep cleaning. They cleaned and dusted every inch of our new home. They were courteous and kind the whole day. We were so impressed with Shore Clean and Sarah and Kurt that we have decided to continue with their house cleaning company. We thought that we would only have the house cleaned initially for the first time and then we would continue with it ourselves, but they did such a good job that we will be hiring them to do our bi-weekly cleaning. Their response time and client-facing staff are great. Immediate quote, well-spoken management, pricing competitive. BUT they didn't actually clean!!! Hired for post construction, detailed dust removal and cleaning. I was told every surface of home would dusted and all appliances cleaned inside and out so we would be ready to move in and use our home. Was a high price tag, but I thought would be worthwhile. Instead, they dusted only certain spots, were not detailed in bathrooms (urine drops on toilet and scum around drains), and did not even touch the appliances (crumbs in fridge w cobwebs, smears in microwave, oven untouched including underneath where there was dust and garbage). We complained, they said they would make it right, and we sent photos of problem areas. They sent a team back who AGAIN didn't bother to touch appliances and stayed for just another 2 hours and made no visible improvements. Do not waste your time or money on this company. We are negotiating on price but are still paying more than the job was worth. Certainly more than the aggravation was worth too. Don't use them!! read more

I looked for cleaning help for my father who is in his late 60's and lives alone, and also works full time. Although he picks up after himself, like anyone in his situation it got to a point where he could benefit from help. There are certain detail tasks like dusting, baseboards, scrubbing the bathroom, and vacuuming under furniture, that can create a less-than-ideal environment if they build up. I came to visit from out of state and realized that it would be better if someone could help. That said, my father was hesitant about having strangers in his home -- it was more important than anything else for me to find a cleaning service that was bonded and insured (if anything broke, and/or if someone got hurt, it was important for the cleaning company to have all responsibility, not my father). Shore Clean fit the bill as a bonded and insured company, who had that in writing. Before deciding which service to use, I researched all the cleaning agencies around where he lives (Central NJ) by checking every review site, and I also looked at their websites to learn more about their services in detail. Shore Clean seemed to include some tasks in their services that others did not, and also they seemed to have just about 100% positive, detailed feedback on every site. Then I called and talked with the owner, Bill. Their prices were fair compared with anyone else considering the number of hours and workers they sent. The owner also preferred to send a manager the first time with a new client at a new house. It was easy to book the appointment -- he called me back personally within an hour or so of my message, and I had a quote in front of me shortly after that, and we scheduled for two days later. He answered all my questions. Now onto the cleaning. The two very polite and hardworking young women stayed beyond the expected time (without additional cost) to make sure everything was perfect. I have never, ever, ever seen my father's house so sparkling. You should have seen his facial expression. They cleaned better than I could have. Every single detail from top to bottom was cleaned. Every nook and cranny. I asked for the extra "fridge cleaning" and the inside of his fridge was not only sparkling but organized (well worth it). As one example of what they did, I never thought it was possible for the toilet and bathtub to look white instead of having a tint to them on the inside. Both looked white like new when the cleaners were done. Every major piece of the house was thoroughly cleaned: unreachable tops of furniture dusted, crevices between furniture, everything. Also literally every picture frame, collectible, and item was dusted. I was amazed. It was like a new house. I can't even describe how every centimeter of the house was cleaned. It's obvious that having a clean home will improve the quality of my father's life. My next task is to set up regular cleanings. I'm grateful for the amazing job that Shore Clean did and I would recommend them to anyone for the high quality and professionalism of their service. read more

Don't do it. Just don't. After a winter and spring of trim work as well as some interior construction, I needed a cleaning service that could handle a lot of dust. I looked at the reviews and thought Shore Clean might work. So Bill came over and gave me a quote which was left empty. Come to find out they assigned 4 people to my 4 bedroom home. Keep in mind I expected 4 people to kick this out in 2-3 hours, as dust was the only real issue here. 6 HOURS!!! In addition, to being charged by the hour, also charged by the person. The total once finished was 1061.00!!! The only good part was whoever did the windows did a pretty good job, other than that, I had to re-mop the kitchen and bathroom floors due to the fact they were really streaky. A few days later, I discovered one of my limited edition pottery vases was chipped. This vase never moves, yet they claimed it must have been broken before, regardless, they offered to pay half for the chipped vase. To date, almost one year later, I have heard nothing from them. So, to wrap it up. Do yourself a favor. Bypass these guys. The cleaning left a lot to be desired and so did the customer service. read more
