The last time I was in there was April 18 (which was the date in 1988 when I got caught trying to nick a pair of shoes from Quiggins incidentally) when I was looking for a pair of the same shoes I saw in Liscard...the ONLY ******* branch left now and the Bootle shop was a depressing sight. Whereas there would have been row upon row of shoes at one time they were just arranged in any old order. Don't know why I went in there really because I made a special trip over to Liscard two days later to pick the shoes up, not to mention a pair of black patent courts in a six...probably the LAST ones in that size. It's CRIMINAL closing the chain down because they had more choice of shoes in there than you could shake a shoehorn at and, as for tights, that's where I used to stock up! I've been in Shoe Zone and, not only do they have about as much choice as a Welsh chippy but the shoes aren't that cheap...unless of course you're prepared to pay nearly twenty quid or more. I mean who are they? an outlet version of Marksies?

This is a great place to get some bargain items, or some cheap clothes for your kids--let's face it, kids go through clothes so fast anyway, what's the point in spending a fortune on them?

The children's clothes are very unique and you wouldn't seem them in most high street shops. On the right side of the shop there is a wide choice of outfits, tops, dresses, handbags, belts, skirts and jumpers etc. There are always lots to choose from and the styles vary from casual to going out clothes. I always see something that I like in there. I find the shop really cheap and always has lots of bargains.

But I'm so proud of independent, family owned shops like this. They work so hard to stay open while the big names and chains are cashing in right and left, and all the UK's money is being drained into companies that mostly aren't even owned by the UK. (Did you know Iceland is actually owned by Iceland?! I found that out on the news the other month. Shock!) So, if you're in the vicinity, and you need ballet slippers, or perhaps your tap shoes need new taps, this is the place to go. Pop in and show your support for the little guy.

Compared with several of the other clothing stores in the centre, this one offers items that would suit teens and those in their 20's-30's. I saw a lot of trendy, colourful dresses, tops, and other clothing as well as a few accessories. The prices were reasonable, but not so dirt cheap that you are wondering where exactly these clothes came from ... If you want a break from the usual Primark or H &M, and can't afford the more expensive stores, this is a good place to go.

They change what's on the rails around regularly though. When you go in the shop on the left it has rails with a mixture of different styled clothes on most of them are sale items. They have a wide variety and are always well stocked with footwear so there will tend to be a perfect fit if you take your time to look and try amongst their many shelves. Staff will be on hand to assist you if you need it and are generally friendly and considerate. While leather shoes here might not be the best of quality, I guess you pay for what you get but It is so easy to come here and buy more than one pair of shoes!
