If you're serious about starting to get treatment for your mental health or are considering getting…read morehelp; CAMH is definitely the best place that somone could go to! Provincially funded care with state of the art advancements in diagnostics and treatment , I don't understand why someone would be so apprehensive about getting the care they need and deserve from a place that is really....Regonized as one of the best Mental Health and Addiction facilities in the western world! CAMH has been very helpful for me. To be honest with out the support from staff at CAMH I don't know how I would have gotten where I am today! I've obtained so much from just asking and it made me realize that my kindness went a long way in this facility becouse the truth is I was seen as the majority of people who work and go to learn from CAMH; most people that are registered as a student or are educators or physicians at CAMH have gone through something or know somone who has delt with mental health and addictions and knowing this before acting out and taking it out on them! That's not fair that's not the way compassion works! But I always say thank you to you CAMH for continuing to give me the chance to become a better person and being their every step of the way! I even knowledge to my own physician how much I appreciate her literally every visit becouse when you have littlerly knowone in your life who will sit back and just listin to what you have to say and show kindness with what it is your talking about and are there for! You really do appreciate getting that from a physician becouse most doctors I've had the privilege of seeing most of them really only have 5-10 minutes and if your issue is to complicated and to many factors bouncing from pharmacology, to phcyitry, then yes they will shut the door on your problems becouse they just don't have the staff of mental patients to sit down and assess diagnose and keep tabs on most people who go to their GP or walk in clinics to access Benzos or methadone! If you are seeking a medication like this and have benefited one way or anouther in the past then you need to get centered care that is taliorex to you and with due time you'll be able to access the treatment that other doctors outside this facility (CAMH) ethically and professionally can't afford to have you treated in these ways and that's thanks to our province and the expectations our health care system has on doctors in the waiting room and the Patient's Care rooms! Most of the time it's quick assessments or referrals! So next time you go to CAMH just be a little patient and tone down your tone from a 12 between 1-10! Keep it at a 4-6 if you get my drift or just as you would want someone else to speak to you in that way and I'm sure you'll get the treatment your seeking and so much more you wouldn't even bealive me! Sincerely, michael!

After doing some research online for a good psychotherapist, I came across this website and decided…read moreto see one of their therapists/psychologists. Unfortunately the therapist I saw was not a good match for me personality wise. She was very literal, empirical and rational in her approach and her means of speaking with you seemed very factual and scientific. For some people that approach works, for me however, I really didn't benefit at all from seeing her. She had a hard time reading me as a client and I really don't feel like we connected. At the end of the day, I wanted empathy, compassion and she lacked feeling. Personality wise I am a bit more on the emotional spiritual side so even though you would think that someone "logical" could balance out with their approach, the whole process came off as un empathetic, misunderstood and it lacked a feeling of warmth and resonance. I think its important for anyone who is looking for a psychotherapist in the future is to know what they are looking for, ask a lot of questions. That was my mistake, I should have inquired more before committing to a practioner. After all it is healing work. Who knows maybe someone who is analytical, scientific, reasonable and empirical will work for you. Just not for me. It would have been nice if she "checked in" every once in a while with me while we were in session. Good customer service is when you don't assume anything about your client and you ask them how they are doing through the process. With that said I don't want to disclose the psychologist/psychotherapists name, because her intentions meant well and i'm sure she may have helped plenty of others that resonated with her. Otherwise on a side note the owner of the company seems to care about your experience which in terms of a foundation for a company shows integrity.

I spoke about the things my husband at the time had been saying to me which included horrible, negative remarks on how I looked, my intelligence, personality, and even telling me to kill myself. I'll never forget her saying he's "picking on me" because he's not getting attention. This is not picking on someone. This is abuse and it needed to be said. All I needed at that time was for someone to stand up for me and call it what it was and she didn't. Now my ex husband still likely has no idea that he was an abuser. That our marriage fell apart because his words put me into a deep depression and left me with zero self worth. Next time this happens, stand up and call it abuse first and then take the steps to fix it.

We were fault-finding each others actions and opinions at every possible opportunity, and it seemed like hardly a day went by without an argument occurring over something small and, ultimately, insignificant. I can hardly remember what we fought about anymore, but at the time it just seemed like we had grown apart so much that separation was the only option. Our kids are 3 and 5; I think they were aware of the tension, although we did our best to keep it hidden. A friend recommended The Next Program to me, saying the marriage counselors there had saved her marriage, and that we should at least try talking to an experienced therapist before making such a drastic decision. I thank my friend every time I see her now. The Next Program educated my husband and I on the statistics of divorce--they make every effort to ensure their clientele have an informed view on the facts of how children of divorce suffer more in many aspects of life than children from stable homes. Our therapist also informed us that couples who divorce are likely to marry, and divorce, again. When my husband and I were faced with the realities of the trauma we had considered inflicting upon our children, we found ourselves agreeing on something for the first time in what felt like forever. That breakthrough was the first of many and I can happily say our marriage experienced a miraculous renewal; we are more in love than ever, thanks to The Next Program, my dear friend, and most importantly: us!

You can find appointment like 2 weeks later ( I can only do evenings so that's my constraint). She is very thorough, starts with detailed questions, understands your need and where to focus. You can choose which oil/scent to be used, if you want heat on or not ( recommended having it on in winter times! Feels sooo warm and sound) She does an outstanding job with massaging too, I feel like a cloud after each session. They do direct billing to my insurance as well ( Manulife) Overall very happy with them!

I was having trouble finding a new person as so many places have closed and so when I found him I was delighted. He was great about asking me a lot of really important questions at the beginning of the session to make sure we got the most out of it. He also really wants to help you feel better and not just rub your body with lotion. He really wants to find your trouble areas and help to release the tension that might be there and give you better range of movement. I've had two sessions with him and both of them have been wonderful.

It took me a very long time to be able to write this review. I had seen Megan for about a year…read more Because I had no benefits, she had agreed to see me on a sliding scale, which was very nice. Unfortunately, even the sliding scale was challenging for me, so I sought free therapy. I was able to get into a program for 22 weeks that was totally free so I stopped seeing Megan. She and I discussed this prior to me leaving and she told me specifically that I could come back at any time for the same fee if I still did not have benefits. Once my free program ended, I did reach out to Megan. She told me she could see me again, but only on weekdays between 10 am and 2 pm. I worked at my job from 8 am to 4 pm and I was not comfortable with leaving work, having therapy and then going back to work. I saw that she had an opening with an evening appointment (you could self-book online) so I scheduled myself in for 6 pm. I explained my discomfort and inability to come in during the day time to her and the anxiety I had surrounding this. The thought of coming in during the day and then going back to work was pretty horrible. Megan informed me that evening appointments were reserved for patients who pay full price. I realize this is a business, but she and I had a relationship for an entire year prior and there were no outlined restrictions for me to come back once my free therapy ended. She cancelled the appointment I scheduled before even discussing this with me and offered to have me see someone else in the office. Again, I was not comfortable. I wanted to see her because of the relationship we had. I felt completely rejected, anxious and abandoned. I felt like my free therapy had ended (which I always knew it would) and I thought I could rely on Megan to see me again, but I guess I was wrong. I sent Megan and email outlining how horrible I felt and practically begged to her let me see her. I told her specifically how rejected and anxious this made me feel. Megan refused. I am now over what happened and I have a new incredible therapist. The irony of this is that Megan also told me she was full and couldn't accept new patients. I actually had told my family doctor about her a year prior and my doctor had been referring several patients to her. So I hope her business is doing well, but ultimately she destroyed any kind of therapy relationship I had with her. She destroyed my trust which is so important in therapy. I have discussed this with my current therapist and she also believes what happened was very, very wrong and could see how this could be very damaging to someone with anxiety like me. Ultimately, I would never see Megan again if she gave me the opportunity and I would never recommend her to anyone. If she only cares about patients being able to come when they need to because they pay full price, her priorities are mixed up. Again, I realize this is a business, but you would think care enough to honour her word and see me when I needed therapy again. Overall, completely disappointed.

Megan's style is professional, yet casual- I felt like I was going to talk to a friend each week, not a stiff doctor-type. She is made for this job and is a natural at caring for others while respecting your own choices and opinions. Unfortunately, I moved out of the city so no longer see her, but I often hear her wise words in my head even now.
