All of the therapists I have worked with are professional, empathetic and extremely knowledgeable. Jenna runs the family group therapy sessions and they are extremely helpful! I have brought my wife and daughter multiple times and Jenna makes it fun while we all learn how to best cope with recovery as a family. No two family group therapy sessions are the same because she plans different activities that engage everyone in a positive and educational way. Having other family members participate in the group session makes us all feel like our issues are not unique and we have found comfort hearing others share their challenges and their story. I have learned so much about myself and how to manage tough situations without breaking my sobriety. My wife and I have become friends with other families, who serve as our support system. I highly recommend Rising Phoenix and hope you are lucky enough to work with Jenna! All my best, David H.

From my experience of being there for a year (PHP, IOP, and now in the graduated program) anybody who I saw have a negative experience was someone who didn't want to hear the truth, and had made up their mind that this wasn't the treatment they needed. This place will benefit you if you really lock in, and put the work in for yourself. Go to the 11am free Meadows Model lecture on Friday's, it's a great way to see if the model is a good fit for you! Because the model is focused on core immaturity issues from trauma, is think it's a good fit for everyone to be straight up. I've been to so many different therapists and have been inpatient 3 times, this has been the only place that helped me get to the root of my mental health issues that were threatening my life. I now will only see outside therapist's that have been educated and use the meadows model, my personal therapist and our couples therapist are well connected! My IOP therapist was Jeremy, and he is amazing at what he does! I grew to really trust him with my treatment, and I'm grateful I did!

Beware: The Meadows Model is anti-family and pro-divorce. If you are looking to heal from trauma, I…read morewould NOT suggest the Scottsdale IOP program, especially if you are NOT suffering from addiction. You may leave with more trauma than you started, my wife certainly has. +Headaches + Billing Fraud This review is solely regarding my pregnant wife's neglectful treatment by her therapist Tracey, who in my unbiased opinion has a complex bent on tearing my family apart. The Meadows has a one size fits all approach and treat everyone like a drug addict. (That is without respect and inferior.) You will definitely be in group with drug or porn addicts, even if you have extensive sexual trauma. You will be in groups with the opposite sex, even if you request not. The Meadows Model makes you attend lectures surrounding addiction, even if you have none and encourage everyone to accept a Christian approach to recovery. They also "taught" my wife that women have to tell men why they say "No" ("No is not a complete sentence", they taught my wife, a SA survivor. Tracey picks and chooses which boundaries of the patients to respect and follow. My wife continues to be a victim of unwanted sexual advances from a Meadows patient and Tracey described them as a "good match" and spent valuable group time enabling this man to pursue my wife. My wife expressed that she was being sexually harassed and the therapist tried to convince my wife that she was just anxious and did not honor her boundaries and encouraged her to go on dates with this man twice her age, as a married woman. The therapist continues to send my wife pamphlets on the "stages of divorce" when my wife didn't go to The Meadows for Divorce and communicated that to Tracey. The Meadows sold us on that they don't give advice but they keep pushing my wife for separation. One of the psychiatrists, Dr. V, doesn't believe in depression and accused my wife of being addicted to being sad. The Dr pulled my wife off meds and we had to go back to her old psych to find a medication that worked. This is after my wife's original psych from Meadows prescribed meds then called an hour later to say "Nevermind, take a Benadryl" UPDATE: Dr. V fraudulently billed my wife's insurance for 39 sessions when only one took place. My wife was suffering from debilitating depression and we found The Meadows when her depression continued after we conceived. While initially favorable, the organization said anything to get us in the door. They made me feel comfortable and assured my wife and myself she would be in a safe and protected space. After a couple of weeks they switched my wife's therapists and groups and were then encouraging my very pregnant wife to car pool and ride with a single divorced man and recovering drug addict to and from group. The therapists encouraged this behavior and tried to get my wife to remove me from her care team. My wife repeatedly said no and associating with single men makes her uncomfortable and is crossing a boundary in her marriage. The leadership does not care, leaving my wife feeling even more isolated with no one to turn to. Tracey doesn't care about violating my wife's boundaries, going so far as posting everyone's phone numbers when my wife said sharing hers would make her uncomfortable. Now my wife is receiving texts from a man twice her age from group, adding to her trauma. If you're vulnerable or in a damaged state, The Meadows will take your money and try and manipulate you into unhealthy situations. They try and get you to associate with people in Meadows and views everyone else as an "outsider" including family. They prey on people needing acceptance, and they will exclude you if value your marriage more than anyone you meet at The Meadows. One star for Brough, an old school Meadows guardian. On Monday nights they hold a group for family and friends of people in recovery. Brough holds space in a professional and healthy manner. On Tuesday they have an online group session that is helpful hosted by Daniel Stenson. We ended up continuing our treatment elsewhere.

I was being bullied to the point where I couldn't sleep safe at night. They made me do a conflict resolution with the bully but it only made things worse. The bully came at me even harder making it her full time job to make my life hell. They did nothing else to solve the problem. I gave them several suggestions but they ignored them and allowed the bullying to continue. I ended up with insomnia so bad because the bully planned on hurting me, so I ended up in a mental hospital because of lack of sleep and then they said I couldn't come back. I know its because they knew I was going to get hurt if I came back. They treated the situation like I was the problem. They should be ashamed of themselves for not helping me, when they were the only ones that could. So the bully got to stay and I had to leave. I would never recommend anyone going to this place especially if ur trans.

He's a true hero who cares deeply about his patients, knows how to get results and is a genius in his line of work. truly the best decision i've ever made…read more i can honestly say coming here has changed my life in every possible way. the staff here is beyond amazing -- they don't just do their jobs, they care. like really care. every single person goes out of their way to make sure you feel supported, seen, and heard. Marissa and Darcy, my case workers, have been such a blessing. they've helped me with everything -- from building a plan for my future to just being there when i needed someone to talk to. they make sure you're not just okay while you're here, but that you're set up for success after -- with school, work, housing, all of it. my therapist Michael has made such a huge impact on me. i've learned more from him in these four weeks than i ever expected to. he's helped me understand myself on a deeper level and actually believe in the person i'm becoming. there are also so many other amazing people who have made this experience what it is -- Grace, Frankie, Drew, Shaun, Sergio, Eric, Renee, Lindsey, Hannah, Justin, Zach, Kayla, Erin, Jordan, Desiree, John, Marcel, Donny, Tiffany, Haley, Mary, Makenzie, and Kristian, and even the cleaning ladies who always bring such good energy and kindness every day. every single one of them plays a part in creating this safe, healing environment. you can feel the love and care everywhere here. the classes are incredible too -- they're real, they hit deep, and they actually teach you how to live again. you learn about emotions, boundaries, relapse prevention, communication, and just how to be a healthy person in every part of your life. and the community you build here... it's like family. everyone is trying to get better together, and the friendships you make are real and lasting. i've met people i'll stay connected with forever. if you truly want to get sober and start over the right way, this is the place. they help you heal, rebuild, and actually find yourself again. i'll forever be grateful for everyone here -- they helped me find hope again.

This is NOT the place to go if you are struggling with your mental health. I was self-admitted due…read moreto a need for mental health support for anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation. It didn't take long to realize that this is very much an addiction rehab and almost none of their sessions directly related to mental health education, DBT, or support. They also heavily push meds here. I was on 6 different anxiety/antidepressant/antipsychotic meds, most of which (or perhaps the combination) made me physically sick, nauseous, and I would go days without eating. For the solution to this from nursing, I was given protein shakes and then was given MORE meds to deal with the side effects of these. When I asked to be taken off one, I was told I was "refusing meds" which at NO point did I refuse something that was needed for me to take. This went on for weeks. After three weeks of treatment, I was abruptly "administratively discharged" by my therapist, just one week before my expected end date. I was told that their facility was "not equipped" to handle my needs, despite having been completely transparent from the time of my intake about my mental health issues. They even claimed my depression was getting worse while there, which unfortunately was accurate. While I understand that there are varying standards for treatment progress, I am deeply concerned that my discharge was handled inappropriately. Specifically: * I was discharged without any follow-up care or referral to ongoing mental health services, despite having suicidal thoughts and self-harm behaviors that my therapist and the treatment team were fully aware of. Again, all of this was mentioned in my intake before I even started. * Upon immediate discharge (literally, immediate. I was not allowed back inside, even to say goodbye to friends) I was given a month's worth of medication, including sleeping pills, without a clear aftercare plan, despite the potential risks for misuse or overdose. This risk was known to my therapist and the medical team, as we had to report suicidal ideation daily on our medical notes. * I was not provided with any support or guidance to manage my transition out of inpatient care safely. The team was aware that I live alone, yet I was sent home with a bag full of a month's worth of medication and no follow-up or additional support from anyone at Pinnacle Peak Recovery. This discharge left me feeling abandoned and unsupported, which is especially troubling given the severity of my mental health needs at the time. Additionally, I felt I was completely rejected by my therapist, with whom I had built a trusting relationship. She essentially gave up on me. Looking back, I believe this situation endangered my well-being and was not consistent with the standards of care expected from a licensed mental health facility that claims to treat mental health disorders. They need to take "mental health" off their website. This place is strictly a 12-step program for those with substance abuse disorders and should NOT be claiming otherwise. I do want to add that the BHPPs and the other instructors/staff were very kind, wonderful people. I genuinely enjoyed getting to know most of them and have made connections with people from this program that I will have friendships with long term . The way my discharge was handled, and the lack of actual support for those with mental health issues during my time there had nothing to do with them. Overall, please DON'T come here for mental health! My situation could have been deadly if I wasn't lucky enough to have a support system back home. Find a different place. This isn't it.
