I hired Curt for a home inspection prior to finalizing an on an offer. Overall it was a great experience. As a Corporate Auditor myself, I could appreciate his strong attention to detail and communication skills. He was very plain spoken and even when he got a little technical for me as a first-time homebuyer, he was happy to explain what he was seeing, why it was an issue, and the likely ramifications in an easy to understand manner. Curt was able to fit me in within four business days and as mentioned, his communication was great ahead of the visit - willing to explain his pricing and different package options. He was very thorough and professional throughout the inspection. It went a lot longer than I expected (3.5-4 hours!) and I think that speaks to the quality of Curt's inspection process (and in this case, the quality of the home). He saved me from purchasing a home which would have lead to a lot of headaches just to close and certainly more after the fact! Highly recommend Curt with Shipshape Home Inspections. He inspected my first home and was honest, knowledgable, and checked everything like a surgeon. This was a 100 year old house and he checked all the electrical, the walls, the floor, all the renovated work making sure they didn't just cover stuff up with paint, etc. He was on the roof, in the hot attic, and crawled under my house in the dirt and found a damaged foundation that I was able to have the seller fix before I bought it.
