Starting therapy with Ana meant, from the very first moment, a total transformation in my life…read more Thanks to her, I have been able to understand the true impact of my childhood sexual trauma: the insecure attachment, my anxiety, the emptiness inside, my tendency for self-harm, my compulsions and dissociation. Ana's great compassion allowed me to surrender completely to my own genuine process of self-discovery and healing. Thanks to her skills and seemingly neverending kindness and patience, I have been able to heal little by little. I can now see that I required extreme care which luckily I was able to get when I entered therapy with Ana. Her approach was sometimes simple but powerful and I was able to untangle my internal chaos and I learned to live peacefully with myself. With Ana, I was able to come into my body and feel sane, pure, dignified and clean, not just through words but truly and really, from within my body. One of my greatest successes was being able to go back to swimming in a pool. Before starting therapy, I would be terrified of being in a pool and become easily dissociated due to trauma experienced there. However, after doing some neurological processing, I was able to be free of that terrible trigger. I now swim in a pool almost daily. I feel safe anywhere now! What I learned with Ana Montero, I have been able to take with me and I can now self-support and self-sooth. This is a whole sensation, a whole new life. My healing journey continues, but I am now empowered and can feel protected internally. I continue to use the knowledge and wisdom that was imparted by Ana. I recommend her completely.

Why I decided to try hypnotherapy…read more For me, hypnotherapy was a low risk high move. I became interested in it after doing a lot of research on the manifestation of trauma in the brain and the body, and I felt like the principles behind hypnotherapy was supported by the modern day science. My experience with Michael Nolan *Disclaimer*: I'm trying to be as transparent as possible, but it's entirely possible that your experience will be completely different than mine. We spent the first hour talking about what I was trying to work on, which was my relationship with my parents. Michael has a very calming presence. We talked about the role of my feelings, the different neurological pathways that impact the way I feel, and how those pathways are shaped by events in early development. It was by far the most helpful one hour lecture on neuroscience I've ever had. Michael combines science with spirituality in a way that completes the picture. In the second hour, I was put into a relaxed state. I usually have trouble relaxing anywhere that's not my bed but I found myself able to relax fully here. We worked on changing my feelings around negative events. Afterwards, we discussed what I felt and Michael gave me recommendations on resources to check out. After the treatment, I remained in a state of blissful relaxation for about a day. However, even when the relaxed state was no longer there and I started feeling the negative feelings again, I was able to recognize the feeling and understand why it was there, which was highly valuable for me. My advice for getting the most out of the experience Everyone's journey to healing is different. As great as the experience was, I don't think you should go into it with the expectation that it is a miracle drug which will solve all your problems but rather think of it as a puzzle piece which helps you gain a better understanding of yourself. In addition, try to be as vulnerable and honest as possible about what you're trying to heal from.
