"Garment Center Tour is Fabulous!!" I am quite impressed with this tour. You will be going to showrooms of designers you may not have heard of before but be open minded--some of them have worked for the big fashion names so while their name may not be well known and commercial they are pros at what they do. I loved that I was getting things that are a little hard to find and/or unique. I bought two purses that were created yet never mass produced so they are one of a kinds. Even though I didn't find something I liked at every showroom, I found enough to make it more than worthwhile and worth the cost of a tour, and I enjoyed meeting the designers and looking at everything (think about retail shopping, ,not likely you will buy at every store) Keve was our tour guide and she was very nice and informative. One designer was hilarious and after looking us up and down she went into her storage area to pull things out that she thought we should wear. Some other things to know-bring cash in addition to cards and there is no pressure to buy. After the tour we were given a sheet listing other sample sales going on in the city so we went on our own to a few of those and really enjoyed it. Definitely go on this tour and definitely bring friends!!! I loved it!! read more

The tour wasso interesting.. It was a very warm day, but despite the walking in the heat(even hot for weFloridians),we really enjoyed the experience of shopping in the showrooms - each one so different from the next. There seemed to be about 12 of us (one brave man tagging along) and2 guides- one wasin training, whichallowed the guides some extra flexibility to move us around a little easier. From my perspective, this was particularly warranted that day as the group was quite diverse in size, style, ages and temperment(including one woman whowas in particularlybad temper and attempted to drag us down. You are on vacation. come on!). But the guides rallied despite her andeven gave us extra time in the end, so that we didnt miss the handbagshowroom. Lots of accesssories on this particular tour, whichI was happy about. Tip: Bring some cash. I do recommend and will come back againin another seasonto see what else the Tour offers. ps: If you are a Project Runway watcher, we recommend youpop into Mood Fabric as we did, after the tour. read more

This was the perfect private shopping tour! My guide was Gemma and she followed my requests to the letter and took me to wonderful shops in SoHo. She was pleasant to be with and helped me pick out very nice clothes and accessories. We shopped at several stores where I received a discount and one in particular I saved $50 on a purchase. We went to stores that were unique or originated in NYC and I received a lot of personal attention as most the stores were small. I arrived in NYC from San Francisco on a red eye and was so tired and I would have been unable to navigate the streets of New York City without Gemma's help. She even made a dinner reservation for me when I told her I needed one for that night! If you want a tour guide for shopping you can't go wrong with Shop Gotham. read more

I booked the Garment District tour as a surprise for my girlfriend and we Both had an awesome time, especially with Camber as our tour guide! She was knowledgeable and fabulous! We went to 6 showrooms which offered all kinds of clothing and accessories; each seemed to have its own unique personality. The designers and staff we met were warm and welcoming. It's obvious they are very passionate about what they do, which makes this program an experience, not just a shopping jaunt. My girlfriend bought quite a few items and was very happy with the pricing too! For women who like to shop, this is a fantastic activity to check out while in NYC! (plenty of bonus points for the guys who either book this or tag along to hold the bags) read more

;ust came home from my Private shopping tour and I mustsay that it was one of the most fun and truly fabulous days I have spent in new york. There were 4 of us and this was a birthday celebration for one, although we all benefitted. The lovely Marla set up the program by phone and it was then hosted by the ebullent and very knowledgeable Gemma. Our objective was stylish, affordable and age appropriate attire. A tight prograsm was crsfted in advance and we were sheparded to about 7 stores and even one sample sale. Each one of us founda couple of choice pieces: and moreover enjoyed the fast paced but relaxed nature of the program. GermmA could not have been more adorable. Targeted and productive. Highly recommend read more

On a recent trip to NYC,a couple of friends and I took the Garment Center tour and absolutely loved it! Here is why it's a great program. There seem to be a million sample sales with women jostling each other, clothes all over the floor.. etc. Instead, this tour took us into 6 nicely appointed showrooms with wonderful things to buy at wonderful prices. A couple of designers were there to welcome us and their enthusiasm really enhanced the experience. Our guide Natalie was charming and helpful. And as shopping is what you come for, I am thrilled with my purchases, a couple of beautiful items at prices I could not pass up. Really recommend for women who love to shop and we plan to come back in another season. read more

This is the 2nd time I have directed friends visiting us in NYC to the Garment Center Tour with Shop Gotham and once again, I looked like the hero. So it was time to write a review to support a solid company. Many bags with many items arrived back at our apartment with friend happily showing off their great purchases at great prices. Handbags, dresses, fun jewelry.. stories to tell about meeting nice designers and a lovely guide names Aimee who they wanted to adopt as a friend. Next time I send someone on this tour, I have made the commitment to join them. Not sure why we New Yorkers are not taking advantage too. Perhaps its habit forming! Nice work Shop Gotham. read more

The garment center tour was excellent!! First, I want to say that our guide Jess was Amazing. The shopping was expertly planned and then carried out by this delightful girl. We visited 6 showrooms, 3 were spectacular and 3 were ver nice, although not as much to my taste as the former. All said and told, it was a wonderful and different experience. My friend and I came away with beautiful handbags, clothes and accessories - at prices that were very pleasing. Highly recommend this to any woman who loves to shop and seeks a unique NYC experience. We will see you again Shop Gotham, when we bring our daughters back this fall. read more

What fun. I'm new to NYC (so not jaded quite yet) and thought I'd give this a whirl - have someone help me get my "sea legs". I first took the Garment Center tour and then the Soho/Nolita tour. They are very very different from each other ,which I enjoyed. The Soho tour was actually more useful for me in what I was looking to get out of it (get to know the area -see cool shops a bit off the main drag and a sense of that community), but I loved the Garment Center tour, as I'm sure I will never get into showrooms again. Both guides were AMAZING! well done Shop Gotham for your hiring and tours. I do recommend to all! read more

I was completely surprised with a NYC shopping tour for my Birthday with a couple of friends, and it was an incredible experience! Even though I live here, I have never had the opportunity to explore the Garment District and we all enjoyed learning about the fashion industry, meeting fashion designers, and touring showrooms. For us, the real bonus was getting to buy items which are not in the department stores (who wants to see themselves coming and going on the street!?) Our guide Jacque's professionalism and warm personality made the day extra tons of fun. ghly recommend this tour to anyone! read more

A MUST DO for a fun ladies day in NYC! Shop Gotham scheduled a customized tour for us that included current fashion designers. Being able to meet some of the designers personally was an added bonus! There was something for everyone on our tour as the variety of merchandise ranged from scarves to furs! Our guide was especially helpful in keeping us on schedule! Five showrooms later, we were ALL very pleased with our discounted purchases! This will now become a yearly event for us! read more

The best choice for a mother-daughter day when visiting New York. My 15 year old teenage twin daughters live to shop and then some. Shopping was my "ammo" to get them out of the hotel! Found Shop Gotham through a friend, booked a private tour of Soho and boy was this the solution. The shopping was amazing, the guide Melanie knew just where to take the girls as well as keep them thoroughly entertained. Highly recommend. Happy Teens , Happy Mom! read more

I am a recent Fit graduate and I decided to take a tour last month by myself. I was greeted warmly by the other ladies that had purchased tickets and our tour guide Jessica was a sweetheart! Not only did I learn history about the garment section of NYC, but the showroom access was unbelievable! Great shopping discounts and lots of laughs. I would highly recommend this tour to any age- the three hours fly by! read more

Awesome Christmas gift for my girlfriend who love to shop and shop some more. We just moved to New York together and she doesn't have much time to shop and so I was happy to force feed a day of shopping on her. I let the office determine her program which included a concentration on vintage shops which she loves. The whole day was a great success and recommend to other guys to give as a gift. read more

What a way to my girlfriends heart: Shopping for her with someone else guiding us. I randomly found this company while searching for a novel gift idea for her. A few questions in advance and a plan for her was created that was a slam dunk. Our guide Sarah was Nothing short of fabulous, We had lots of laughs along the way, while filling the bags. Nice work shop Gotham and thank you! read more

This had to be one of the best NYC trips I have taken with students. Everything was well organized. The guides were great and had such interesting backgrounds and experience! From the guides to the designer showrooms and the jewelry factory tour, the students were able to see all levels of the professions to pursue in the garment/fashion industry! read more

I booked the Garment Center program based on online reviews and was very pleased. If you want to shop NYC in a different and non overwhelming manner, I also recommend this. I enjoyed the showroom experience and found the value of the clothing and accessories to be excellent. It was quite fun and I will likely do it again at another time. read more
