I have several reasons for the low grade. 1) horrible hours closed Wednesday, the weekends and every holiday 2) extremely expensive higher than NYC and LA even when a highly sought after celebrity lash artist 3) lashes started falling out within 24-48hrs. By day 4 the left eye had 2 lashes remaining 4) I addressed this they said they would make an "exception" to look at them and fix if necessary. Unfortunately the date I was given was during a big board mtg at work and a family member had passed and needed to leave the US. 5) I asked for a refund and got a flat NO they were not willing to help. You charged me $180USD for lashes that fell out within 24-48 hrs. YES I followed your instructions and I'd been getting lashes by professionals since 2012. Since I will not be returning anytime soon would had hoped you'd honor a refund! read more

Beautiful studio clean and comfortable. Had lash refill yesterday. It was not done according to my request. I was on vacation and the mishap ruined my whole day. Had to go back to fix. This studio uses very thin lashes. I wanted volume and density. Have been wearing lashes for 10 years and never had such sparse lashes applied. Maybe that is how they do it here in Sarasota. Just not what I was looking for. Very nice lash artist just didn't understand my request. read more

Would advise to ask price before going. Went to Shoko for 2 years and Nathalie was very professional & pleasant. The price was reasonable and I was always very grateful. Nathalie left, The owner took care of me and I thought that she wasn't as gentle with lashes extension procedure and told her so. When I had to pay my bill, for a full set it was $275 with tip $316.25 for an hour. I understood that it was a full set but I never, ever anywhere, did I pay that amount. It wasn't just the shock of not paying the bill that upset me but the attitude... She told me, my prices are higher than my staff and I told her that she should warn her new client prior procedure...Will not return & do not recommend... I have got lash extensions at Shoko for several years, and I love the ambience, the service, and of course, the results. (Thanks Ella!) My eyelashes look natural, only better! My optometrist is very impressed with the application: no extra glue, each lash expertly in place, no debris or dirt. She is generally not a fan of lash extensions because, if not done properly, can lead to a possible infection. So kudus from me and my optometrist. read more

I did a lash lift and tint bc my lashes were long and beautiful and didn't want to fuss with mascara during the summer. I had them done about 5 weeks ago, and I now how breakage and they are very sparse. Not at all happy. I would not recommend this procedure to anyone. read more

I love Shoko lash studio. I have been numerous places in Sarasota and this studio is by far the best I've been to. I have a newborn baby so I've had to cancel two appointments in the 4 months I've been going there (I know I feel horrible) and they were so accommodating, they didn't charge me for either even though they have a strict cancellation policy. I thought that was very kind of them. They've always worked with me to reschedule or get me in at a time that works so that I'm not stuck having to get an entire new set, which costs significantly more than a relash. I always schedule with Alyssa, she's very kind and gentle and for her price range (she is the least expensive technician) she does great work. Next appt I'll be trying the volumation lashes with another technician because Alyssa doesn't do those yet. Will update after having them done! read more

I've been trying several local places to gt my lashes tinted instead of doing it in L.A. almost every time I'm there. I've settled on Shoko Lash Studio with Adriana who did a lovely job, we very gentle in both application and tint removal and has a wonderful personality to boot. The last place I went to (Lash Boutique), the woman had a real attitude when I asked any questions. (I've been getting my lashes tinted for about 20 years by one of the the best in LA - Nadia Thibault, so I had questions about how it was being done here, what tint was being used, etc) the woman was snotty, unfriendly, annoyed that I asked for a pillow to support my lower back (the table was flat except for a thin neck pillow) and was not gentle about applying or removing the tint. There was also zero after care. The skin around my eyes was very dry after her. Not so with Adriana. She was friendly, informative, charming, gentle and applied an eye serum afterward to the delicate skin around my eyes. No stinging, no redness and unlike the other place, she gave aftercare instructions. I will be back. This is the place to go. read more
