On cold wet days, when going outdoors is not an option, I like to mall walk…read more So when I found myself in Beckley one drizzly morning I immediately yelped the nearest mall. Beckley is not a thriving cultural metropolis so the fact that they even had a mall at ALL earned a star. They got an additional star for being open early for mall walking so I joined the other octogenarians for 1/2 mile laps around the mall. It should be stated the mall is on the smallish size and doesn't have the high end department stores you might find in larger cities but there was a decent selection and only 1 was going out of business (I thought it would be more). For that, they earned an additional star. The last star they get for being super clean (although outdated) and EVERYONE I came across was sooooo nice! But that might have more to do with West Virginia on a whole and less with the mall. Oh well, still 4 stars!

I love going to this mall but, I think it needs more places to eat. There is a couple places to eat…read morelike the boba tea shop and steak escape maybe more. Don't get me wrong I love boba but you can't even get a steak at steak escape it's just confusing. There used to be a Chick-fil-A there I'm pretty sure and I think they should maybe bring it back or put a pizza place there. A lot I mean A LOT of places there are way too overpriced. A 60$ Ghost hoodie? hell yeah I'll buy it but I don't think it's a very good price. Most of the people there are very nice which is pleasant. I also love the random little birdies.

For Christmas this year, Santa brought our tween and teen mostly cash under the tree, as they are…read moreat that age when shopping for themselves is a gift in and of itself. Santa also brought our Buffalo-based fam' a road trip to Bridgeport WV for no better reason than to go someplace together that we had not been. Meadowbrook Mall was close to our Bridgeport hotel, and we spent some time here a couple of days on our trip for the kids to elimnate some of that Christmas dough that was burning a hole in their respective wallets. Compared to most of our malls at home in WNY, Meadowbrook Mall is actually boomin'! Yes, it is a mall, and malls are dwindling in general, so Meadowbrook does have its fair share of empty storefronts. But there is still a good amount of shopping still available here. And much of it is chain stores, as compared to our malls at home that are a lot of consignment second-hand shopping. Don't get me wrong, I love thrifting and treasure hunting at our malls, but it was nice for a change to see a Hot Topic, a Spencer's, a Bath and Body Works, a Victoria's Secret, and several other good ole' mall staples still hanging on here in Meadowbrook Mall. Target, Old Navy, and Marshall's are a few of the larger anchor stores still holding down the mall here too. There is also a nice chain bookstore, Books-a-Million. Our tween son also had a blast in the VR game place, Planet X I think? He played a VR boxing game for a half hour, and game out all sweaty and pumped! The food court was a real surprise for us. Sadly our WNY mall food courts are mostly a dead done deal, fairly barren in our malls. But the food court at Meadowbrook had something like eight or ten places to choose from, plus Great American Cookies and Bubble World on the fringes of the food court for sweet treats. We had dinner in the food court one night, something we haven't done in a long time. Overall our tween and teen were pleased with their shopping spreed at Meadowbrook Mall. They both came out with a variety of clothing and other items, all purchased at sale or clearance deal prices. If you don't think Meadowbrook Mall is all that great, perhaps you aren't aware of what malls are like in other parts of the country. You have a real gem of a clean, nice mid-sized mall that is still hanging on with a decent variety of shopping, entertainment, and eateries. Kudos to you, Meadowbrook Mall!

3.5 stars overall. Meadowbrook Mall is an indoor mall that has dozens of stores and many…read morerestaurants. Most storefronts are occupied, so unlike many other malls, this mall is not dying. As of late 2022, current stores include JCPenney, Target, the Shoe Dept., GNC, Hallmark, Old Navy, Buckle, Ulta, rue 21, Torrid, Kay Jewelers, Journeys, Bath and Body Works, Claire's, Zales, Lids, Marshall's, Finish Line, Candy Unlimited, American Eagle, Maurice's, Spencer's, Hot Topic, fye, GameStop, Showtime Music, Books a Million, Joann, etcetera. Current restaurants include Chick-fil-A, Auntie Anne's, Charley's Philly Steaks, Eastern Wok, etcetera. Options for entertainment include a Cinemark movie theater, an arcade, etcetera. I thought that most of the clothing stores were for teenagers rather than for my age group. I ended up buying only socks in one store, so I did not do my best shopping here.

I always come here with my family, particularly my grandmother and younger brother. There aren't many locations here, but the ones that are here are amazing, which I'll list the best places below: 1. Peking: I don't personally like Peking all that much, but what I have had I love it. My grandmother and brother love the food which makes us always stop here when in town. I would recommend the chicken if getting anything. 2. Dollar Tree: It's a Dollar Tree, there's really not much to say besides it's a small nice place that is very good when you need to get something quick like decorations or just snacks. 3. Food bar: I don't remember the name of the other food location across from the CM Games, but no matter what you get from here it's hot, and absolutely delicious, and the service is absolutely amazing. 4. Gaming Co: This is where we pick up games typically. Though a small selection, there is no room for disappointment. The games always work without a doubt and they're always cheaper here. I did leave review here earlier, so I won't go into deep detail. There are also plenty of good restaurants around here as well as a good Tractor Supplies connected to the mall. I just love this mall, small, quiet, and has many good places.

I suggest that they start to follow Americans with Disabilities Act that requires public business to follow ADA law and Southside Cinemas falls in that category. Get closed captions equipment as there are a few choice, one of them is a equipment that runs the movie itself with closed captions ready or a closed captions glass $200 per that's provided by distributors. Although their screen is A-Okay, need to improve in many ways including closed captions which can be easily afforded.
