Luckily didn't fall in the mud. Walked in and explained my lack of shoes on this trip. Was directed by a kind female associate to some semi water proof sketcher boots. 3 colors but they only had one in my size. They must have other stores because they can have a pair sent the next day. Although called Mr Shoes the shop does in fact sell more than just shoes - it also sells sandals, flip flops, trainers and boots. These are for both men and women, but there are no childrens shoes sold. There are often sales and special offers available, such as buy one get one half price. Due to the size of the shop there are very few sizes on display and they dont have a wide range of sizes in the store room which can be disappointing. Price wise I would say that the store is very competitive. Styling is often very modern. Staff are often helpful and will check stock in another branch for you if you request it.

I damaged my brown leather shoes on the day I bought them. I was distraught. I rang the shop and was advised to return them to see what they could do. I received them back today. WOW! I seriously cannot tell where the damage was. Fantastic service and craftsmanship to be proud of. Church shoes are the best. It is a pleasure and a privilege to wear and own them. Thank you.

It has the usual High Street names, ie Dorothy Perkins, River Island, Burtons, Claires Accessories, Thorntons etc. they also ocaasionally have small stalls set out in the middle selling gifty type items. They do special events in the school holidays and to promote other keys times, ie Halloween or Christmas. It has an undercover carpark attached, which is not too expensive and is good for when it is raining. There are two coffeee shops in the middle, my favourite is Esquires. All in all, this is a good place to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon, for some retail therapy.

It's filled with bland typical high street businesses like mobile phone companies' stores, HMV, Starbucks, Tophshop, etc. On the bright side there is also Hugo Boss here. An attempt to develop the upmarket retailing is also evident in a number of high end watch and jewelry boutiques. Overall though, with all the foreign tourists, students and the general reputation of Cambridge for being an attractive town, its premier modern department store could be somewhat more interesting.
