I have gone to Dr Shoemaker before for minor issues, and all went fine. Then last Sunday, my 10 year old started complaining of neck pain. He couldn't turn his head, and his shoulder was elevated on one side. After 2 days of this (and hoping it would go away on it's own) I took him to a chiropractor in Allentown. The only reason I took him elsewhere is because Dr Shoemaker posts shorter hours on Tuesdays. The pain was still there, and now his one hip was also elevated. On Wednesday, the pain and malalignment were still there. I called Dr Shoemaker, who fit him in within 2 hours. Dr Shoemaker said he has scoliosis and wryneck. I've been to a few chiropractors before Dr. Shoemaker, so I figured that this will be another basic visit. Not at all actually. He listens and focused on the problem at hand and his treatments are awesome. I had a shoulder problem that just wouldn't go away but the first visit I had with Dr. Shoemaker and my shoulder was immediately better after the second visit my shoulder was amazing. He very skilled and good at teaching healthy ways to better your health from home as well as awesome corrections from his office. I have been going to chiropractors for at least 10 years now, not saying that these doctors haven't helped me, but I was talking to my daughter about her chiropractor and how much he has helped her and her family. They live in Florida now and their chiropractor lives in Georgia and yes they travel 31/2 hours to go to their chiropractor. The reason is that this chiropractor does Advanced Extremity Adjustment. She told me about Dr. Shoemaker here in Bethlehem and that I should go to him. He is the only chiropractor that I found in this area that does Advanced Extremity Adjustments. That it would make a World of Difference and I can Honestly say that it has. I only wished that I had listened to her sooner. Shoemaker is the man!! He is so amazing at what he does, he has helped me when no other doctor could. I was having terrible problems with my wrists due to playing guitar and the computer and had gone to extensive physical therapy. They didnt help me at all and were considering evasive surgery, I really didnt want to do that so I then went to see Shoemaker, he adjusted a vertebre in my spine that was effecting a nerve and worked on my wrists and now I dont have wrist problems anymore!! I have been a patient of Dr. George Shoemaker for about 25 years. During that time he has helped me, my husband and all of my 7 children with more health issues than I can remember. He is one of the most caring people I have ever known, and is an incredible doctor of chiropractic. He is constantly learning about and utilizing the latest advances in his field. I will focus on just one of the problems he has helped me with. A month ago, I mentioned to him in desperation that my feet were so painful that I was fearful of ending up in a wheelchair. To my surprise, he told me that he is now using low level laser therapy that could definitely help my feet. Horrible at scheduling. We have gone about 5 times and 3 out of those 5 times we got there on time and had to wait about 45 minutes to be seen. We traveled about 1.5 hours, so waiting that long on top of it wasn't entirely fun. He did help with the issues that I was having until the last time. He over books and I could tell he was rushed last visit. My hip and leg were getting better until that visit. He yanked my leg and made it worse. He hurried to get us in and out. So we rescheduled for 11 today so that I could address leg issue and have him fix it for me. When we arrived his receptionist said we were scheduled for 12. Someone wrote it in the book wrong. Well she huffed like it was our fault and had quite an attitude. She said she would fit us in anyway. My husband I were not happy with the way she treated us. My family member was along and she had the same vibe. They mischeduled and made us feel like we were at fault. We walked out. We gave Dr. Shoemaker a call. Basically in the nicest way he could he insinuated that we were pretty much wrong and she's the sweetest lady and has been his right hand girl for 20 years. Well if you haven't seen the attitude that THREE PEOPLE saw plain as day, sorry. We won't be coming back. So if you have a lot of time to spare and don't mind attitude he can help.
