There is, deep, deep inside me, a man who is so fascinated by shoes that I was actually called out by a special friend with "What is it with you and shoes?" Yes, I am sort of into shoes, ever since I was four and my Mom would make sure I wore matching black high-top chucks with her, or my Dad, who insists that a man invests in a pair of sensible leather shoes. Thanks, parents.
Now, here in the country, the shoe game (naks) is driven by the local love of basketball. Sure, there are stores like Titan for your specialty basketball shoes (a godsend, as I wear size 13's), or the other sneaker outlets (too many to mention), but an enthusiast (chos) like me is less about how it wears on the court, and more for the look. This is where the resell players come in. for those not yet so informed, resellers are basically people who make a killing by selling off their own stock of shoes (used or unused, depending on rarity and veritable thirst of the buyer) for a tidy profit. The in-country resellers, are, to be fair, all about selling genuine stock, unlike the stalls in some local malls. Enter Shoe Boulevard.
Shoe Boulevard is Louie Ong, a bonafide BJJ (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) badass who has a passion for sneakers. He also happens to be THE bro to talk to when it comes to sneaker orders. In the time I have known Shoe Boulevard (or SB) has fielded at least five truly outrageous requests from me, and he has gamely entertained all of them, even if one of them turned out to be a UK-only exclusive. He is, in the parlance, The Plug.
He doesn't do a lot of mass-selling like the other resellers do, but what he bring is a friendly, specialized, and reasonably priced expertise in the game. Definitely someone you want to call if you're looking for a shoe reseller you can trust, or even a buddy you can talk about the shoe game with. read more
