This detracts somewhat as there are often empty shops. However, in recent months it seems to have picked up a lot and I am back to enjoying my shopping experience with them. Especially at Christmas as they have carols etc and it all feels a little Dickensian! You can always find quirky presents and sit in the cafe and watch the world go buy. Good wheelchair access and a lift to the upper floor. At least as it is enclosed you don't get wet! Always a bonus.

It is only open Monday to Saturday, which is a shame, it would be handy if it opened on a Sunday like quite a few of the shops do. The staff are nice and the shoes very attractive though some of them are a bit cheaply made and look like they wont last long for example with the plastic heels. But for cheap fashion shoes they do the job and the prices are good. The flip flops are nice.

When I buy shoes and boots in here they always last me for ages and I don't have to get them re heeled for months. All of the boots in here are water proof and they do wide fitting shoes and boots as well. The staff are very helpful in haer and very polite. They will measure you feet for you if you ask and they always make sure you are satisfied with your choice before you buy.

In fact, it's so much about the leather that they only carry four or five trainers for boys. Jones Bootmaker also has a great range of shoe care products behind the counter. If you want to tenderly care for your shoes then they have brushes, polishes and shoe horns. Who would ever want to buy a wooden thing shaped like a foot that you put in a shoe to help it keep its shape? Is this the kind of thing a boy will never understand?

Although this one is probably the biggest and branches into kids shoes as well as adults. There is a lovely range of gladiator sandals ready for the summer on the right hand side of the shop (as you look at it) that made me go 'oooh' for a second before I realised I've not booked a holiday this year and England is too cold for sandals. Also on this side of the shop are the shoes that make you wonder 'do real people buy these or just the strippers?' There are a few stand-alone units that tend to have all the sale shoes on - if you're lucky you can get a fashionable bargain here. And then there's the kids' shoes on the other side, which freaks me out a bit when you hear the thick scouse accent exclaim "eh girl look at these - they'd be boss on the baby!". My opinion on how to dress kids is like this: until they are old enough to think for themselves they should be dressed like children. Not like Britney Spears. Shoes for children should be bought from Clark's and nowhere else. However, I think I'm pretty much alone in that. So: get your shoes from here if you want them cheap but fashionable and fairly sturdy, unless you're buying from the kids' section, in which case prepare for my disdainful looks!!

This is a tiny little shop, but I think that adds to its appeal, its not a huge, overpowering shop…read morethat pushes items on you. Its more of an 'alternative' shoe shop, selling skate type shoes and other similar items. I like loads of the shoes in here, and have bought some on many occasions, they seem to stock different shoes than elsewhere, which is good as I like shops who look for something different to interest customers. The guys who run the shop are really friendly and as its a small shop, they don't have much trouble seeing to everyone quickly and efficiently. The prices are kind of on the high side, but i'm not one to complain about paying for quality.
