I had never owned a pair of wedge soles before and they took the time to explain the differences in wedge material and leathers across the two brands I was comparing. I must have tried on six or seven pair as the sizing between the two brands was slightly different. The guys never complained or seemed put out. They were extremely helpful. As long as Chester Boot Shop is in business, I will never buy a pair anywhere else. As far as value, I would say that they are inline with any online retailer's pricing. Had a great experience here today getting fit for some new walking shoes. My old New Balance had a…read morehole in the toe and it was time to upgrade. Foot Solutions was recommended by my podiatrist after treating me for my plantars fasciitis (aka feet ouch). The sales rep was kind and super knowledgeable. She talked to me about how I walked, what I experienced with my existing shoes, and actually looked at me as I walked in the shoes I was trying on. The cost of the shoes was comparable to what I would have paid elsewhere for a good sneaker, and I had the benefit of her knowledge and care as we looked at my options. Also she pointed out some flip flops that were good for plantar fasciitis. I can never find flip flops! These were squishy and comfortable. I'm so happy with my shoes and can't wait to get my husband over there so we can get him fitted for some new kicks too.

These were Vince flats that cost nearly $400. Since then, I have called multiple times, only to be placed on hold until the call disconnects. No one has followed up, and there has been no attempt to take responsibility or resolve the issue. My shoes have either been misplaced or stolen, and the lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable.

They had at least 5 different brand names for the boots, like Timberland, DC and Colombia come to mind. Same with the tennis shoes; adidas, Fila, Nike, Sketchers and the list goes on and on. I picked up a pair of track shoes and I swear they only weighed 2 ounces, amazed. Prices were competitive and the staff was attentive even though the store was slammed with traffic when I was in there. If you're out lookin' for kicks, come kick it in here for a minute!

My problems are twofold: 1) The layout and signage is just not helpful. It's too wide open, the angular aisles are not conducive to a good shopping experience, and I can't tell where one section ends and another begins, or what the sections even are. 2) Price. If you don't do closeout, you're not getting a deal here. Maybe that's my problem, but for a place like this, I expect better prices.
