Unfortunately, my visit started off on the wrong foot and continued to decline throughout the service. My concerns were fairly simple: * There was no protective plastic liner in the pedicure tub. * The nail technician was engaged in a phone conversation during my service, with the phone resting against her shoulder and head. I politely asked if she could focus on the service or take the call later. * The technician was not very responsive, so I requested another nail technician. When I requested a different technician, the atmosphere immediately became tense. I later translated a recorded conversation and discovered employees were making negative comments about me because I asked for another technician. I also had some remaining gel polish on my toes from a previous pedicure. I had already removed much of it myself and trimmed my toenails before arriving. After the second technician took over, I was informed that the price would increase by $7. Another concern was that the business does not accept credit or debit cards, which was unexpected and inconvenient. During the pedicure, the technician attempted to apply nail polish without first applying a clear base coat. When I requested a clear coat, staff appeared frustrated. At that point, the interaction became increasingly uncomfortable. Emily, the manager, told me that I was creating too many problems and implied that my questions and requests were taking time away from other customers. Rather than addressing my concerns professionally, I felt dismissed and unwelcome. After leaving, I checked Yelp and noticed the business currently has a low rating. Based on my experience, I would encourage customers to read reviews carefully before spending their money. I understand that every business can have an off day, but customers should be able to ask reasonable questions about cleanliness, service quality, and the procedures being performed without being made to feel like they are the problem.

I used to get my nails and feet done here for over 16 years. I have seen and heard alot go on during that time! Emily did whatever she wanted to do to this one black woman's nails, and she keep saying that she didn't want what Emily had done. Emily continued trying to make her feel comfortable with what Emimy wanted to do, and Emily was becoming frustrated when the customer kept telling her that she doesn't want what Emily was doing. The black woman turned to me, and said that it was her last time coming bc Emily has done that to her several times. WE SHOULDN'T PATRONIZE BUSINESSES THAT HAVE NO RESPECT FOR US! We are the ones that make these people live comfortably! They're bills are paid bc of the 1.7 trillion that we spend to fund their lifestyles! Show them we mean business, and do not support them while they get to disrespect you! There are so many black owned nail salons that I've researched that does a way better job than them! The Asian community stand for their own. They take care of their own as well! Did they ask you if you were offended by Buddah? No! Once it was clear that I wasn't getting a full set, I just went on with the appt bc at this point all is left is polish. The lady couldn't do a full set bc she had other clients. This took almost an hour & there wasn't any other ppl there waiting for nails while I was there or when I left. She did try to reschedule me for a full set the next day or after. But it was a reason why i needed to be there on that particular Wednesday. Minus my nails, the service was ok, I didn't find the atmosphere to be relaxing. It doesn't give me spa vibes or relaxation. The place could use a facelift. Next time I will be very clear on what I want, my nails are ok I think they'd look cleaner if it was a full set. These were 15 dollars, so you get what you pay for. The owner/instructor (Duriya) was very nice and the nail tech student (Tocoya) was even more welcoming. She was attentive and personable. My nails were pretty. Tocoya ran into a simple issue with the technique she was attempting but the instructor coached her through the process with ease. My appointment was at 11:00. I arrived at 11:12. However. I called to notify them of my tardiness. The receptionist gave me no problems. There were other students in uniforms practicing different nail techniques through out the entire building. Everyone does a good job but I have my staples. Don does AMAZING pedicures, he takes his time but he is thorough. Andrew does my pure gel overlay. He is also thorough and he makes sure you are satisfied. They have hundreds of nail polish and acrylic colors. They are a bit pricey but my nails last long, so it's worth the price. They also sell name brand makeup, wallets and purses. Highly recommended!!
