Little, fried angel halos. That's how I'd describe Shipley's donuts. They aren't perfect. They'll be strangely shaped and irregular at times, but one thing you can bank on is that they're like airy little pieces of heaven. Messy? Probably. Sticky mess? Yup. Delicious? Without a doubt. But don't just stop at their donuts. I usually also get the "pig-in-a-blanket" thing which they call something else. It's basically a big sausage link wrapped in a donut dough but without the glaze. I generally go for the jalapeño version with cheddar cheese cause I'm a glutton for punishment. It's heartburn wrapped in a donut. I always regret the aftermath, but never the lead up to it. They are greasy and spicy and fatty and cheesy. All of which are describe my favorite types of food. If you need some donuts you should really go here. If you want some heartburn that's worth it get those sausage things. Shipley's is always good. I've never had a complaint. Definitely give them a try. read more

This is by far the truest Shipley's donuts I remember growing up. The recipe is perfect and the softness of the donuts are heavenly. I can't wait to get into Jonesboro to stop in and pick up a couple. If you're just driving thru Jonesboro and want a great donut that's soft and heavenly this would be the place. I have noticed in the past some franchises have changed the original recipe bc I'm old enough to know the difference. You can't fool me with an imitation. I think Shipley's is better than Krispy Kreme. It's just more to the donut than KK. That first bite and the donut just melts in your mouth. It's how a donut should make you feel. Warm, soft, heavenly and the perfect amount of sweetness! By far the best donut place ever on stadium drive! Melt in your mouth deliciousness! Nothing better than getting the glazed donuts hot and fresh! Yes it is that good! Love how there is even a slight crispiness on the edges too. The chocolate covered ones are good too...honestly no bad donuts at Shipley's. They also sell a few other breakfast items. I tried their version of a Kolache. Honesty, I didn't care for it at all. It was a sausage cheese kolache and the sausage was a link that looked and tasted like a little hotdog. It was wrapped up in a sweet bread and baked. The sausage is was turned me off so I took it out and ate the rest which was OK. Will stick to the donuts...what they do best. read more

Walked in and was greeted by a welcome voice from the back. They have a drive through but since we didn't know what we wanted we walked in. The gentleman was patient with us while we perused the selection. They had donut holes, donuts, creme filled ones, and applefitters. The apple fritters were large and had actual pieces of apple in them, so good. And the creme filled donut was filled with a delicious creme that wasn't too watery and didn't make my donut soggy.
