My friend and I dropped off our shoes for store owner Vahid on a Wednesday. He had a customer at…read morethe time but was quick to assist us as soon as he was done. Our shoes include a range of men/women shoes: Gucci loafers, Ferragamo loafers, Hermès sandals, Louboutin loafers, YSL Chelsea boots, Alexander Wang ankle boots and some other pairs of shoes. Most shoes are damaged at the bottom where the wood panel, leather bottoms or heels are wore out. One pair is more severe as the leather is detached from the sole. Vahid has done a fantastic job to give new life to the pair by patching some leather and reattaching the leather to the soles without much trace at all. Vahid is professional as he not only quickly identified the problems with each pair, he is also helpful in advising us how the shoes can be repaired and offering options for us to choose. Some shoes require new fully protected bottoms whereas some can last with just protected heels. Vahid chooses the best color to match the original shoes' bottom so that the layer is unnoticeable from the side. Overall we are very happy with Vahid's professional work!

They said the glue of the sole to the boot was really old and has expired and needs to be re-glued. I told them that they were given to me by my late mom and I am from out of town and I had to get them fixed. Normally it would take them a few days, but they were so kind that they expedited the repair and I was able to pick them up within a few hours. I am so impressed with Professional Shoe Repair. They are quick, and did an impeccable repair job. I highly recommend!

He was careful to ask how much I wanted the areas stretched, and exactly where I wanted to focus the stretching. If the shoes still weren't stretched enough, he would charge again to stretch them more (though I think he said at half the usual price), which I didn't like - I won't always know how much I need my shoes stretched and it makes sense to stretch a bit at a time since you can't 'un'stretch them. As others have noted - he doesn't necessarily get things done when he says he will. He said my shoes would be ready on Monday - I went on Tuesday - and he asked me to come back on Wednesday to pick them up. I was not happy about this as I did have to come out of my way to get them. He did make up for it by giving my shoes a complimentary polish though. I found the price to be high - it was $8 for glueing the one insole (only had the problem on one side), and $20 to do the stretching. Plus taxes. Cash only. If you're going via subway, when you get off at Finch, head towards the North American Centre exit at the middle of the station, go through the doors and turn right - if you look all the way down the hall, past the Rexall on your right, you'll just be able to see the "Y&F" lit up past the elevators.

Pictures of the boots and finished job here: http://imgur.com/a/sjYjS I came into the shop to get rubber half soles attached to my Wolverine 1000 Mile boots. These boots are all leather, and despite the amazing leather and build quality, it has a full leather sole. Leather soles are very smooth and hence not very grippy at all, and it's very easy for them to soak water/salt and deform in the winter, hence my decision to get the half soles. I decided to have them done here since it's close to where I live, and I am very happy with the results! The actual job took about a week to finish. Not only did he add the half soles, but he also thoroughly cleaned the leather soles, the welts (edge of soles), and top of the shoes. The finished job was nothing less than high quality craftmanship. The half soles are extremely sturdy, and the actual gluing job is also very nice. They are also very flushed to the welts, and they look like they actually came with the shoes, which is amazing. This clearly shows that this man really cares about how your shoes look, as well as making sure you get quality repair/enhancements for your shoes. In addition, he promised to have the boots done within a week, and although he initially couldn't deliver on that timeframe, he insisted on staying late to finish my boots (I'm about talking about until 1 AM) when I came on the promised date to pick them up. This shows that he's very committed to giving his customers the best possible service, which is rare these days. Also, I understand why he couldn't deliver on time as his shop always appears to be full of shoes to work on, but I'm actually amazed that he wanted to stay late that night just to keep me happy as a customer. I really appreciated that! The shop is located inside the North American Centre nearby the subway entrance. The owner is a middle-aged Korean man, who knows a lot about shoes and leather care. He also has a lot of shoe care products in addition to other things. Also, please note that this store doesn't take debit or credit, so be sure to have cash handy! In conclusion, I am very happy with the service. The quality of the job is just so superb, and he was extremely polite, nice, and clearly cares about giving good customer service (in addition to good end products). I will definitely be coming back when it's time to resole these bad boys! Thanks!

I asked my Aunt if there was a place she recommended and she directed me to Bayview Village Shoe Service. In the back of Bayview Village, it's an unassuming tiny shop. You can't enter from inside the mall so you'll have to go out first. Given that it's in a mall, there is heaps of (free) parking. The entire sole of the shoes were replaced and I was charged $50 (plus tax). Pricing isn't too bad and the shoe repair was done in three days (dropped off my shoes on Friday afternoon and picked them up on Monday afternoon). There has to be a downside ... cash only. I was pleased with the shoe repair so I'll be back again.

It is a small store that you enter from outside the mall next to TImothy's and Loblaws. They charge $35 for the red plastic soles for the front of the shoe (where you step and ruin them, loub lovers will know how easily they ruin) plus HST. I picked up my trial pair last week and was very impressed. Brought in 2 other pairs and will pick them up tomorrow. Hopefully they will be perfect like these ones!
