We were concerned that the new shoe may hurt, but the attendant assured us that these shoes had a 30 day return policy and that we could go ahead and try them, returning them if they didn't work for us. With that, we bought them and went on a hike to test them out. My wife ended up with severe foot pain. We tried to return them and were told the return could not be honored since they had been worn outdoors and were not in the original condition. I don't think this is unreasonable, but it would have really been good to know that- so we could have only tested them when walking indoors. That lack of information caused an expensive mistake. When we have purchased Brooks online their returns have been more hassle free (the company appears to price returns into their items) so we didn't think to question the employee further. Good service, misleading disclosures.

Scarborough location-my sister and I shopped there yesterday, the last day of the sale. The store…read morewas very busy, we were NOT in a rush and my sister went with the intent to purchase 3 pair of Dansko shoes-all with a retail price of $140.00. The person who waited on us kept rushing us, although she was decisive and knew exactly what she needed and wanted, so there was NO reason to rush through communication with us. The 3rd pair she tried on was the only correct size in that style, but had been a display shoe and was badly scratched. We asked if he could check inventory in another store (as that had been offered to my the previous day, during the sale). He got rather indignant about it and said they were too busy to call. I reminded him that he could do an electronic look up, as that had been done for me. He said he had done that and gave us some convoluted explanation that made no sense. I then asked if he could put in an order with Dansko as I know a nearby competitor with only one store does that routinely. He said absolutely not, they never do that. So, she bought her 2 pair and we left. We then went to the Falmouth LW location, which I will review separately as it was a VERY different experience.

First and foremost they have a great selection of great quality work boots in a lot of price ranges. My company gives us a great allowance so I got the best of the best of his selection which are all great quality at different price points. Great selection of work denim and canvas, beanies, shirts, socks. Basically if you need it for work he's got it. Second Paul the owner is a class act. Such a gentleman, knowledgeable, and you can tell that he loves supporting the workers that keep our electric, gas, roads, cable, telephone and all that stuff that keeps us running. He was extremely knowledgable and explained his reasoning behind selecting specific features and how they will help or hinder on the job. It is worth the drive to Lewiston to have him and his staff help. If you're up there you'd be an idiot to go anywhere else. Finally his pricing is great. You can tell he knows what he is selling and that he prices it fairly to make a profit to stay in business but keep it accessible for the guys that don't have unlimited clothing allowances.
