    Speck on the bathroom wall.
    Terri B.

Not our first trip to Killeen, but the first time staying at the Shilo Inn. We were greeted by Ms Betty who was a delight, we arrived earlier than expected and she was able to find us a room 2 hours early. The property is showing it's age and is in need of a facelift. In our room we found curtains that were torn, bathtub looks dirty, toothpaste stains on the vanity chair, and speck of who knows what on the bathroom wall. The room we stayed in was a Jr. King with Sleeper Sofa. The tub and restroom were in one room, but the sink and vanity were just outside the restroom next to the entry door. The room had a small living room with couch, table and two chairs that will work as a eating or working area and a mini refrigerator and small microwave. WiFi is free and easy to connect to, although not terribly fast, specially when the hotel is full. On the 3rd day of our trip we had some problems. We returned to our room and the key cards didn't work and needed to go down to the front desk 3 times before they worked. Once we got into our room, we discovered there weren't any towels left by the housekeeping staff. We had to go to the front desk to retrieve them. Then the next morning hot water wasn't working. Then when we returned for the day, again we didn't have any towels. Overall it wasn't a very good stay. Upon checkout, the front desk staff were apologetic and offered a 20 percent discount, but as of today 4 days later we have yet to see the credit to our account.

Our first trip to Killeen won't be our last but it will be our last stay at the Shilo Inn. This hotel need some renovations ASAP!! And the smell in the hall ways... GROSS!! And I was wearing a mask. Would never recommend this place.

Torn walls in all the hallways

Couldn't even stay because we saw three rooms all in really terrible condition. It's disappointing because we stayed here 4 years ago and it was actually pretty nice but I guess management changed and this place has gone way downhill. The first room had a giant, still wet pee stain in the middle of the room, the dishwasher was pulled out, and the microwave had exposed wires at the top. Not to mention, the smell is horrible and made worse by the fact that their AC is trash. The second room had floors covered in glitter and markers, truly looked like no one had cleaned the room since the last guests were there. The third room though was probably the best. There was visible, horrible water damage that covered half the ceiling with mold spots. It smelled musky and terrible and I'm truly appalled that they are still open and allowing people to stay in that safety hazard of a place. Do not stay here, find somewhere else outside of town, it is not at all worth it.

Where do I start? Rooms are old and outdated. Torn carpet. Dirty sheets. No towels. Lucky if you got room service. Had to ask for towels two days of 3. One day never even got service. Staff even argued with me about towels and I had never even spoke with the man!! Shower was dirty. Tv so old the picture didn't even fit on the screen. Stay at your own risk!

    Bed bug.

Such a dirty hotel. There's spiders coming down from the ceiling, the air vents are filthy, found bed bugs, old dirty socks in the kitchen. Just stay away if you can. I have kids and just wasn't good.

Avoid this hotel at all costs. The only good thing to say about it was the reception staff was great. The room was dirty. There were hairs on the sheets, dirty socks under our bed, we were told one of the staff member had sent their family for wash cloths because they had none clean or were short (not sure how this happens ) and overall felt gross. The pool is absolutely disgusting. When I say disgusting I mean it looked like a bacterial infection waiting to happen. Both hot tubs were literally brown and the pool's water was so murky you could not see the bottom. They staff informed us they could not remember the last time it had been treated with any chemicals. You could not pay me to stay here. We checked in and were out within an hour and a half.

    Dirty pillow, disgusting

My husband and I traveled all the way from New York and needed a pet friendly hotel. Upon arrival the halls smelled of extremely bad body odor, carpeting in hallways are outdated and once we got into our room it smelled of dog urine, the curtains were ripped, tv is so old school and we could hear the occupants upstairs running back and forth. The pictures are deceiving!!!!

**Exceptional Service from Ebony at TownePlace Suites - A True Gem!**…read more My husband and I recently stayed at TownePlace Suites in Killeen while attending a church conference and exploring homes for our upcoming move to Texas. From the moment we arrived, Ebony at the front desk made us feel like absolute VIPs. Her warm smile, approachable demeanor, and genuine hospitality turned our stay into something truly memorable. Ebony greeted us every time we entered or exited the hotel with kindness and grace, making us feel more like family than guests. She was incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and well taken care of. The hotel itself was fantastic--our room had a well-equipped kitchenette perfect for a short stay, and the shower had great pressure with consistently hot water. Breakfast was a delightful surprise, especially the individually packaged Spanish egg whites--scrumptious and satisfying! Plus, having 24-hour access to coffee, tea, and hot water in the lobby was a thoughtful touch. Conveniently located near Walmart and several restaurants (all within a 10-minute drive), TownePlace Suites offered everything we needed. But what truly set this experience apart was Ebony's outstanding service. If you're ever in Killeen, Texas, do yourself a favor and stay at TownePlace Suites--where you're treated like family and feel right at home.

It's off the freeway and I got lost initially walking into the hotel next door. Check in was easy- the clerks were pleasant. I thought it would be super noisy between the freeway and fireworks around 4th of July weekend and being on the bottom floor (room 112). However I slept well. The bed was comfortable, I had the air conditioning on full blast and the television on. The breakfast was simple- and I giggled when I discovered the waffle maker made Texas shape waffles. A couple of negatives: I managed to scrape my knee multiple times on the mesh desk chair. Gratefully my friends with the three kids had stuff to sooth the scratches and mitigate the sting- as I worried I might be a slurpee buffet to Killeen's mosquitoes. The soap and lotion had a petro-chemical feel and smell- that was a bit off. I know oil is big in Texas- maybe this is the hotel's attempt at keeping things local. There was chipped paint in the bathtub on the grab bar- but the room was otherwise in great condition. Would I stay here again? Definitely. Great value. $160.46 for two nights was incredibly reasonable. I would just need to remember to bring my own soap and lotion and stay away from the desk chair.
