For all Seinfeld fans, this is a must do. The Real Kramer is an awesome and colorful gentleman and it was great to meet him. A few months later after I took his tour, I saw Kenny Kramer at the ballet in Lincoln Center. He loves New York City and the Arts as much as I do! As for the tour, you first see a film about Seinfeld in a tiny theater, and then Kramer introduced all his merchandise, including an "Assman" license plate and some T-shirts. Then you board a bus and play Seinfeld trivia and tour the various sites made famous by the show. Then, you go to the Soupman stand and while in line, Kenny Kramer poses for photos with you. The Seinfeld Tour was absolutely amazing mainly because it's actually led by the real life Kramer -- Kenny Kramer! It was such a hoot hearing Kramer tell us about his personal experiences being neighbors and friends with Larry David (real life George). He told us many stories about Larry David, and about real life events that made it onto the tv show. The tour starts out a local theater with a warm-up comedy act and then Kenny Kramer is introduced. He told us about the show, his involvement with the show and how he launched the tour, and then got right on with his entrepreneurial ways, and began pitching his many different products he sells. It was quite funny -- life imitating art! He sells a wide variety of creative gift items and apparel. Our budget was tight so we skipped on that, but he was signing items as well. Then on the bus, Kramer led us around the city showing us many spots featured on the show and real life spots like his apartment building he shared with Larry David. There's also a pit stop at the original Soupman location which the Soup Nazi episode was based on. It's just a soup stand, but boy is the soup marvelous. Kenny Kramer also poses for pictures here! We got an awesome picture with him in front of the place,. He's really nice, and signed our tour pamphlet and posed for photos. He's quite funny too and the anecdotes he shares really make the tour. A tour hosted by one of my favorite actors of all time. Michael Richards. I wonder why/how he is available for a gig like this. Seeing him in real life brought me right back to my favorite Seinfeld episode of all time, season 3 episode 8 "The Tape." Jerry uses a voice recorder at his set for the purpose of being able to listen back to his new material and make tweaks from there - only to find that an unknown lady has recorded a voiceover on the tape... what a wild surprise it was for Jerry Seinfeld and George Costanza, because of the erotic sensual tone of the lady's recording. Elaine thinks it's all very funny... since SHE is the mystery lady on the tape.Elaine tells George that she is the lady... he is suddenly infatuated with her. I Don't blame him! Lol. Don't tell my wife John. Please. Meanwhile... Jerry still doesn't know that it is her. In the same episode, George has also purchased a hair growing cream from China that carries a less-than-pleasant odor. read more

Fantastic experience! I loved meeting the "Real Kramer". Very funny man! Great bus tour and loved hearing all of the stories he told! I took my new son-in-law, Matt and I think we loved our stop at "The Soup Kitchen". Awesome soup! I would go on the tour again! Awesome fun!!! read more

So I ended up paying for the tour years after I wrote my review. I honestly had to do it because I wanted to say I got to meet the real Kramer. I'm a huge Seinfeld and Curb fan and I thought most of the tour was boring to be honest. Let me walk you through the tour: You are told to get there 15 minutes early in a theater that is under an Italian restaurant (easy to miss). You among with other people from the tour as well as other people from an unrelated event being held there (mine was for kids auditioning for the Wizard of Oz LOL) cramped together in the "lounge" of the theater (tiny room). You wait, and will wait until an actor (no one anyone would know but nice guy) Kramer hired checks you in. You will then be told to wait now in the theater. You will wait some more until the actor comes back. He then plays for you a Kramer introduction thing on the projector until Kenny Kramer comes in finally. Kenny Kramer will talk about Larry David most of the time only sharing a few incidences that he did which were his stories (even though George is based off LD, most of the George/Jerry/Kramer scenes were all related to things off LD's life from listening to KK). You will then go back to to the lounge to either buy souvenirs (most people including myself bought some items) and/or use the toilets (smallest toilet stalls I have ever been in since elementary school lol). After you will get on the bus with Kramer. He will continue with his stories but this time point out some Seinfeld landmarks in Manhattan like the movie theater where Jerry made out with his girlfriend during Schindler's List, Mum's/Tom's Diner, H&H Bagels, and the YMCA. He will also point out 2 huge apartment buildings in which most of the people are performers getting subsidized rent by the state or the city (that's where he met LD). That was interesting because I never knew a place like this existed. You will also stop at the Real Soupman ("Has anyone ever told you that you look like Al Pachino?"). I've been there a few times already but got soup again (potato leek was nothing special). This is where KK does photo ops with you. Continue with the bus tour and then eventually get dropped off near the theater. Kramer was nice enough to get his pictures taken with us on the tour and had a small Q&A session on the bus at the end of the tour. I was expecting him to be more like Michael Richards but he was a lot more subdued and low energy than I expected. There also was really no mingling to get to know us fans aside from asking who was from out of town (apparently Seinfeld is HUGE in Australia, but also has a following in Germany and Brazil). All of this you can simply do on your own however I feel like it is something Seinfeld fans should do so you could have your picture taken with the real Kramer. Non Seinfeld fans will be bored. I did expect more but I'm glad I went. read more

This is one of the better values in Manhattan. If you are a Seinfeld fan there is really no reason to not go on this, the "real Kramer" gives a professional, planned out entertaining experience for all the fans. It's not a fogazzi rip off of the real show. Several episodes are actually based on a lot of real life experiences of the true Kenny Kramer. He is personable, and you can tell he wants the customers to get their money's worth. Which you will. You will hear tons of Kramer and Larry David stories which are incredible. 3 hours of interaction with the real Kramer gives a greater appreciation for writing of Seinfeld and how the show evolved to be the greatest sit com of all time. He validates that though there are some creative liberties to the characters they truly are based on real people and real experiences which is why it is so relatable across generations. Honestly, a two stars rating is very generous. I love Seinfeld fanatically and I love "the idea" of this tour, especially since its incorporated into the tv-show. But this is so hard too do justice. I feel like I have to write this from two angles: 1. As a tour it is certainly lacking a whole lot. It's more of pointing out obvious landmarks as the bus rolls around than a Seinfeld related tour. We roll by the Apple store and are given the fascinating info that Kramer (the real one) one had to exchange his ipad in the middle of the night, and that was not a problem. Riveting. The media equipment on the bus was awful with videos looking like old wilted VHS tapes with the sound brawling out from broken speakers. 2. I loved the tour. It's a very fond memory because of the cheapness and the make do attitude. It's still very much alive in my memory. So, don't have any expectations and accept the weirdness/Kramer-ism of it all and you'll love it. read more

Loved the tour! Any Seinfeld fan's dream come true. The Real Kramer is so funny and articulate. He told tons of stories about the show and Larry David. Not only did the bus tour take us to a lot of the seinfeld famous sights, Kramer also told us a lot about New York in General as the bus passed by some New York landmarks on the way to the famous sights. This Tour just made our Trip so much more memorable. For Seinfeld fans, you would love this! We got to experience being in an old theater and had a tour. Watching Seinfeld now is so much better because Kenny Kramer told us stories about so many aspects of the show, from how it came to be, storylines, the crew and showed us around the places some scenes took place. I bought this tour for my mom because she's a Seinfeld fanatic. I thought because I wasn't a fan of the show that I'd be bored. I ended up loving it. It was well worth the coin. I laughed the whole time. I appreciated the bus tour because it gives you a break from all of the walking tours. The stop for lobster bisque was amazing. Now if you love TV as much as I do, and you love 90s sitcoms, you've got to go on the Real Kramer Tour. Just like the character of Jerry Seinfeld who lived across the hall from Cosmo Kramer in the show Seinfeld, co-creator Larry David lived across the hall from Kenny Kramer in Hell's Kitchen, and voila, the inspiration behind Michael Richard's character was born. As the story goes, Seinfeld and Larry David were going to call the character 'Kessler' due to fears that the name might spur the real Kramer to exploit it, but they decided that the name was too good not to use. And of course being an 'artist' himself, Kenny Kramer proceeded to contact the show with a list of demands that were of course financial but one demand not met was that Kenny would get to play Kramer which eventually would be parodied in the show. This then led to Kenny starting Kramer's Reality Tour (which was also later spoofed in the show) which tells behind the scene Seinfeld stories and takes you to tour sites made famous by Seinfeld. On the bus it even says: Of course I'm the real Kramer, who else could have thought up a scheme like this? Now what more proof do you need? The 'real' Kramer invites you to join him as he takes you on a 3 hour bus tour of New York City (and he is a licensed New York Tour Guide by the way). As I went quite a long time ago, some of the tour may have changed, but you visit locations like the real Soup Shop (aka the Soup Nazi), the office building where Elaine worked for Pendant Publishing and of course the iconic Monk's Restaurant (which is really Tom's). After a few photo opps, seeing where Elaine bought her last 'sponge' (apparently we weren't sponge worthy to stop), Kramer then took us back to the restaurant at the bottom of his building (as he is the Master of his domain) for homemade pizza and dessert - a Snickers served with a knife and fork of course. read more
