    Nearly white Yum yum sauce

The worst hibachi I have eaten, ever. The Soup was a hot water broth with no flavor. The Salad was decent quality, but the dressing was made of pure mayonnaise with no ginger or seasonings. The stir-fried rice was undercooked and hard with little to no seasoning at all. The vegetables were frozen and cooked up soft/mushy. The chicken, although cooked well, lacked flavor, and had to be completely doused in teriyaki sauce to give if flavor. Our family favorite of perfect yum yum sauce has downgraded to cheap mayo with a touch of spice. Despicable. Overall: terrible food. Ambience was rushed and there was no entertainment or interaction (for children) at the grill, like a normal hibachi. When this Shogun opened years ago it was our very favorite place to dine when we had guests or special days. We will not be going back, ever.

    Hibachi dinner for 2!

Every time I come here I am so impressed. I never get tired of the hibachi grill and watching them do cool tricks while making your food in front of you. The chefs are always interacting with you and will sometimes let you get the chance to catch something in your mouth. The food is amazing and the yum yum sauce is a must! You're definitely getting what you pay!

My grandmother and I came for dinner last night. The parking lot was packed and there was a bunch of people waiting when we walked in. We quickly realized everyone was waiting for the hibachi grill because we were seated right away and noticed plenty of open tables. I took a lap around the restaurant and noticed how HUGE this place is. I really like the space and it's nice and clean. Our service was a little...off though. One of the menu's we were given had no menu inside of the cover, as if it had fallen out. So we shared a menu - passing it back and fourth. I decided to have sushi so I ordered the Seafood Roll and an appetizer of Potstickers. The Seafood Roll was yummy but the fried potstickers (which I thought would be pan fried) were not. They were hard and a little burned..plus you only get 5 small ones so a bit overpriced. My grandmother was disappointed in her salmon salad and onion soup as the menu stated it was romaine lettuce and the entire thing was iceberg lettuce with minimal veggies. She said her salmon did not taste grilled and the soup lacked flavor. Our food came was fast and the overall experience was not bad. I'd come back and try something off the hibachi menu.

4 for dinner. My food came after everyone had finished their meal. I asked for a discount on a $103 meal. They gave me $5. Lousy management!

While it's clear the chefs aren't highly trained hibachi and sushi chefs, they do well enough for a small town like Owensboro.

Good is always excellent as is service. Prices have too gotten expensive to enjoy as often as I use to.

Well heck, I am a healthy man with a strong appetite for delicious food. Why not order both? I can handle it. Out came the Spam Musubi. A block of rice topped with a fried egg (a buck extra... heck yeah) and a slice of fried Spam. All stacked beautifully together like Legos and hugged by a nori blanket. I take my first bite and oh my goose nest!!! The spam is covered in caramelized teriyaki sauce. I've probably eaten these a million times but this was new and pretty special. A small variation of flavor and texture from what I was expecting and it made it more enjoyable. So I killed the musubi and out comes my loco moco. The food covered every bit of real estate on the plate. I was caught off guard and feeling a bit overwhelmed. Surely I could finish my dish. My palms were sweaty. Knees weak, arms were heavy. Can I perform? Screw it. Just grab the fork and start. Cucumber salad. Start on the green stuff. Oh my goose nest! It's good. Cool and sweet. Refreshing. Taste the pasta salad. Yummy as well. Loco Coco time. A bed of rice topped with onions, burger patty, sunny side up eggs, and smothered in brown gravy. Oooooh. I love it. This dish brings back so many memories. Takes me to the Pacific Ocean. I grub down with island vibe music jamming in the background. My server checks in on me and treats me well. And then it happens. I'm super full. I'm only half done with my loco moco. Failure hits me hard. I have to tuck my tail and ask for a take out box and carry it through the restaurant with all the other patrons whispering, pointing, and snickering at my shortcoming. But wait. I'm dining alone and this isn't an eating contest. Well heck. Just like that... I feel great! So what if I couldn't finish my food. It was a massive portion! Try it for yourself if ya be so bold.

The ambiance was casual but lively with the Olympics playing on the tv screens! I ordered a poke bowl and was pleasantly surprised at how fresh and delicious it was (hard to find in a landlocked state!). The edamame and cucumber kimchi were good but I think I will hold off on the cucumber kimchi next time (was a bit soft!). Overall, a lovely spot for dinner!

Theme menu with apps, sushi and hibachi all based on rock music. It's really clever actually. We sampled a few different rolls, as well as some chicken hibachi. The rolls were quite tasty, albeit in the expensive side. One dish of note was the tuna tartare app. A nice portion of chopped tuna, topped with a couple of sauces, and served with fried wonton chips. I would return just to eat this again!!!! Our server/ service was outstanding!!! It wasn't too busy when we dined, but everything came out quickly. Now..... bad news for the hibachi fans.... I'm sorry to say it just wasn't tasty. The rice and veg were quite bland, and the chicken pieces had lots of gristle, and seemed undercooked. Like I had to spit it out in my napkin. I would like to give the service a 5, but the hibachi gets a 1.
