I had the impression that, during the early stages of my relationship with SO, I always had to impress him. Sneakerheads line up and buy a load, so if there's one you really like, you may order/reserve online or make sure you're first in line; Their store's interiors is so beautifully designed that I literally gasped upon entering. And so many handsome shoes!; They have a lot of exclusive selections that you literally cannot find anywhere else. CONS: You may get lost in the jargon or be mesmerized by their ultra-hip store. I am really obsessed with shoes. I consider shoe buying as one of my guilty pleasures. It's the main reason why I am having a difficult time saving money. Whenever I am waiting for my sundo, I just go here to check out new shoes that I may want to buy. The best thing about Sole Academy is that they sell more than one brand of shoes. They have Vans, Nike, Adidas, Puma, and many more. I think every person who visits this place is just tempted to buy a new pair of shoes. It's like a haven for all shoe lovers out there. I love shoes but I don't consider myself as a sneakerhead. I was never a fan of running and basketball shoes until the Adidas ZX Flux series came out. Sole Academy was the first (if not the only) store that I encountered that featured these limited edition pairs. So even if their Katipunan branch was not very accessible, especially if you're a lazy commuter like me, I still grabbed a cab and went straight to the store without thinking twice. As soon as I went in, everything seemed really well organized. Shoes are shelved according to brand, model and style. I also noticed that most of the other customers seemed to look like ballers or sports buffs looking for their favorite brands or checking if the latest styles are already out. The sales guy who accommodated me was very polite and eloquent. He answered my questions and talked to me in straight english which I totally adored. His comments and suggestions were really honest and straightforward which I really appreciated. So if you're a sneakerhead or a shoe addict like me, visit their page and check out their merch first before heading directly to the store so you already have an idea on what you want. In a mostly Nike Basketball and retro Jordan-dominated local sneaker scene, it's refreshing to see establishments like Sole Academy to cater to the lifestyle pair community. Sole Academy is the place to be if you're more of an Airmax, Roshe Run, New Balance, Asics Gel-Lyte, or Adidas Flux kind of guy. My favorite drop from Sole Academy Katipunan was the Nike Air Trainer SC II "Megatron." I headed to the store at around 5 in the morning to assure my spot in line (there were two people ahead of me, first guy being in line since 9pm of the previous night). I did score my pair with the right size, but I especially enjoyed the release because I was able to gain a few friends while waiting for the shop to open. I also appreciate the passion of store ownership and staff when it comes to footwear. Becareful using your credit card with this store. The first time I made an online purchase from Sole Academy, everything was fine and the goods were authentic and were delivered on time. Upon being satisfied from my first buy, I decided to buy again from them online using my credit card but this time around I got a call from them saying that the item was out of stock already and asked if I would want another item or just a refund. So I said that I would just have a refund and according to them it would take 2-4 weeks. It's been almost 4 months now and it's still on my credit card bill and incurring charges each month. I followed up on them thru email and they said it was already being processed. But it's been almost 4 months already and still nothing. I also followed up again but this time they gave no response. I've already filed a dispute against their credit card transaction. Still hoping it will be resolved soon. read more
